Just another day to me. Zero meaning or relevance. An overrated commercialized religious myth holiday. Great for children tho. Never had any of those. As for travel...I always drive or fly during non-holidays, with the exception being 2 years back. Spent 10 days including 25th in very rural SW Surin province. Was great, as not once was Xmas mentioned and never even crossed anyone's mind, including mine.

Upon arrival back from 10 days out of Thailand earlier this year, tried online in Jomtien. Was rejected and instructed to report in person. Was in and out in 25 minutes.

Formerly lived in BKK and dealt with CW. Was always a LONG, rude, inconvenient fustercluck. So happy to report in Chon Buri these past 4 years. It's not perfect by a long shot, but a damn sight better than CW. Online in Jomtien since the new 90-day online report started a couple years ago. Never took more than 2 days for approval and usually same day. Got a new PP this year and left the country after that, so my last 2 reports were in-person...in and out in 20-30 minutes.

We play every draw...usually 2 tickets. Have won B2000 a few times, but last win was many years ago now. If we won B6 or B12 million...would just give it to my wife. I/we don't need it, but wife's family would certainly benefit from it. She would build a small house in her home town too. I could easily build a nice house there, but I flat-out refuse as I find nothing appealing in Surin other than her elderly and wonderful parents and their dog. We just got back home from 12 nights there...and that was more than enough for another half year. 🤣

Went there once in 2000 on a glorious, unseasonably cool early November day. It was fab back then and happy to hear it still is. A couple 35mm film camera snaps from there 24 years ago. 👍

I much prefer messaging to voice calls nowadays, but my brother and my best friend don't and they call too frequently...without even a courtesy msg to ask if I'm free to talk. Then they ramble on an hour and sometimes two❗My bro for 90% of the "conversation" and my friend for 99%. 🤣

Thank you for the kind words. Both were extremely awful and challenging and wasn't sure I would make thru either...and really didn't want to make it after losing my gf. The murder still haunts me frequently, but not daily (or even weekly) nowadays. Still dealing with the cancer, but feeling fine and strong now. No guarantees, as now is all we've got. 'Will worry about tomorrow when it becomes today' is something I wrote in the closing of my tribute to her after her death. 👍

Roll with it, adapt, keep learning and enjoying every day I've got and accepting the cards I'm dealt. It's been a rough road these past 4 years...gf of 9 years murdered in our house here 4 years ago (2 full years to mostly, kinda-sorta "heal" from that, as best as that is even ever possible)...bile duct cancer diagnosis in January of this year. Radical and complicated 5 hour surgery (Whipple procedure if anyone is interested. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy)...10 days recovery in hospital and 3 months at home until began returning to "normal"...6 months of chemo just ended 2 months ago. Feeling great again...finally. Did a road trip to Khao Yai NP, Surin, Korat, Pak Chong and up to Udon in July (myself and another driver)...then 10 days in South Africa in September, including 6-day Safari. Just got back from 12-day road trip (myself the lone driver) to Surin and Buriram. Planning on a return to South Africa this upcoming February...road trip to Kaeng Krachan NP in January...Chiang Mai, Chiang Dao & Doi Inthanon in March and will likely opt to drive my own vehicle up north this time, making hiking and photography stops along the way, instead of the usual fly up and rent a car. Life is short (and not always sweet)...gotta play hard and keep on keepin' on.
