  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 116 seconds
  2. This depends on how many years have been paid in. Looks like the OP has very few years accumulated, in which case those pre 2016 years would certainly count. It is as you say a bit of a minefield, and important to get specific information from the Future Pensions Centre on qualifying years for each individual case.
  3. Well worth the investment. The cost of funding a full state pension is around a quarter of a million pounds on current annuity rates. Any NIC's paid in are recouped within around 3 years after pension age. On the downside the pension is frozen if living in Thailand, and pension reforms (means testing etc) may happen in the coming years.
  4. Did you find anything? Looking here as well for calls to UK, with credit based top up rather than subscription.
  5. Maybe weed as well, some of which could certainly be described as having a "musty odour".
  6. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 221 seconds
  7. Could have done without that second photo...
  8. True, but I'm comparing it to the table in the OP which refers to new state pension only (£185.15pw in 2022/23). Although it compares miserably with other European countries, the UK state pension has actually doubled in the past 10 years (£115.95pw @ April 2015, £230.25pw @ April 2025).
  9. That looks like the 2022 figure, it's currently £958.53, rising 4.1% in April.
  10. Maybe the guy had tried to talk his gf into having a threesome, and she agreed, "with one condition"...
  11. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 154 seconds
  12. 420 is quite a precise number. It's almost as if this idea was hatched under the influence of the devil's lettuce...
  13. You could get two 4s for the same price as an 8.
  14. Any experience from people who have completed this questionnaire? If informing Nationwide about non residence I'm wondering what they do next.
  15. Just read it as well. According to this Nationwide should allow existing accounts to remain open. https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/which-banks-allow-you-to-keep-your-account-as-an-expat-aIiEs1i49WTf
  16. It would have been fine but for the guy who kept ringing the bell to buy all the stewardesses a drink...
  17. Mattress City has some good brands often with decent discounts: https://mattresscity.co.th/th?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiApY-7BhBjEiwAQMrrEXfzdboaFGDn03S5DIFwSKPu4fkDMnnEINP4gojYYFDiLuEAf8lljxoC7b4QAvD_BwE

  19. I noticed I have a TIN listed on one of my savings account statements here in relation to the (very low) interest rates given. Is this the same number the RD is talking about?
  20. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 164 seconds
  21. If you don't fancy the pills you could perhaps try switching to a Non ED visa?
  22. Thanks for the dark mode, appreciated.
  23. Pretty sure TPC has sent you the correct answer here. The 5 year membership expires 3rd January, and immigration made an error stamping you beyond that date. Until a few years ago getting a 6th year out of the 5 year elite was common practice, but more recently immigration had a problem with it - I remember comments on the forum where people were warned they'd be on overstay if they stayed beyond the expiry of their membership. How much this is enforced is anyone's guess, given that immigration officers are clearly still stamping people beyond the 5 year mark. Edit. Just saw your second email response from TPC. A few years ago they were writing to members toward the end of their membership expiry warning of overstay consequences of staying beyond the 5 years. It seems like their muddled response in their second message to you shows they've since backed down from this position.
