New LTR 10 year visa
ThailandRyan replied to roquefort's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Successful in applying for the LTRWP Visa, and obtained being the 15th one issued. The 10 year Visa was stamped into the PP on October 7th on one page, with a 5 year stay also stamped into the passport, and a 5 year multiple re-entry permit stamped into the PP on the opposite page as well. No an agent is not needed as you do it ypurself through the link here: https://ltr.boi.go.th/page/visa-issuance-info.html -
He has already done the stamp swap into the new PP last month. His 90 days is due next month on November 4th. So as you say his new PP is in the system, but your thinking he may have to go and do a report in person. He was also wondering if he could do it by mail. He is elderly and hates crowds, and going to CW last month was very nerve wracking for him, I went with him to help him out.

You will more than likely also end up with the stamp in your PP as I indicated I did and which when translated by another member is the notation allowing the cancelation of the current extension of stay and allowing for the LTR to be placed into the PP. I talked with someone who had wanted t change from their Non Imm O-A extension to a Non Imm-O visa and they were advised they would need to leave the country to kill off the existing extension, then re-enter on a 30 day visa exempt entry and then apply for the Non-O in Thailand. Thankfully, the BOI and LTR program keeps us from having to bounce out and in to have the Visa affixed.

Will new XBB strain cause COVID to resurge in Thailand?
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You really want to go down that road. It was not a deadly fiasco. Again it was very few, and as always with any vaccine there is the possibility of some type of side effect, or even death. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/long-shadow-1976-swine-flu-vaccine-fiasco-180961994/ The real victims of this pandemic were likely the 450-odd people who came down with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, after getting the 1976 flu shot. On its website, the CDC notes that people who got the vaccination did have an increased risk of “approximately one additional case of GBS for every 100,000 people who got the swine flu vaccine.” Several theories as to why this happened exist, they say, “but the exact reason for this link remains unknown.” As for the flu shot today, the CDC writes, if there is any increased risk it is “very small, about one in a million. Studies suggest that it is more likely that a person will get GBS after getting the flu than after vaccination.” -
How much do the average Thai person earn ?
ThailandRyan replied to Baron Samedi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It is exactly what friends and prior family members are currently making in Udon. The ex-BIL's wife who is a dentist makes between 30K-40K a month depending on the extra work she does. If she was in Bangkok she would be making twice that, and more if she had a dental clinic instead of working in a hospital. -

Yet how many are truly healthy as you put it as they age? Not many can maintain the same health as we once did as our bodies systems become damaged and ravaged from daily life. No its not because of certain factors for some of us, I never was obese fat or ate junk, but a major surgery to my neck put me as one with an autoimmune issue and made me a diabetic. -

I never feared Covid, so your saying that the world feared Covid or just the Governments feared it and spread the word as far as cases went. Information is information, not for anything else in my view but to see where things are. Folks also believe the pharmaceutical companies are making a killing, well they may be or they may not be as many gave the vaccines away. Millions were spent on R&D and so companies do deserve to make the money back. JUst wait until generics come out.......end game. This was never about what folks think, this was about ensuring many more than the 6.5 million did not die.... -

So your saying that once you deposit the money into your account, the money ceases to be yours anymore and is a liability. I think you are quite confused with this. True the bank can use the asset as they see fit, but the money is still yours, you never relinquish the legal title to the cash, and when a run on a bank happens the banks can not pay out everything they owe to the depositors, that is the liability of the banks using your money to make money, which is waht a bank is supposed to do. -

Why would those earning a pittance on interest file a Tax Return if there is no actual earned income. There is a statutory minimum needed before filing taxes in the rest of the world. -

Worrying about something is not the same as those who call Covid Fear porn.....I worry about my finances, my kids driving a car, but I never fear any of it.....you guys are just ridiculous with your comparisons of fear and worry and then equate it to what has been put out in the press as more fear driving content, which it is far from.....It is information only to be used by those who see it, read, it etc...to make informed decision as to how they view it. Sorry if you see it as fear.... https://advice.theshineapp.com/articles/the-difference-between-fear-worry/ -

IT is why with K-bank, when I withdraw from the machine I use the withdrawal portion of the K-Bank phone App on scan the QR code on the machine after I have indicated on the app how much money I want, and no charge like if using the ATM card. -

What fear? Just letting folks know about a new variant that could cause issues. True in that they do not broadcast the annual Flue variants like they do with Covid, but once upon a time the Flu variants were discussed globally or did you forger about that. No fear just information. If your believing that it is fear then you have started to believe the people who use terms such as sheeple, fearmonger etc.... -
Ready to give up on my Nissan Juke
ThailandRyan replied to DumbFalang's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Here is a link for you to peruse @DumbFalang https://www.700r4transmissionhq.com/Nissan-Juke-bad-ecm-symptoms/ The ECM is your Juke’s main computer. Almost all of the essential functions of the vehicle are controlled by the ECU/ECM. The ECM takes all of the data from the various sensors, and uses it to operate the engine in a way that is significantly more efficient than traditionally controlled engines. It uses the data from the oxygen sensors, camshaft sensor(s), mass airflow sensor, knock sensors, and much much more to make constant adjustments to the engine. It’s so vital to the operation of your Juke that it won’t run without one. Other than the many performance advantages of an ECM over mechanically controlled engines, it also provides data that can help you diagnose what is wrong with the engine when there is a problem. While modern engines are more complicated than older engines, this data more than evens out the advantage of the older engine.
