12 Thais may have been killed in Hamas attack in Israel
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well, I will not be going to Gaza for a vacation. I am allergic to bombs, and Hamas. Just what the world needs . Another war. -
Even when I ride a motorbike around the Hua Hin area, I am very watchful. I do not trust many drivers in Thailand. Over the years I have seen too many bad drivers and some who deliberately try to scare motorbike and bicycle riders as well. RIP to these bike riders. Good Luck to the rest in the future. I wuill never ride a bicycle in Thailand, I think it is just far too dangerous. Harvey M

British man recounts shocking encounter with racist Russians in Phuket
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I knew a Brit who lived in Thailand for 20 years, as his neighbor hood in Britain was taken over by ME folks. He also showed me some pictures of a mixed crowd in a British shopping market, and I was surprised of all the different people who had immigrated to the UK, and got to call them selves Brits. It is a mixed world we all get to live in, and No one should force their music on any one else. If in a Russian owned restaraunt, I would expect to listen to some Russian music. If I felt I did not like the music, i would pay my bill and move else where. Maybe some people including this black Brit are just too sensitive? IMO -
Buoyant EV market raising skill gap concerns
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
EVs do not do well when they are submerged in water, some even catch on fire. Hence the Tesla warning. The tires do not last that long either because of the extra weight an EV weighs. I would rather have a hybrid. -
Quit the fake news about bad air. I have spent many Winters from December to March, and the air has been far better than the blue haze of Chiang Mai, or other parts of northern Thailand. The presence of the Military and police, makes me feel a bit safer than when I am in Pattaya. I have a nice guest house where I get a clean room with laundry service near by as well. I also know of many good eating places in Hua Hin for my vacations.

Brexit: UK could rejoin EU as an ‘associate member’
Stargeezr replied to Social Media's topic in World News
How close to bankrupt are most of the EU countries, Greece, Spain, Italy, and more. UK may be having its issues, but rejoining the Eu would be just another big mistake. Maybe if France would keep some of the refugees that keep crossing to the UK, the UK would be in better shape. Right? -
Thailand is not the only country where these big structures get blown down. I have seen these structures blown down or away in the USA and Canada as well, likely it happens all over the world if the winds are strong enough. Here on the forum though, there are lots of arm chair experts who think these things are built too weak.

South Korean Tourists Splash Beer at Pattaya Women and Get Slapped
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
So 2 Korean guys get drunk, act up then get beaten up. Maybe they deserved it. Visitors to Thailand have to behave, or pay the penalty. Enuff Said. -
Sub-district Chief Will Not Escape Justice: Deputy Police Chief
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The deputy national police chief. Pol Gen Surachate Kahkparn, seems to be a decent fellow, and certainly does not deserve his nick name uttered by us Farangs. I hope he des get promoted to an even high position in the force. And this is no Joke. -
Spanish soccer president resigns after unwanted kiss
Stargeezr replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Finally. This macho guy should have had the decency to apologize, but no, he had to show his arrogance and it cost him. I hope the lesson was learned for other macho men in the world. The world is changing and that is a good thing. -
Crane Collapse in Sukhumvit 23 Kills Engineer, Injures Two Workers
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Fleeing the accident scene is common practice in Thailand. Safety does not seem to be popular either. My opinion. -
Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Pattaya Mayor Over Condo Approval Case
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
So this great guy supposedly fled Thailand to avoid arrest. I hope he is put on a red alert and gets sent back to Thailand to face justice in the future. -
American Arrested in Bangkok Following Phuket Incident
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It does not matter which country the guy is from. He looks like a slob, and I am glad they caught him. It would be nice to hear how much money he has to pay, as well as how much jail time, and if they deported him as well. Good. -
Thaksin submits application for royal clemency
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I wonder just how many weeks Thaksin spends in a jail cell, versus some more comfortable surroundings? My guess is not many. -
More Mysterious Debris Washes Ashore in South Thailand
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
This part has a window that may be from some sort of either submarine or space ship., I cannot see an aircraft needing a collar like this on its windows. Just my thoughts. Hopefully some expert will enlighten us all on these parts being found. -
