If these figures are true a big round of applause to everyone involved. Thailand has less death's than almost all Western countries.
Along with Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, even Hong Kong. All who have even better figures than Thailand!

I know you can't get sick from the shot.
I've had similar reactions to the shot. Although you can't get the 'flu from the shot, you can develop 'flu like symptoms.

Finally, all the borders will remain closed.
Which is the main reason for the drop in numbers. Not local restrictions. Social distancing has been a joke. I've yet to see a local use the sanitiser when entering 7/11 or the like. Of course the government will claim it's because of the lock down.

So far, Air Asia is the only airline that has indicated it will resume flights on May 1,
One out of the 20 airlines in the discussion!! I'm sure it's cheaper for the airlines to remain grounded.

I am still waiting to see the party goer from Chaiyaphum to be added to the death numbers and added to the provinces numbers to me it shows that not all numbers are correct
The only report of this comes from The Nation and it's related Thaiger. It was copied by a Singapore newspaper but credited to The Nation.
I'd be more inclined to query the report rather than the figures.

Haha. Some people just can't see a joke when it's staring them in the face. Your cartoon you included was a bit of a give away.

That backfire must have hurt. His orange face started to turn red, especially when Fauci backed it up.
Brilliant.

Many Thais are arriving without 'Fit to Fly' certificates. They're not being refused from boarding and they still get through immigration. These certificates are almost impossible to get. 'Fit to Fly' certificates are issued by the Thai Embassy. In the UK, for example, the Thai Embassy and the consulates are closed.

Seasonal 'flu deaths this year : 151,544
Seasonal 'flu deaths today: 948
The 'flu season this year is expected to have deaths on the high side as the vaccine is not a great match for the current mutation.
Worldometers.

Viruses do mutate. It's a natural progression. However they don't mutate at the same rate. The last mutation of polio was found in the Congo in 2010. They managed to eradicate the mutation. The polio vaccine for all three types of the disease is highly effective.
In contrast, the 'flu virus mutates every year and the 'flu shot has to be developed ahead of the mutation. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes not. The match for 2020 is a long way from perfect and therefore deaths from 'flu is expected to be in the high numbers this year.

The Health Minister of Thailand!!
First he posts a picture of himself and others demonstrating the absolute opposite of 'social distancing'. Then he opens his mouth. Not a wise thing to do because every time his mouth opens, out comes a torrent of BS.
What a plonker!!

Not sure where Khaowong1 got the idea that there's no vaccine for polio. The first one was developed in 1950. There were others developed after that. Jonas Salk developed his vaccine in 1955 and the oral vaccine came into play in 1961.
There are two vaccines that have all but eliminated polio globally.
Both vaccines are on the WHO's list of essential vaccines.

Read a report that a Yank company named Gilead Science is already in the third stage of testing.
I think you're confusing a vaccine with a therapy. Gilead Science is currently well down the road in testing Remdesivir for the treatment of covid19.
In the meantime, two very different vaccines start human trials today in the UK. As both vaccines are so different, the failure of one will not bring down the other. They have said that if trials go well, then a vaccine will be available for manufacture by September. That shows a lot of optimism. Even if it's developed to their timescale, it will still take some time for manufacture and be available to the public. Fingers crossed.

Hua Hin is now officially virus free. Zero active cases and zero quarantines. Just the one death on a train from BKK.

Only a week or two ago weren't we told there was no way of contracting the virus from a corpse?
It was Thailand who reported the first case of infection from a corpse. He was a forensic medical examiner.

2 kids on a bike (one was 13) on a deserted road and that prompted a high speed police chase with all lights and sirens active.
QuoteThe use of police sirens is to alert a community that a cop is on their way to a call. By sounding their sirens, and activating lights, cops are asking for the right of way.
Yep. Warning the non-existent traffic!! Their actions could have caused serious injury or death. Keystone comes to mind.

Is this guy for real? He's a perfect example of the people 'running' this country.

And still Cha-cha-cha says that extending the lock down past 30th is still on the table. He will meet to discuss options next week.

Oh dear!
It gives the number of confirmed cases as 15.
Of those, it gives the number of recoveries as 12.
That leaves 3. 2 are in hospital and one is dead.
Got it?

This is a copy of a post I made elsewhere:
Apparently, the curfew will remain in place for another month until the end of May. Very limited relaxation of restrictions are expected. We didn't really have a 'curve' to flatten. A one day peak on March 22nd of 188 followed by 10 days of 100 - 150, mostly in the low end. Since then it's been on a downward direction. Thailand has 655 active cases across the whole country and 48 deaths, mostly in BKK and it's neighbours.
More than half of the provinces (around 44) are virus free including 9 provinces that have never had any infections. Yet still we see no significant easing of restrictions. Actually quite the opposite.
In contrast just to take one state in the US. Georgia have over 18,500 active cases and 775 deaths. The Republican governors of Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina moved to let some businesses reopen, including gyms, restaurants and beaches, though social distancing protocols will remain in effect to varying degrees.Other states are allowing theatres, social clubs and the like to open. Some from as soon as next Monday.
Is the government here living on a power kick? In the meantime, the country is going down the swanee and taking a lot of it's citizens with it.
Edit: Just to add to that, Georgia has a population of 10.5 million. Thailand: 69.5 million!Let's see what happens when they open up in the US. If numbers are unaffected even though numbers remain high proves that lockdowns have served their purpose but they're not needed anymore.
It may turn out to be a massive mistake which will cause Trump to have one of his 'hissy fits'. We'll see.

One clue will be if this season's flu stats, still in the pipeline, turn out to be unusually low.
Well currently, the figures are heading for the high side. This was expected as the mismatch in the vaccines for 2020 is greater than usual.
You have to bear in mind that the vaccines are usually formulated around September of the year before. Much of it is made on 'educated guesses'. So sometimes they don't get it quite right.

The reason there are fewer fiu deaths is because they are being classed as covid 19, this is only my opinion but to me it makes sense.
The only flaw in your logic means that a number of deaths are 'assumed' to be covid-19. i.e. no test.
Although testing has been haphazard to say the least, I do believe the majority of deaths would have been tested. The first case in Thailand was being treated for Dengue Fever. Only after he died, a test showed he was positive for Covid-19.
I may be wrong.
Flu kills around 250 - 500,000 globally. With around 150,000 to date, we're on target. There's no evidence that 'flu deaths are less than usual. The vaccine for 2020 is far from a good match so deaths are expected to be at the high end.
