31% of Thais eye battery electric vehicles as next car choice
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If you are in a flood zone, do not own an EV. They are not very good on handling water on the battery and connections. Fires can be the result. When they catch fire, it is not very easy to put out as well. I will not be going electric until everything is in order. Charging stations all over, and the batteries have to be cheaper. Oh do you know that EVs are very heavy and the maintenance is high because of torque issues and worn out parts. Do not let teens drive these EVs for sure. Just my two cents worth of advice. -
Bangkok Pride parade aims to boost Thailand’s 2028 World Pride bid
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I find it strange that a group of people need their own flag, colored crosswalks, (in Canada), a special time of year for Pride week, or Pride month etc. As a senior all I like is the Canada flag, and the provincial flag where I live. The LGBTQ Plus 2 spirits, and the rest are some what confusing. The trans group and the Binary group especially. IO guess I am just too old fashioned. -
Planet caused, climate warming, does not make any one rich, that is why we are getting the blame for climate change. It is not that anyone cannot see the change in the weather patterns like El Nino and La Nina, etc. as well. No Us humans have to pay lots of money because if the Earth heating itself up with Volcanoes and maybe the interior is also getting hotter again, it would not make any one richer. Just my opinion.

The Upper Atmosphere Is Cooling, Prompting New Climate Concerns
Stargeezr replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
Volcanoes. heating the lower atmosphere? Earth warming itself up? Is that also possible? -
Since CO2 is less than one half of one percent of the atmosphere and Methane is a trace gas, I find it silly for anyone to think that any of these trace gases or near trace gases are considered to be the great cause of climate change. The earth is warming itself up as it has done so in the past, that is my opinion anyway. Hearing your article on the Aviation authority wanting CO2 levels and fuel usage is a bit silly as well. I guess the Green gang will feel better with the results of all this. Harvey M

At least Britain does not have to keep supporting the bankrupt or nearly bankrupt countries of the EU. Greece, Italy, maybe Spain for sure. The extra unemployed immigrants and refugees that have landed on the UK shores have not helped the situation as well, thanks France. Just saying that Brexit was ill timed, but would staying in the Eu been such a great alternative?

This is what tourists to Hua Hin will look like in 2033
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
When I visited Hua Hin in the past, every weekend the crowds of under 30s from Bangkok showed up and could be seen on walking street, and a few other places. During the week the old crowds could be seen around the city, and that was fine with me. Soi 88 used to get very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, with the live band and lots of young and old enjoying dinner and the entertainment. Just remembering life before COVID. Harvey -
I have rented many 125 cc Honda motorcycles, and they are good to get around on. One thing that I did notice over the years was young tourists renting the larger motorcycles and racing them around, sometimes very close to out of control, so I am not at all surprised to hear of the 15 deaths. Young and dumb, is all I could think when these guys went racing by. Most people rent the bikes and have a good holiday, RIP to those foolish ones who kill themselves in Thailand on the big bikes. Wagner boss says he will pull troops out of Bakhmut

Both this guy, Putin and Trump seem to tell the same amount of truthful stuff. Well in my opinion anyway. -
So the USA is still a dangerous place to visit. There is the Mexican American, and this incident, and how many others will happen in May? Top country for mass killings is not where I would like to live. Those thoughts and prayers that get offered, are wearing thin. Maybe the NRA folks should take a bit of the blame. IMO

Electric Vehicle Registrations Increase for 3rd Consecutive Month
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I was told by an ex Tesla owner. 8000 dollars for 4 new tires. He paid 1200 dollars to replace a rear light assembly. After 2 years he had shorter battery range, and had to travel at times with no heat, and no cooling just to make the destination. He now drives a hybrid vehicle. EV tech is not the answer unless the owner is only driving around the city, and has a second vehicle to go over 500 miles or 800 kms. per day. Harvey -

Thai man fined and sentenced to prison over craft beer review

I do remember the green Chang beer dresses, but I still prefer Singha beer, so am waiting for some of that company's pretty dress wearers. I guess us Foreign visitors should just drink the beer we like the best and not get too critical. -

Senior Swiss spends last of his days in Thailand Jail. Is that how the head line should read? Maybe he will spend some time in Thailand, then the rest back in his home country. -
Thailand is hot, and the rainy season has not done anything to cool the country down. This time of year is Spring in the northern half of the world and most people are enjoying the last of cool and coldish weather. Hence it is the low tourist season. Besides with all the crop burning happening, most tourists do not enjoy the high levels of pollution. Just to remind some posters, why some of us only travel to the Tropical countries, when it is last Fall, October until Winter is over which is about April for most of Canada. earlies for those lucky Americans.
