  1. The Times, The Telegraph and the Mail all reporting on the new E.U. army. (Though this was reported on Breitbart a couple of months ago, the mainstream press seem to be just getting onto it).

The details to be kept under wraps until after the referendum - I wonder why they would do that?

So, all our armed service men and women who swear allegiance to the Queen and countrey would all have to break those vows? What about the S.A.S. - the best in the world at what they do? When they come under E.U. rule how good will they be then?

I notice too that Germany seems to be one of the countries striving to get this E.U. army set up.

I wonder what language will be spoken?

Yet another nail in the coffin of Britain - what once was a great country. I will vote OUT.

  2. A previous poster used the term “inclusiveness” as an ideal for the citizens of the EU, believing

that the umbrella of the EU would “magically” (my word) have them all pulling together towards a common goal, united in a single purpose. How to achieve this “Utopian” state? There are no mechanisms, as yet, in place to promote a “European” patriotism. It remains a disparate and polyglot and economically unequal grouping which the EU is trying to cobble together as an “entity”. It is my belief that the EU will have largely disintegrated long before deep feelings of patriotism can be instilled or inculcated in the population, but that’s another story altogether.

I was brought up to be fiercely patriotic, although not "jingoistic" as previous generations had been.

I was proud of my country and my citizenship of it. I see nothing particularly wrong with that, although DD finds it something of an embarrassment. Perhaps it is an anachronism in this day and age? I don’t know. I would need to be persuaded.

However, I am quite certain that without some overarching program in place within the EU to create feelings of pride, belonging and, yes, patriotism in its structure, its denizens are unlikely to ever be able to coalesce into some meaningful body able to compete with the other major political and economic structures in the world at large. And they will possibly, further down the line, also become

unleadable and ungovernable because of it. Watch out for a strongman to emerge as a force for leadership in this scenario!

How to do away with individual emotional National Anthems, National sporting teams, and National Pride? It will absolutely become necessary if “Europe” is ever to work. This is not some Orwellian fantasy, by the way. The EU Commissioners will have recognized this, I am sure, and will be putting plans in place, no doubt getting ready to create a separate department and appoint a czar, mandarin or other functionary to oversee the process to its conclusion.

    .

Is this what the British really want to ally themselves with? Surely not?

I recall reading - a while ago - that there will be no 'England' football team in the future, no Scots or Welsh teams either. We will have a 'Euro' team. A bit like the U.S.A. or Russia having their own teams. This has, apparently, been decided by the E.U. already but they are waiting to see what happens with the vote.

There were exercises recently in the U.K. of the E.U. 'army' that the E.U. want in place of a British army. It was on a small scale but obviously seems to be the way forward for the E.U.

The E.U. want a European police force too from what I have read.

Then there was the articles about England, Wales and Scotland becoming 'zones' in the E.U. with their own Czar(s). This would be further into the future as I recall.

Extremely interesting reading. I am not all surprised if these things are on the European Union's drawing board. I think we all have a pretty good idea, now, of how the EU Commissioners think, and what their "Grand Design" is, going forward. And where will it end? Will the United Kingdom eventually and ultimately just become a "province" of the European Union?

Do you recall what the source of the article you read, was?

As far as I recall, it was at Breitbart.

They seem to be one of the few places that give more information. I believe they were the first to break the news of the Cologne assaults over the new year.

With a lot of the British sites 'supressed' it is one of my sources of information.

  4. Something i find quite strange is that such a high proportion of TV posters support Brexit and from the comments on here many have significant nationalistic or patriotic reasons for wanting UK to leave. So why are you living in Thailand and not the UK ??

I spend my time in both Thailand and the U.K.

Is it so strange that I do not want my children and grandchildren to be brought up in a country ruled by non elected officials?

for me personally, I can be nationalistic and still travel the world and stay where I want and when I want.

Also, the U.K. is where my money is, my house and many friends and family. That gives me good reason to want to be involved and be able to vote on the referendum.

  5. "The country, along with the rest in the Schengen, was ordered by Brussels to accept thousands of migrants or face a £195,000 fine (250,000) per person rejected."

This from Hungary who are voting on whether to let more migrants into their country. Hungary feel they are being bullied by the E.U. Now, who would have thought that the E.U would try to force such a thing through? And this coming from elected representatives? NO.

