E-Z Retirement Extension - Jomtien
Skeptic7 replied to Skeptic7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yep...get that meaningless notice every year here at Jomtien and promptly file it in the nearest ????️ upon exting the building. It's then forgotten for 12 months untill they give it to me again next annual extension. Receive, rubbish, repeat. ????️ ???? -

True enough. Too bad so sad for those who must attend in high season. Fortunately I don't, so won't be reporting back. Once a year is plenty and in & out in a flash with no hassle. At least they are making some improvements. -
E-Z Retirement Extension - Jomtien

I formerly resided in BKK. CW was a freakin' "daymare"❗Loathed that place and always dreaded going. Walk (literally) in the park (on the beach) in Jomtien. Have never had the slightest issue here. Everything was an issue at CW...plus heapin' helpins' of "baditude". Love BKK but glad for not dealing with CW any longer. -

ONLINE 90 day reports. Posters from some provinces complaining about 3-6 day online approval wait times. -
E-Z Retirement Extension - Jomtien

Only a 5 minute walk for me. Can see the Chonburi Immigration sign from my windows, so never gave it much thought. But yeah, agreed...major hassle if not close by. -
Lots of smack still talked about Jomtien Immigration, but not from me. From same day approvals for online 90-day reports (only 1 (one) hour earlier this month)...to in & out in 20 minutes yesterday for annual retirement extension. Returned today to pick up and was in & out in 3 minutes. Good to go for another year. They've made improvements outside as well, with a big covered queue area protected from the elements with chairs and free chilled water...to an air-con reception desk + 90-day report and seated waiting for those still doing in-person reports. These improvements were certainly much needed and long overdue, but very welcomed and appreciated. ????

Here's how Trump's historic day in court will unfold
Skeptic7 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This Trump appointed "judge" is as unscrupulous as he is. She's in his pocket and has already been overruled TWICE by higher courts for abuse of power, as she made totally unjustified Trump favorable rulings. Almost as if she doesn't even know LAW. Hopefully this gross Trumpism and gross Trump sycophantic insanity ends soon...with him behind bars❗ -

Egomaniac. To flaunt them. Show off. Brag & boast. Mom mom look at me look at me!...she never looked. He had a ???? mother and a-hole father and he turned into the gross, immature child, attention starved piece of ???? monster he is and always has been and always will be. He's an attention craving, malignant narcissist and menace to civil society. Needs to be severely disciplined and hopefully spend his miserable remaining years in a matching orange jumpsuit behind vertical bars. -

Put her DOWN❗ Needs to be exterminated. The minute after she craps that poor child out... buh-bye ???? -
Nothing new or unheard of. I did similar to you every other month or two for 20 years. In 2016 all the bells and whistles went off entering at Suvarnabhumi. Was escorted over to talk to a high ranking officer. She said 'no problem this time and you can enter on Visa Exempt, but please get the proper visa as you are living here and not a tourist'. She was very nice and polite, but made me promise I would get a visa...and took me at my word. I kept my promise and have been on annual Retirement Extensions since.

There's so little money in books nowadays, especially second hand, unless they have some collectors value...rare, out of print, hard to find...or of some specialized topic like nature guides, birds, butterflies. Haven't found a shop in Thailand, not just Pattaya, that buys books...but rather will give credit towards future purchases.

Correct. Me too...report my foreign interest earnings as income on my annual 1040. About 8 or so years ago TurboTax started asking if had a foreign bank account? Answer YES, then it asks if at any moment during the year did it exceed $10,000 USD? If answer is NO, then done. If answer is YES, then further questions to determine if IRS Form 8938 needs to be included...and this is when those higher amounts, based on residency, come in to play. -

While agreed we should not have to do it, it's a simple online doc that can be completed in 5 mins. The actual USD amounts before having additional IRS Tax Forms to be filed are much higher. $50-75,000 in a Thai bank. And if spending most/all of the year outside the USA, then the limit goes up to $200,000 in Thai bank before additional IRS forms are necessary. -

Doom & Gloom for The USA is as old as The USA. This early-retired US expat don't think 'too mutt'. Already made my substantial fortune and diversified. The greenback collapse may happen, but not in my remaining years. After that...don't give a ????❗ Agree the US has an over-abundance of political woes and gridlock + old men obsession. One correction to your assessment of the 2 candidates...BOTH are old men. And yes, one is also a certified moron...federally indicted on 7 counts (thus far), corrupt, insecure, delusional, toxic narcissistic menace found guilty of defamation and sexual battery. I could go on...and on but everyone knows his playlist, even those that miserably try to deny it. Wish Pita or similar was POTUS. Thailand lucky to have this brilliant young guy and pleasantly shocking the population realized that. Now if only he becomes PM and not disqualified or oustered. -
Plenty in the minibar, in the room. Here on a weekend getaway and wanted a few draughts outside and a bottle of wine with dinner in a restaurant. Ended up bringing 7-11 food back to the room and red wine from the minibar. Saved me some baht fo sho❗????

Visiting Phuket over this weekend and just sat down at a restaurant and was slapped with "cannot...no an-con-hol today". Walking Street has plenty of confused tourists looking at all the shuttered bars and clubs. Why ❓❗❓ Regardless of reason... STOO-PID
