  1. The link says "Furthermore, the two parties also exchanged views on regional and global issues, such as the situations in the Asia-Pacific region, Ukraine, and Myanmar." but says absolutely nothing about those viewpoints. What exactly is going through these two men's minds in terms on the murder and destruction in Ukraine and Myanmar? Surely of interest to the news reader not? The TH FM is seen shaking hands with a war criminal, says more about the TH FM than the criminal.
  2. The escalators haven't changed but people have. This will be noticed more now as more events get published on SM and the result of people with heads down in their devices exiting the escalators not paying attention to safety.
  3. Not the task bar, the task manager.
  4. First thing I check is task manager?
  5. It says Credit Card on the account ! It also gets accepted at places needing deposit guarantees such as airlines, hotels and car rentals where an ATM debit card does not. It's been a big help since my country of citizenship no longer will give me a credit card with a Thai home address.
  6. What's an AT card? I was given a perfectly functioning Platinum Visa Credit card by KBank. No job needed here. All you need is a bank deposit with them to the amount of credit you plan to use.
  7. I just had my 90 day online report entered online using the web site on Monday and then today waiting 5 days got the rejected answer without any explanation from CW. So now I have to go there in person and waste a whole day getting there and back. I have used online reports successfully for several years and I am still on the same passport, visa and home address that I own. The only thing slightly different this time is I traveled internationally four times over the past year so my last online 90 day report was just approved over a year ago on 2 July and I haven't needed to do one again until now.
  8. There seems to be a web site or sorts called https://www.threads.net but you can only read stuff on it and need a mobile app to like or reply lol!
  9. Does not even work on a PC without an Android emulator. I will stay with TweetDeck.
  10. You can buy keyboards online for under 150THB, I just bought one and thought nothing of it for the price if its junk I would toss it. Turns out as per reviews online its just fine and for the money cannot be beat!
  11. Must depend where you look? Where we live there are more shops and ATMs than I have ever seen, even as many now use smart phones to pay for stuff.
  12. Why would anyone buy something when they don't know what it is?
  13. What about exit-rentry permits for those on one year extensions?
  14. A desktop, the new mini desktops are smaller than a laptop! Fit to the back of any screen. Cheaper alternative if you don't need a laptop. I just bought one for 5000THB and it runs as fast as my 50,000THB laptop!
  15. Its had a GUI for many years now, as easy to follow on Windows. Yes, but only with an enabling application like 'Wine' installed, and the Windows programs may not run as smooth or at all. Easy with many apps coming with the system for free or downloadable free. That said I dumped my Linux PC (the hardware was 10 years old) for a newer machine and it runs Win11 and overall I find Win11 more user friendly and suited to my background of using Windows based apps for many years.
  16. I phoned head office KBank about refund of the WHT after giving the bank branch my Thai tax ID#, but they said there was no option for refund or any way they could help as it is now the law. Not sure if a second opinion needed, but with the amounts involved I am not bothered.
  17. I didn't find that case. I have previously used Shipito because Amazon only delivered my laptop product to a US address at the time. That went well, I got a tax free laptop to Thailand from Shipito with 7% import fees ontop of my declared cost and Fedex fee, about 120USD extra in my case door to door inside 5 days. The next time Amazon was shipping direct to Thailand so I chose them for the next laptop. I had to pay Amazon taxes and delivery fees for Thailand without choice of courier and it was an extra 200USD. The courier Amazon appointed was UPS and on arrival at BKK cargo airport UPS had a policy of not releasing anything until I went in person, or appointed rep, with passport as ID, so that wasted some time and would have been very inconvenient had I been based upcountry. Next time I will revert to Shipito.
  18. In our condo the outside walls of our unit along with the balcony walls are part of the main building and responsibility of the community to keep maintained. Several times I have seen the condo building painters covering the outer walls and balcony walls.
  19. Well you've cleared up that you won't move but you ask us if we would take it without saying what it is or the T&C. No one would take a job based on the info provided.
  20. Word, Excel and Powerpoint and web browsing that the o/p mentioned run very nicely on latest Win11. I just bought a 5000THB mini desktop PC which is smaller than my laptop and comes with WIn11 Pro. Excellent performance and value for money. The latest Windows just gets better IMHO.
  21. I use Acrobat on KBanks password PDF statements, using copy with format option and it pastes into correct cells on my Excel sheet.
  22. I bought an AIS SIM off Shopee, that came registered with someone elses ID and after a while had to go to an AIS shop with my pp to register it - otherwise they would shut it down. Since then works fine, not sure it helps your router problem tho as mine worked fine before ID check.
  23. I too was required to update my international trading account with a TIN, my old one from work day in Thailand was the older 10 digit format, and the account only recognized newer 13 digit format. I went on a retirement visa to the local tax office and got a new number for free in a matter of minutes. This was acceptable for all my international finance accounts and seems to be normal these days to keep the accounts active. I have never had any taxes. ONE requirement to get a tax ID is a permanent address in Thailand of course as the TIN is how they trace you these days. No address no TIN is how it works I think. I showed them my yellow book.
  24. There's one across the road at the foot of the stairs to the BTS station.
  25. I meant reformatted (and perhaps partitioned) the HDD with old data and old Windows on it using an o/s on a USB drive and installed the new o/s on the old laptop HDD. I would be interested to know what tools can access old data after that?
