Not quite correct unfortunately this time around. https://www.fxstreet.com/analysis/with-high-inflation-why-isnt-gold-rising-202209051254#:~:text=The sales pitch for gold, real commodity%2C unlike fiat currency. Prices are relative One of the things to keep in mind, first, is that gold is priced in dollars. So, sure, there has been inflation in many other currencies (with the notable exception of the yen, which is a whole different story). But the dollar has gotten relatively stronger, despite inflation. Partially, because inflation in other currencies has been even bigger.

Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Your confused. I am stating facts about how the LTR visa can not be obtained using an agent or lawyer, it must be applied for by the individual only at this point in time and can not be processed any other way than applying through the website. You think it's a government scheme being done to assist the government currently in power and will be removed by the next government. In reality any Visa class could be. The LTR is a Visa Class much like the SMART Visa, and only issued through the BOI. I am not a sales rep either. -
Looks like Credit Suisse Bank has hit a wall as well, which is another problem since they were mainly financed by the Saudi's and the Saudi's do not want to prop them up now. We shall see what the precious metals do......

Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?

I did notice that as well, must have been one of the later updates they did to ensure the information obtained was still there......for the 5 year review. Waiting on the missus's paperwork to be reviewed now as a dependent after the fact. They did not like that her last name was not the same and she has a Myanmar PJ passport, but what can you do when that's the cards you have been dealt in life. They want a copy of her Myanmar National card and it's translation, which is being completed hopefully soon, as the US NVC wants it as well for her US Visa..... -
My Motorbike plate won handily today on a Ticket for the last two numbers and the misses won with the last 3 of the motorbike plate in the local village lottery. A good day and now time to hit a nice restaurant for dinner to blow the winnings.....lol Here's hoping the gold prices do keep rising. Been buying gold bars between 2 and 5 baht weights for the past few years as a hedge.

Hotel Recommendation for US Embassy in Bangkok
ThailandRyan replied to racyrick's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
The grand Centre Point is a nice hotel. I just rented out my BKK Condo which was not far from the Embassy and behind the SO/Bangkok. With my daughters flying in to visit for a few weeks I booked the Family 2 bedroom suite at Grand Centre point, within walking distance to Central World, Siam Square, Siam Paragon MBK, and then the Fashion mall where they will buy some clothes at decent prices. I also scheduled a notary appointment at the Embassy for then as well as I need a document notarized that the girls will take back to the US with them. Lumpini Park is also just down the street and there are great places to eat on Langsuan as well as a Villa market downstairs. -

Take a look around the corner from the Embassy on Langsuan, thats where we generally stay, easy walk around the corner. -
It was your "I dont recall the first one ?" which I responded to. Please tell me where I wrote that you said there wasn't a crack down in my response. To assist you I posted some links so that you could do some research before you posted regarding the subject and so that you were aware there had been. It does amaze me that on some of the your posts I respond to you do write "I dont recall? It's like your stating you need help in recalling, and that is exactly what I did to assist you by posting the aforementioned links on the Crackdowns. However, no matter how hard I do try and give you the material you always come back with a snide remark. So with that one can never have a rational debate with you as you always get seemingly offended. With that being said, enjoy your day. Here are the posts Posted 3 hours ago

Your sure trying to insinuate that Blackrock is fighting the war with Ukraine. They are not. They will be helping to rebuild the destroyed country. https://nypost.com/2022/12/28/zelensky-blackrock-ceo-larry-fink-tout-deal-to-help-rebuild-ukraine/

Time for stages to be set up, intersections blocked, marches and mud slinging to begin as well as protests which in fact did start again yesterday in Bangkok. There is no such thing as a Civil democratic election without discourse and such in this country as past history dictates unless it was done under Marshall law.

The Myanmar people have a better claim especially the Ethnic groups like the Karen and Rohynga, but Russian folks leaving to avoid being sent to wartime positions, that's a new one on me, it's not ethnic cleansing that's occurring in Russia now is it.

Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I used it in 2019 at the Los Angeles Consulate when I obtained my O-A visa as well as proof of income slong with the DOJ clearance and the medical certificate. I have never shown a bank account statement except when I needed it for the extension of stay and then I just needed the letter from Kbank as I had a 800k Fixed deposit savings. I know that some of the folks have needed a Tax return since then, but I don't know if they had the letter I provided. -

Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?

Not true if your in the country here. The LTR BOI unit accepted the CALPers letter of verification for my pension which I downloaded from the CALPers website after requesting it. That verification letter layed out when my defined benefit pension started and how much per month my pension was for. I uploaded my Health insurance from PCH, here in Thailand, as my CALPers HI plan, even though it is a lifetime plan, runs from January 1 to December 31st, and at the time would not cover the required 10 months. Since my PCH plan is always renewed in October that plan was fine. Uploaded my photo and passport info and within 3 weeks my LTR-P was approved. Pretty sure they gerufued the pension letter by contacting PERS as the letter says to do on the bottom if any questions need to be answered. -
Former national police chief Chakthip to face corruption charges
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
5 years ago I wanted to open up a K9 training facility in the north with dogs sourced from Europe. To get the process started I was asked to donate 2 MThb in order to get the paperwork signed off by someone at the top who would then want to be a silent partner and who wanted 51% of the company and profits.....Nope...just a sad society.- 50 replies

Former national police chief Chakthip to face corruption charges
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Didn't many say the BMW smart cars were a waste of money when they first debuted. I rarely see them in operation in BKK anymore when we are there. The Lumpini RTP statio has one that always seems to be plugged in sitting in front of the office on Withayu Rd. -
So to you corruption is OK and a needed part of society, and paying bribes to get away with something which is illegal should be accepted...glad to hear that because I know which side of law and order you now sit on. Might as well condone a murderer who pays the family afterwards and is forgiven and never prosecuted.... nuff said.

Looks like scabies or bed bugs to me as well. No you can not scratch one part of the body which has a psoriasis patch and then scratch another area causing it to spread there. With psoriasis if you scratch it, it makes the area scratched become inflamed and the spot can grow as well as causing bleeding. My psoriasis was caused due to an auto immune system issue after a surgery which also made me a diabetic. To keep the itching down so I do not scratch the itch as I was my dermatologist prescribed Hydroxyzine. Your dermatologist should be able to tell you what you have going on.
