A plea deal is available to everyone and are done regularly. What percentage of cases do you think go to court and what percentage are resolved outside of a court room. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2019/06/11/only-2-of-federal-criminal-defendants-go-to-trial-and-most-who-do-are-found-guilty/

Yet instead of taking the Felony to court they arranged a plea deal in which the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor and the gun charge dismissed as long as he completes his probation period. If he fails to complete the probation the charges will be re-instated. You folks must not be aware of how the justice system works and how plea deals are available to all defendants unless they are up for a Third Strike. The Judge who oversaw the agreement is also a Trump appointee. Fair is Fair and the law is the law for everyone regardless of who they are. You must believe that only those who are not associated with someone in power get convicted of the higher charges and do not get to make a plea deal. Sad https://www.politico.com/news/2023/06/20/hunter-biden-reaches-plea-deal-with-feds-to-resolve-tax-issues-gun-charge-00102637 Under an agreement detailed Tuesday in a filing in federal court in Delaware, President Joe Biden’s son will plead guilty to a pair of misdemeanor tax charges. Prosecutors have also charged him with possessing a firearm while being a user of illegal drugs — a felony — but have agreed to dismiss that charge if he completes a two-year period of probation. Hunter Biden, 53, is unlikely to serve time in prison if he complies with release conditions. The deal, subject to approval by a federal judge, calls for both sides to recommend that he be put on probation. The probe was overseen by U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump and was permitted to stay in his post after Joe Biden took office in order to complete the investigation of the president’s son. The White House and the Justice Department have said they did not interfere with Weiss’ investigation.

You keep on banging on about Felony, you do realize the charges being pled to were part of a plea deal, so they had been reduced to get him to plead guilty. You guys amaze me that you can only see it as a conspiracy and one sidedness. Was he convicted, yes he was by pleading to the reduced charges. A win Win for both sides

Just did some research. He is here on a Visa. There was a time when he was under investigation 6 years ago as well. You wonder if his Hi-So connections to his GF's father keeps him out of trouble. -
And many times part of the plea deal to avoid jail time is to attend more drug counseling courses and then show proof of completion. One wonders if part of his plea deal was informal probation where he must deliver a urine sample when called upon to prove he is clean. Seen it happen dozens of times, no not the urine test but the informal probation.

A plea deal generally kicks things down a level from a felony to a misdemeanor, it is a win on both sides, or would you rather not allow Plea deals to be made. As a LEO I had many cases which were felonies, and yes they included obtaining guns falsely, The individuals were allowed to plea to lesser charges as this was a deal presented to the individual. Still a win on the DA's books, and still a conviction. Plus the Plea deals had a stipulation that if the defendant was arrested again for the same or similar offense they would be incarcerated and the original charges reinstated. You folks do understand that no one is above the law but the charges can be reduced if agreed upon, right?

Tragic? How? He took a plea deal instead of facing whatever other charges they had against him. It is a win for the justice system, and yet it does not satisfy you.....go figure. You will continue beating the drum even if the Donald does the same thing and takes a Plea deal. Evidence is evidence and it has to be solid enough to stand the litmus test. When it is overpowering the majority of folks take a plea deal.

I think the point made by the article is that the one in the photo has gone missing. That was due to the construction folks removing it and not replacing it. Maybe they thought it looked unsightly and with the construction being done the city would replace it.......of course that's my view on the article.
