  1. I don't mind the questions re my lady, I know I took a risk when I posted the photo.

Yes I have met her family, her family on one side are wealthy, her cousin is just back from Montreal after completing a degree in French. The family own several businesses and they intend to target the Francophone tourist market to aid expansion as everyone is Fluent in English already. Bizarrely the exception to the rule was my lady, her English was poor when I met her.

Last month her cousin paid for his mother and 3 aunts to fly down to BKK and then move on to Hua Hin for a family holiday in a top class hotel. Money is no object in that side of the family.

Her family on the other side are not as wealthy, she hardly sees them as her Dad died when she was a teenager, she has no siblings, only her Mum. I have visited their home, decent size and they own a used car dealership. The last time I saw them 22 of them showed up at my ladies restaurant for dinner, how much did that cost me? Zilch. Ya refused to allow me to pay for the meal, told me the family has it's own money and I should concentrate on my lady.

Incidentally I met my lady when she worked in a hotel in CM, she worked in the cafe to help fund her through her degree.

I will point out that there are several TV members including females who know my lady and some have known her for years, I'll let the first mention that she was involved in the sex trade go as that is the automatic assumption. I posted the photo to challenge the assumption.

Too many guys here have a blinkered view of Thai women, some know that there is a vast army out there that won't interact with farangs, that despise the farangs for treating them all like prostitutes, and despise the women that sell their bodies.

Some of you will never know just how reviled you are in Thailand. Thais have the same attitude to hookers that we have, the old stories run true about rough hookers catching the desparate men, and building Hooker Height dripping in Gold and comparing I phones.

You wouldn't marry a rough hooker in your own country would ya? So why do it in Thailand?

A lot of you are selling yourselves short, there are plenty of good women in Thailand that would love to date a good farang man. Don't be seen with bar girls as you will mark yourself out as monger right away and disqualify yourself. Where to find these women?

Everywhere.....they cut your hair, wait at your table, own the little cafe you frequent, you get the idea. They would never reduce themselves to prostitution, they would rather work for 6,000 baht a month than shame themselves. These are the ladies that you will meet every day in life, that's before you start meeting the ladies in the Thai economy such as nurses, bank workers etc

Look around yourself, you are surrounded by good women who revile the sex trade, and revile mongers. If you are looking

To meet a good Thai woman, look outside the girlie bars. There are plenty waiting for you.

But you didn't answer any of the questions.

I'm not judging your girlfriend, more questioning why someone from a decent family would get such a cheap tattoo in such an obvious location, and why she dresses the way she does. What does her family think about it? What do you really think about it? Would you prefer she didn't have it?

My wife is from a decent family and there is absolutely no way she would ever get a tattoo, or her family would allow it.

And to be honest, she does pre-judge girls with tattoos.

  2. Just back from following the wife around at the outdoor market at prince Royals and Index... didn't hear anything but nagging.

That's because I was crying on the inside...spent hours at Prince's market myself with two boys/monks (relatives of wifey) who stopped and perused at EVERY amulet seller and general purveyor of stones/carvings/etchings/rubbings/ointments/icons.

Ended up sweating like a wookie at a waxing but can't drink water as the monks won't..... but they did knock of my 1.25 litre refrigerated Sprite when we got home. B*st*rds........

Back to the OP...same here zip nil nada siren wise whole time I was there....

"Ended up sweating like a wookie at a waxing".

    That's funny.

  3. Planning to move our company, we requested tariff for phone/internet connection. We expected this to be awfully expensive since no wiring so far in that area.

Cost of wiring up to the plot: 7 THB/meter. At this rate you can afford some distance from civilization. there were existing poles (old, unused) they will use to support their new line.

Mitker, I had looked into that and the cost was similar, but TOT and 3BBB both told me that the Internet connection on that line would be very weak so I did not do it.

I am having to put a dedicated Internet line in from 3BB and it is not cheap per month.

You might want to confirm where the nearest repeater's are and if the Internet signal will be strong.

  4. "BANGKOK: -- Bangkok police will seek an arrest warrant to apprehend Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya – who is a suspect in the hit-and-run Ferrari accident that left a Thonglor policeman dead – if he does not turn himself in for questioning soon."

The word "soon" has given the police plenty of outs on issuing this warrant.

The kid will turn up when all his "defense" ducks are in a row.

Right now he is content to watch Scooby Doo cartoons and eat Fruit Loops out of the box in his jim-jams.

  5. Here's one thing to consider....after reading this entire thread....has anybody ever

considered that the lady in question may be a professional model?

I'm married to one. Here's how it goes...clothed, bikini and "sexy" (can be nude

but hands, hair, objects etc must cover nipples & lower bits) pix are OK with the

wife. Home movies & topless are OK as long as I fully understand said footage

and pix never make it to the internet...I could easily end up missing a piece of

my anatomy and most likely end up paying her a lot more than 3 Mil Baht and

of course possiblysome jail time too boot.

Reason...Thai models, the "legit" ones anyway who work with agencies

such as Ford or Elite have a reputation to protect...that's why they earn

an excellent salary and get all those other job perks their Western

    counterparts get.

