Thailand Crowned Best Country to Visit in 2024
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well if I return to Thailand in 2024, I hope the weather is much cooler than it was in March. Not sure if i will be back anytime before December, when it should be a bit cooler. -

Idiots live all over the world , this guy is one of them. IMO -
Krabi Faces Water Shortage, Phi Phi Islands Sans Tap Water
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
I was on a tour to Phi Phi Islands and the toilets and basins used sea water for flushing, and washing hands. Lots of ocean water still available for these puroples. This was at one of the parks on one of the islands. -
Thai Airways bids farewell to iconic Boeing 747 ‘Queen of the Skies’
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
These B747 will make great freighters, and fly for a lot more years. I loved flying on them, the seating even in economy had lots of leg room, and the carry on fitted in overhear compartments just fine as well. -
Officials Concerned Over Potential Overcrowding in Pattaya and Phuket
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I read recently that it is Low Season, so what is this story about? Is TAT or just Thai Immigration saying that there are too many tourist about? Maybe the heat is affecting the Government as well. -
Bangkok sizzles at 40°C, heatwave scorches Thailand at 43°C
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wow, and I complain of my hot condeo in Canada when the temperatures get in the mid to high twenties. Glad that I got out of Thailand in March, it was hot enough then as well. -
Thailand offers visa-free travel to Russian visitors for 3 months
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I hope they give the rest of their good status list the 60 day visa free period. Canada only has the 30 day free, I think that USA is only 30 day visa free as well. I guess Russia, a country who has invaded a foreign country Ukrain is more special in the Thai Tourism department eyes? IMO that is not fair, but I am only a tourist to Thailand so I guess I do not matter to the tourism department. -
Plant-based meat popularity fuels new ventures in Thailand
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Plant meat is very high in salt content, just go to any large food store and read how many grams of sodium, (salt) is in these hamburgers, or hot dog style plant meat. I will not even try it at A & W or any other place that sells the junk. -
Phuket hotel boob: Portuguese guest’s topless strut causes chaos
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Why has this tourist not been deported already? RTP are being a bit slow with this case. IMO -
Scorching heat sparks storm warning across 26 Thai provinces
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It was hot enough in March for me and I stayed indoors most of the day, and AC places in the evenings as well. I prefer visiting Thailand Novemver to January most visits. Hot Season is a good reason for me to returm to Canada and enjoy the cool temperatures of Spring time. -
British man fined 5,000 baht for naked stroll on Krabi beach
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
Krabi may be a tourist destination, however there are lots of Muslims who live there and they are a lot more conservative than say places like Pattaya. This stupid tourist is lucky he was only fined for his lack of common sense. IMO Some posters who think Thailand should be like their home country, should be happy that is is not. Cheers. -
Foreign Man Caught Riding a Motorbike on Kamala Beach – VIDEO
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
A tourist on a rental bike, riding on Kamala beach, not very intelligent of this person. I hope the rental company was informed. -
Russian Man Arrested in Phuket with 351 Days of Overstay
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Wow, almost one year overstay should be at least a 10 year if not longer ban for this guy. IMO, I wonder if being Russian he will get a lesser time? -
Two Estonians fined for smoking on Finnair flight into Bangkok
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There are international laws about smoking on a plane, and vaping should face the same fines and jail time, in my opinion. How these brothers got a lesser fine and not jail time so far is less than what they should have gotten for smoking on an international flight. -
Chinese investors linked to cadmium tailings trade in Thailand
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Is the modern corruption what we used to call ancient Chinese secrets? Just wondering. -
Foreigner condemned for driving car on Kamala Beach in Phuket
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
So this jerk is a duel citizen Thai and Chinese by the sounds of it, I do hope he gets a good fine and has to explain his attitude, especially if the car isw a rental. -
Foreign woman criticised for urinating on Bangla Road, Phuket
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Well the Chinese still have this activity being done very often. I saw it during many tours in China. When you have to go and there are no safe alleyways to dart into, what other choice is there? Peeing your self lools and feels pretty horrible. For the Thais who were offended, quit being so sensitive. Really, I have seen many Thais relieve themselves, during my many visits to Thailand as well. -
I also seen a clip where a Texas solar farm was severly damaged after a hail storm passed over a large part of it and totally destroyed a lot of the solar panels. Oh and those large windmills are pretty high maintenance as the blades, and bushings are not that long lasting and the blades cannot be recycled. Of course we the public do not get great news stories about this situation. At least Thailand does not have cold weather problems, with frost issues and such. Not sure how the big windmills operate in high winds as well, or if Thailand has enough windy days on the plains to make windmills viable. Just my thoughts.

Teenager Injured in Violent Clash on Phuket Bridge
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It is the wild wild East these days, lot of guns out there, be careful with facial loss. -
None of my Thai relatives plan on getting an EV any time soon. They do not even trust the hybrids. Most of my relative have either a Honda, Izuzu or Toyota and plan to keep them 8 to 10 years. The charging stations are not easy to find in the smaller places in Thailand, The same goes for western Canada. The large cities in Canada have some charging stations, but in smaller towns, it is hard to find a lot of charging stations. Granted there will be more and more charging stations built in Canada, but for now I would only be interested in a hybrid as it will get me to my destination for sure. Harvey

During my klast visit this year, I seen more than 50 percent of Motercycle riders without helmets. Women especially do not want their hair mussed up. The amount of toruists without helmets was troubling, and i bet a lot of them did not have out of country medical insurance. I am happy to be back home in cooler tempertures, even the snow on the ground does not bother me. Hot season in Thailand is not for me. I also seen many drunk people riding motercycles, and am not surprised to read this story of a young tourist dying from a crash. RIP to this fellow, and good luck to all of you with this hot season.

Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
is this not attempted murder in most countries? Just curious what the outcome will be in this case?
