  1. And umm, OP, shouldn't you be doing your own research???

    the OP mentioned that

All recommendations will be researched and possibly included.

my guess is that he/she is simply looking for leads and suggestions.

  2. i'm on my way out the door to do a visa run, and i've just heard some information that is causing me some concern.

i have a non immigrant 0 multi entry and the first 90 days are about to expire......do i have to cross the border, or can i simply go to the immigration office to get another 90 days?

obviously i'd rather go to the local immigration office than all the way to the border.

    thanks.

  3. can anyone recommend a good dentist in krabi? i don't need any major work done, just a cleaning and a quick look around for problems.

    thanks.

  4. for vegetarians, i'd recommend Hong Ming which is located on the small road behind vogue department store (sorry the name isn't on my map) and the corner of Maharat Soi 10.

monday to saturday, early morning to approx. 5 pm.

they usually have several different curries, and vegetarian pork and duck. It's chinese vegetarian so they also make 'gweeteow' to order.

the staff doesn't speak much english, but they are very friendly.

if anyone knows the name of the road behind vogue, please post it.

  5. How about party places like discotec, ....Every time i think of krabi,...no... no... i think about all limitation put on night life because it has majority thai muslims.

that's what you think about every time you think of krabi?

  6. i bought a new honda jazz 13 months ago, and had an alarm installed by the dealership.

i've since moved to a different province and the alarm has stopped working---i have to unlock/lock the doors manually, and the alarm sounds every other time i open a door.

i went to the honda dealership where i'm now located, and they were unable to fix the alarm because they aren't familiar with that brand of alarm. i contacted the dealership where i bought the car, and they said it wasn't their problem because the alarm is not covered by the car's warranty and that i should contact the manufacturer of the alarm (topgunner).

i did that by driving 6 hours RT to another province where topgunner has a representative, and the rep told me the alarm's warranty expired 6 weeks earlier and that he didn't have the part in stock but would mail it to me (at my expense for the part and shipping) and that my local honda dealer would be able to install it easily.

the part arrived last week, and i went to my local honda dealer today---- and they still couldn't do anything with the alarm or the new part.

i suppose i could drive back to the topgunner rep (making a total of 12 driving hours) and get them to install the part and repair the alarm, but it seems a bit unfair.

which leads me to my question.....

do you think it would be worth my while to contact honda corporate offices in thailand to make them aware of my situation....or is this just a case of bad luck and there's nothing i can do but grin and bear it?

    thanks.

  7. hi

i need to improve my thai skills and was wondering if anyone has anyone taken thai language classes at Papinporn language school in ao nang.

if so, did you find it worthwhile? what levels do they have? what were the teachers like? what teaching methods did they use?

would you recommend it to someone who is a beginner? intermediate level? advanced?

any and all feedback is appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

  9. FYI

overnight parking at the airport is permitted and costs 50 baht/night.

according to everyone i spoke to who worked there, it is safe.

i'll post again if my car gets stolen! :o:D

  10. Hi

I'm headed out of town for a couple of days and am considering leaving my car at the airport....

Actually I'm not even sure if they allow overnight parking, but if they do please let me know of your experience----either good or bad.

    Thanks!