    Now if the lady in question isn't a professional or perhaps I should say;

a legit modeling agency model...and she reckons the girls who pose for

internet pictures get a lotta money...she's <deleted> dreaming. Simple nude

shoots, depending on the model start around 3500Baht for the shoot

which usually lasts about 2 hours. If the nude model has experience

of course she can command a higher modeling fee but 3 Million Baht

...Hah! Just sip satang from a pro photog who knows a bunch of models

    of all persuasions.

Take it from one who was married to a top "legit" as you call it model, and also a top actress in feature films, that your head will probably be more comfortable when you pull it out of the sand. Working for 3500 baht for a couple of hours? Enjoy the perks like U.S. counterparts of Elite and Wilhelmina Models? You can't be serious. Even the average girls at the top modeling agencies have minimums twenty to fifty times that and they don't work by the hour because two hours or ten hours, the day is shot and there is no time to book another job on the same day. Having worked in that industry as a photographer for enough decades to know, those girls don't do anything like you have described. Partial nudity? Sure, in the context of a shoot for a bonafide client and always in the presence of a professional staff. Posing for some guy with hands covering vital spots with the promise they won't be posted on the Internet? OMG, a little coffee is in order.

We book models regularly and I can guarantee you will not get any "professional" model (as in works for an agency) for 3,500 baht - her travel fee alone will be more than this.

...in fact the make up artist and photographer are more than this.

Perhaps we have a different understanding of "professional model".

  6. I went back and read the question. Here are the answers.

    Q. Since when is it usual, to charge Farangs 800.-BAHT for bringing a girl into a hotel?

    A. It has been "usual" for many years. Price varies by hotel.

    Q. or they should generally say NO BARGIRLS ALLOWED here... what kind of new politics is this in LoS?

    A. This is not new "politics" in LOS. As stated previously, it has been this way for many years.

    Q. is it not a rule to state it somewhere BEFORE the guest is booking a room for a couple of thousand Baht a day?

    A. No, it is not a "rule". It is up to the discretion of the person staying at the hotel to check prior to booking.

    Any other questions?

  7. In a way I have to agree with Moskito. On the Phuket forum it is always the same "wolf pack" that attack a poster without having the decency to answer questions in a civil manner. "This is Thailand, get used to it or piss off" Jeezz how many time times I have read that. It is a bit like some expat bars around the island, you walk in and immediately feel like you are and intruder. The "daily bunch" would look at you as you were an alien and no conversation would be possible. Luckily there are many bars where on is welcomed with a smile and a "how are you mate"

You, very active posters are said wolf-pack and you are destroying this forum.

    What was the question again?

  8. Is it to much to ask to respect people that don't want to see whores at breakfast, in the pool or at reception. Whilst I would never vacation in Patong, many families do.

Seriously, if you want to take whores back to your room, or girls that may be amorous at 4am, find a hotel that is Guest Friendly. There are many in Patong.

    ...and 800 baht?

You probably spent 3,000baht on the room, 4,000baht drinking beer and food, 400 baht on tuk tuk's, 3,000baht for the whore...and you can't afford 800baht?

    You be big pimpin' Playa.

Doesn't matter if the hotel charges 2000 baht for "extra person?" Wealthy tourists will pay it, so, why do they have to "go and find a hotel that is guest friendly" if they can afford the "extra person" charge at any hotel on the island? Once again, on that basis, how does this fee "protect" families from the prostitution here????

Next week there will be around 3500 cashed up American sailors in port. I don't think an "extra person fee" at 3am with a Thai hooker on their arm is going to affect their decision. So much for the "extra person fee" policy being in place to encourage families to stay at that hotel. smile.pngsmile.png

Phuket is all about the money, not about making a nice holiday for families.

Many hotels want their part of the prostitution profits as well.

    You missed my point.

If you want to take whores, rather than complain an 800baht Guest fee, go stay in a Hotel that is whore friendly.

Whether the Guest fee is the Hotels "share" of Patong's prostitution or a feeble attempt at a deterrent, I really could care less. I'm sure it works to a point on both levels.

I bet the OP won't be staying there again...so perhaps it does work.

  10. did he pay for a room with a single bed in which case a fee is payable, but a room with a double bed you have already paid.did you ask him was it worth it.

he paid for a double room via internet. There was no information on further fees ... but its very common to some hotels charging a little fee for bringing a girl in for a night....a little fee usually for using more Electric or hot water....mostly it lands in the pocket of the receptionist directly, I know it from Bkk and its ok with me...but NOT 800.-BAHT like in Deevana Hotel Patong... thats close to another room booked

Just did a quick google for you on this. Prices for extra guests are nearly always more than a little for electric, I have seen 400, 500, 700, 800. Even 5,000 Baht, which basically means: extra guests not wanted. So 800 Baht is not out of the ordinary, but maybe you have not heard about these charges for a while so you're out of the loop on the present prices?

    I agree with Steven.

A "Guest charge" is a subtle message that the hotel do not want you bringing back random prostitutes to their hotel.

Whilst I always enjoy watching the "walk of shame" in what seemed like a good outfit last night leaving the hotel in the morning, I'm not sure families and parents enjoy it as much as I do.

If you are going to take whores back to your room, I'm sure there are plenty of "whore friendly" hotels in Patong. Suggest you try those rather than try and justify your hobbies here.