We do need to vote OUT to stop our own beautiful country being under an E.U. dictatorship.

    IMHO of course tongue.png

So Whambam, what would you suggest doing about the refugee crisis? Separately, in this age of global media, what would you do about economic migration?

    I'm all ears!

    Which 'refugees'?

Have you seen how many of these 'refugees' are fit, healthy young men? These should be back in their own countries fighting to help liberate them. Instead, they move into Europe where they try ti intimidate the local populations. There are reports of them patrolling streets insisting life should be lived their way.

Women are harassed for wearing western style clothing. Women and children are accosted in streets, on trains, in swimming pools.

These 'immigrants should be deported back to their own countires.

I see no reason why these 'immigrants' should be forced onto any country that does not want them.

The women and children - and there seem to be very few of these - should be given safe haven in the FIRST safe country they land in. This should be a temporary measure until their own countries are deemed safe once again (which - admittedly - may take some time). But these genuine refugees should not then be allowed to have all their dozens of relatives join them. They, also, should not be allocated to a country that does not want them, but remain in the safe countries they land in.

If Turkey - as the E.U. says - is a safe place, then they should stay there, not be shipped to Europe.

I suppose you would have them flood into the U.K. and live here on benefits, get free housing, white goods and free schooling? They do not integrate wherever they go.

There are reports today that another refugee place has been torched in Italy. That would make it the 3rd time they have torched this particular place. A safe place where they are looked after and given shelter. Not that it means much to them.

  7. Camoron now says ISIS will be happy if we vote for BREXIT.

    The man is a joke.

Recently he said BREXIT would lead to WW3.

It has also been mooted that the U.K. leaving the E.U. would lead to wars and instability.

Let me see, who in the last 100 odd years have started wars in Europe.......

Not Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, U.K. and many others.

Germany ! Ah yes, the land of Merkel and company. I seem to recall Germany might have started the odd little war or two.

So where is this threat of conflict coming from?

Look at Spain. An E.U. member and also a NATO member.

They harass and try to prevent a U.S. submarine from entering Gibraltar. They regularly cause problems for British vessels too.

Yet this is one or our 'wonderful' E.U. allies.

Look at France and their attitude ..... on the other hand, maybe not laugh.png

What many forget is that many european countries would like to shit on us from a great height. (I preclude Norway, Denmark, Holland and Sweden from this - as we seem to get on well with them and vice-versa).

It seems that when we do vote BREXIT, we are going to be in need of plenty of Lend-Lease from the USA - oh but wait...... Obummer, their president, is not happy we are considering leaving the E.U. Yet he will not open the border with Mexico to let all those people in. He will not allow Mexico to make laws for the USA. Yet he believes differently from us. He looks like and acts like a t*rd. Well, thank heavens he will not be around much longer.

Vote TRUMP - he seems to know better cheesy.gif

And while we are at it..... can WE send some people over the pond to tell the Americans how to live their lives and be able to interfere with their laws?

Angelina Jolie - OMG - another American sticking her nose into our affairs re immigrants. Let her campaign instead to allow millions of Mexicans into the gool old U.S. of A.

  8. I am English and proud to be.

I am also a Yorkshireman and proud to be.

Way down on my list is feeling like I am a European.

Europeans in the main do not think like we do. We are an island race made up from our own indiginous people as well as white (historic) invaders from Scandinavia and northern Europe.

My father and many relatives fought in WW2 to keep the Nazis and others at bay from this wonderful land of ours. Victory came with a high price from many nationalities (never forgetting the commonwealth citizens) who died for peace, freedom and to free us from the shackles of tyranny.

    Tyranny.

That is what the unelected people in the E.U. want, not only for us in the U.K. but also for others in the E.U.

The E.U. want to rule over us.

The E.U. already have too much say in our daily lives from the power of vacuum cleaners through to what our courts can and cannot do. The E.U. says who we can and cannot deport. We have terrorist, rapist, murderers, muggers and many others who cannot be deported thanks to E.U. meddling.

Our Steel industry cannot be saved thanks to E.U. rules.

Many small business are being stifled by rules, regulations and red tape.

Then there are the refugees economic immigrants.

We are being TOLD what we can and cannot do with regards to them. And if the U.K. votes to stay in the E.U. we will have less say on the matter.

Millions of Turks are waiting to invade. (let Merkel keep them).

