got stopped last time with wifes 3 baht necklace , i was slapped with a 790 euro fine and charges in dublin airport. how do i avoid this in future , take necklace out of box and around my neck and hide reciept but surely being customs they will ask me to prove proof of purchase and confiscate it anyway. i could post it but dont trust postage system especially with a 3-5 baht gold necklace.

not so, as i say last time i got 20 cartons, went to another shop and they asked to see my boarding card, tried to get 20 more they refused me saying i was over the limit allready. i lost them at dublin airoport anyway so im wondering is everything connected via some cutoms internal system where they see how many duty free items you have bought at other end , just a thought.

sorry guys, hired the car yesterday i have headed to hau hin, great here , beautifull beaches and very relaxing, ill maybe stay 2 days then head down to krabi or even samui but samui is expensive i hear.

i want to leave pattaya , was thinking of going to phils but is just too expensive at the minute for me. return flight is 19000 baht cheapest and then i need to pay another flight to borcay so its not suitable for me. so i am now thinking of a tour around thailand for 1 week. i might head to koh chang 1-2 days, head to buriram or surin, then up to khon kaen then udon and possibly chang mai or even as far as chang rai staying 1 night in each city. i will hire car for a week.

just looking advice on places to stay in any of these area,s , what to see , if there is any nightlife bars etc etc. cheapish hotels or guesthouses with wifi etc. i am familiar with khon kaen and udon allready . i have also been around kalasin and there is some great lakes in that area so any advice really on what to do and see and where to stay so as i can make a decision on where to go .

far from nuts , i forgot to mention i call uk regular......went to ais today in tukcom and it seems my sim is old and needs updating for 3g, will go back tomorrow as they advised me and top up around 600 baht per month for 5mb of internet.

im in thailand 6 weeks allready, currently putting around 1000 baht per week into my one2call phone. im not getting much out of it and certainly not even getting internet allowance.

who is cheapest provider ? where can i top up to get internet on phone and how much should i top up ?
