    RIP

Husband "Are you seeing another man?"

Wife: "I can swear by all things holy I am not seeing another man"

Okay, the murder is awful (I assume not a suicide), but still brings to mind how some are good with with lies by omission.

Good assumption!  Hard to cut yourself in half and then separate yourself!  555

22 years in Thailand and in my late forties i would certainly prefer a westerner to a thai, but then i tend to judge people on their merits and am open to anyone i find intelligent and attractive .

i reckon you dont make that cut.

LOL 22 years here and you still haven't met and found a good western woman!  I rest my case.

Toxic chemicals in everything in the west has made them less intelligent over many years.

When they got angry when I opened doors for them 20 years ago I threw in the towel.

You can have them and you are in the minority.

No, that can't be true Kabula. There are always a few good ones around just that you are not lucky to meet them.

It all boils down to numbers, when you were born you were given a set of numbers and these numbers even determined whether you get small pox as a baby and survive or you suffer a love affair gone real bad at certain time in your youth. All numbers, that's why we don't get the same kind of luck.

The few good ones you refer to are most likely taken!  There is a reason why most I refer to are alone or holding hands with a Thai women!

And there is a reason why I left the U.S. 20 years ago to get away from them!  Even the two I married over time turned into a royal pain in the ass. They are still alone and calling.

  4. Blame no one!

Wake up; most of the entire world is experiencing record rains, historic flooding and mud slides.

I hope no one is  building a wooden ship and gathering animals.

The surface water generally dries up in a day or so.

It would be nice to see positive comments from time to time.

    So here is one!

It's dry again here and the sunshine is wonderful.

  5. Wow...In 11 years living  in Thailand I never heard or read about anyone looking for a western woman.

My first thought was, 'forget about it.'  Then, 'up to you; good luck.'

I never met a western women here  that I would like to spend more than 20 minutes with.

Most were obese, heavy smokers, lesbians, heavy drinkers, and full of dysfunctional attitude. Nothing I'm interested in.

Just thinking about them makes my stomach upset.

An arm is frequently severed in an accident when the driver has his arm extended outside the window and the vehicle overturns.  Keeping your arms and legs inside the vehicle a safety tip that is rarely mentioned.

When a vehicle overturns the force of inertia will force occupants without restraints through glass and ejections and amputations will occur.

The arms can be inside the vehicle and often when seatbelt restraints are used, the force of inertia will push arms through the glass to be amputated.

Multiple rollovers causes roof and pillar crush that will also amputate arms as they are tossed around. Often surgical amputation is necessary post crash.

While riding in a bus, the isle seat away from the window in the middle of the vehicle is the safest.

So your idea is let monks do what that want and people just ignore it?

Do you think monks can do as they like... have sex, fight, drink alcohol and take drugs and people should say nothing otherwise they are bullies?

These monks are supposed to be setting an example of how to live to people.  They are respected and trusted.  To do such bad things undermines all that... it does more harm than good!

Surely the temple where that monk was needs to take action.. or action taken against the monks in charge.. if they are not teaching the novice monks BASIC things like right from wrong.. such as watching pornographic movies on a public bus is a bad thing to do.

It's none of your business if you are a guest!

Go with the flow, enjoy the country and mind your own business.

Being critical in a public forum creates hate and there is enough of that now worldwide.

  8. The operator's speed may have been too fast prior to entering the curve.

If the roadway had a slight grade to the left,  excessive speed combined with  improper hard braking would have pulled him over the trash and into the concrete and sign.

Most motorcycle accidents in the vicinity of sharpe curves are caused by speed too fast for conditions and improper road grades.

  9. Be kind to everyone!

Many people at a young age were abandoned, ignored, mentally abused, lost a parent or both, were never taught right from wrong, therefore have no  boundaries.

Many lacked proper nutrition for proper brain development.   Some are autistic and. bipolar.

My point is, in many cases it's not their fault.

When you make fun of them, you are a bully.

Foreigners are guests here and therefore they should behave like guests.

Criticizing monks or any religion in a public forum creates hate and polarization.

     I hate bullies.

  10. Interesting topic.

I've lived in several foreign countries and visited many over 50 years.

Having a legal background, I researched prostitution laws in many countries.

I discovered that all the counties I researched, even countries that were well known sex destinations where everyone felt prostitution was legal; it was in fact illegal to some degree.  The clever wording in the laws made the content intent confusing.

In my opinion, the clever wording made it possible for the governments to shut down prostitution at a moments notice if they had to.

It's impossible to shut down the oldest profession, however if you throw in, 'pimping is illegal,'  in the law, that allows countries more control of the industry.

The truth of the matter is, prostitution generates trillions of dollars for the governments from visas, taxes, income tourists spend and small business profits as well, as visitors utilize most services. The profits have turned 3rd world countries into developed countries over the last 50+ years.

The income also allows hungry, disadvantaged families to be able to buy food, vehicles, own their own home, and start small businesses.

It's all good, but it has to be controlled.

..from what I've seen after living here for 10 years with a Thai family ..  most marriage do not fail.. ..I don't know what the figures are but probably no different to western countries.. as is Thai tradition the elderly in our family are given support and respect from their children... this tradition is under pressure as younger people move to cities and become urbanized..  As a generalization those whose marriages do break up are given family support  ... a roof over their heads if needed.. extended family taking care of children while parent s work.. not a lot.. but in a country where there is no government support for the  unemployed.. and not much for the elderly the extended family system works.. but no doubt this traditional system is under pressure with a rapidly changing culture..

I've lived in Bangkok, the playground for financially needy ladies for 12 years.  I lived with a Thai women for 7 years. Not one person that I have known, including her friends that married foreign man stayed together.  That includes Thai women that married and went back to their husband's home country.

The Internet has made both men and women better dealers. Not healthy for relationships.  The worldwide economic retreat breaks up marriages, especially when the husband cuts the cash flow.

There is a reason why I said most!  There are always exceptions.

  12. Most people travel these days without International medical insurance.

The premiums have become unaffordable for many, especially the annual premiums, and the covert, claim denials are disgusting. The entire industry should be ashamed of themselves in my opinion.

They are known for authorizing surgery and medical care, and then a month later they will send a denial letter to the hospital based on a pre-existing condition, that wasn't pre-existing. They will attach a boilerplate letter from a loser doctor alleging this and that.  I've seen many of those letters with the wrong insured's name in the body of the letter, because they forgot to change it.

I believe this was the main reason hospitals worldwide were forced to double their charges over the years to offset their losses.

I was an independent insurance adjuster for 30 years. For many years I worked for the insurance companies, but in my latter years I couldn't stomach it anymore so I started working for the policyholder.  The insurance companies even nitpicked my bills.

I recommend travel insurance for short stays if affordable. However, be sure to have the agent email a copy of the policy, depicting limits, the deductible, coverages and the denials.

Read the entire policy before purchasing it.  Pay particular attention to the denials. If your activities are high risk ask if additional coverage is available for an additional premium?

If your claim is denied, then you'll need to hire a seasoned, professional adjuster with legal experience to level the playing field.  I don't recommend hiring an attorney right away.  I further recommend that the adjuster/claims consultant prepares a demand letter for you to send with your name and work on a time and expense basis.

Warning....most if not all medical policies no longer cover motorcycle accidents even if they are a licensed motorcycle taxi! They use to, but all the policies I have seen lately are not covered.

Before you jump on one consider the high risk and the enormous sum money you might be liable for in the event of a catastrophic accident.  Better and safer to ride in an automobile taxi or a bus!  Cheaper in the long run if you live here.  If it can happen, over time it does happen!

    Take care....up to you.