Poles and many others coming here to the U.K. claiming benefits and having money sent back for their children who are in their own countries.

The health service is floundering under the weight of these invaders. Doctors surgeries cannot cope.

In some schools there are over 20 languages spoken.

Luckily, we still have some small say in keeping these invaders out but that will no longer be the case if we stay in the E.U.

Sweden, Germany and other countries report rapes of six year old children and others by these Syrian / Afghani and other immigrant invaders. They defacate in swimming pools. They treat our women like dirt. Sharia law courts operate here.

Many european invaders cannot be sent back home after rape / murder and other serious crimes because we have no power to do so.

    The economy.

We can trade with ANY country we wish, as we wish, when we leave the E.U. Right now, we cannot. And if the misguided vote to stay IN the E.U. we will have further restrictions laid at our door. Our businesses will have to do as they are told.

Oh, dear, some people seem to believe the £ will tank. (Maybe in the short term it will), but the U.K. economy is the strongest in Europe.

Australia, Canada and other Commonwealth countries have said they will be happy to trade with us.

Europe in general will also trade with us if we leave.

So much more, but I am stopping except to mention the billions of £ we will save by leaving.

    VOTE OUT !!!

    You know it makes sense.

The Daily Mail, Daily Express and Breitbart London (on the web) are at least trying to tell the people the truth.

I would agree that both sides have their arguments however the leave group should be happy you are not their spokesman . You lost all credibility after the UK is the strongest economy in Europe....and the Daily Mail tells the truth lol

At least The Mail and Breitbart along with the Express are not pandering to the governments wishes in telling Cameron's version of the truth with his vote fear campaigns. You get to hear what IDS, Boris, Gove and others have to say.

Unlike, for example, the BBC who hardly ever give the public a broad spectrum. The BBC pander to the governments wishes.

    What nonsense!

Do you listen to any serious Radio 4 programs?

    You should

Radio 4. Part of the Biased Broadcasting Company?

    Now THAt is a joke.

Thanks, I needed a laugh today.

  11. I used to have the phone numbers of a couple of reliable motocy drivers and used to phone them to pick me up. Always reliable, fair price and courteous.

Often (in recent times) I was asked at Pattaya Pad motocy taxis to pay an extra 30% above normal fare. I refused. Instead I'd walk 50 metres and get a different one when my usual ones were busy.

Needless to say the motocy drivers at Pad condo were none too happy - but stuff them if they want to overcharge.

I'd use grabtaxi too in preference.

  12. This sort of thing reminds me of Catholics who go to church and ask for forgiveness in the confessional - then they go out and do it again, be it murder, rape or whatever.

This is really a pathetic way to try to atone for what he did. Big whoopee he does a few days in a temple and all is forgiven? Several years hard labour would make him think more next time and it would be more appropriate IMHO.

  13. Paranoid? No.

I think there are many open minded people who see the violent clips on here and the internet who wonder what is going on. It makes you feel less safe, especially when many of these violent thugs tend not to be jailed or punished sufficiently. That in itself leads to concerns - quite rightly - that you could be one of those on the receiving end (or your family could be) and no-one would step in to help out - especially the police.

In more 'civilised' countries you feel some form of protection from the law, police and also people in general who we believe would not let a woman be attacked by EIGHT men, or a family be hospitalised by another gang of men.

Yet, where I have spent much of my time in recent years, I saw little or no violence. That was in Pattaya - a place where you would be led to believe there is constant violence.

I spent 4 years in Nakhonsawan and I saw more violence there than in any other part of Thailand I have stayed. That violence was always Thai on Thai and nobody ever intervened.

No, violence is not simply a Thai thing, though media would have us beleive differently of late.

Think back to the 60's in the UK. Mods v Rockers. Weekly gang fights. Yet most bystanders were not harmed or involved. So, this is not a modern thing with gangs.

Go to ghettos and inner city areas in the 'civilised' world and you are more likely to see / witness violence.

Look at the USA. Guns, murders, schools under attack. Norway and that horrific attack. There are many more instances.

Yet, most of us do not witness it.

My g/f refuses to go out alone after dark unless she HAS to. She has had several instances where she has been fearful of being attacked / molested. She has been followed about and been approached in a manner that made her seek the company of others to make her feel safer.

My point is - I suppose - that violence CAN happen anywhere. Often it is down to being aware of your surroundings.
