He thinks it is his life that gets impacted by others choices and therefore he believes he is god. So many foreigners think others should live just like they do and do as they do, sad state of affairs when folks seem to always get upset at others misfortunes without knowing the true and whole story.

Finally, got ahold of a live person, my case agent today. The system has been having glitches and issues. Those e-mails I received which I posted about were never supposed to have come to me as they were internal, but at the same time the system kept changing my VISA type which I applied for. I was promised today that the IT group has been working on it. I was then sent an e-mail by my case agent and told everything was good and to respond to that e-mail and set up an appointment 3 days or later from todays date. I returned the e-mail with this Fridays date and a time in the afternoon as when I wanted my Visa sealed into my passport and then to be stamped in. I was told that I would receive a follow-up e-mail with further instructions. The actual Application has now changed and will not show me the appointment screen which it had in the past. Can any of you who have been approved double check that notification screen that shows approval and see if the scheduling screen is still there for you. Apparently they have been having many hiccups with the system and are only able to iron it out if we e-mail them the issues we are seeing from our side..

So how does a retiree here, who has never worked in Thailand get onto the SS Scheme, Answer: You can't My GF pays into it and when Covid hit she could not obtain one red satang as she is a Myanmar National, even though she owned her own salon...her Thai employee's however obtained all of the payouts they could grab.

So in your view old people should just sit in the lazy boy recliner rocking back and forth as the days wane away in an overpriced and far from happy lifestyle in their home country instead of enjoying life to it's fullest and where happiness is found.....wow your just a sympathetic and caring individual with a post like yours. More elderly people living a great life here in Thailand.

Yes, filling up bank accounts instead of filling in Areas for flood protection by building more canals and higher levies. -
You and those other naysayers are hilarious. I have opened up two bank accounts using my Pink ID card and the yellow house book. Of course the banks can do what they want, I have lived here long enough to know that, just like the immigration offices do not do things the same. My Bank books are in Thai Script by the way.

Thats what I thought he was alluding to. The reason the school for my GF's daughter wanted the ID card is for obvious registration reasons particularly funding from the government and then for the entry prices charged for Thai's for museums and such versus the price for folks unable to prove they are Thai.

Translation Agency
ThailandRyan replied to ettcuk's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Normally the company who does the translations stamps and certifies the translation as true and correct. Then it can be taken to the MFA where it will be verified and then stamped as a true copy of the original document with a corner folded over, stamped and sealed and then a notarized seal placed on the rear of the document. Many translators around the embassies. -

Thailand could learn a thing or two about locks and levies to move water around and protect the inner areas, but they will not spend the money. -
Lets take some bets on this prediction. Pre-covid levels in 6 months at a minimum they are alluding to, yet with the global economy in near recession and the USD leveling, well slowly sinking the baht and inflation just really starting to kick off, I personally do not see a recovery unti late 2024 early 2025. Tourism is a big part of the economy and unless things change elsewhere Thailand may never see more than 15M tourists a year for awhile.

Looks like Ocean front property. Sad really, that no matter what folks have happen to their house or property they never are able to avoid the repeats as houses are never lifted up above flood levels in those prone areas. Crops are decimated and livelihood's lost. I feel sorry for folks. -

Face masks still mandatory on public transport, cinemas in Thailand
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Back to being very full just like the MRT with everyone coming back to work as well as people going out in the evenings. Only ones not wearing masks on the BTS and the MRT this evening were 50% of the foreigners. Everyone else is wearing them as requested. MBK Mall was very busy tonight as well, and all wearing masks except about 50% of the foreigners -
Yes a foreigner can own a house, the land would be on a leasehold. Just like buying a house in Mexico, except there it is a 99 year lease, or like in the US when you buy a house on BLM land where you lease the land from the BLM. In case of a foreigner buying real estate in Thailand, the ownership of a house can be registered and transferred separately from the land where the house is built; The transfer procedure must be in accordance with the Thailand Civil and Commercial Code; The transfer must be in writing; The transfer must be registered with the Land Department's branch or provincial office. Sale and transfer of ownership of an existing building separate from the land requires the current owner and buyer of the house to strictly conform with the standard procedure at the Land Office.

Moving companies are few and far between for general moving. Most will not disassemble and re-assemble what you want moved.
