Health minister Anutin named acting transport minister
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
New cannabis transport bill to be proposed says Anutin. From now on you can only transport a minimum of 2 buds in your left pocket. -
You can't, there are many different medicactions one can use. Fir the stronger ones that use Steroids and Urea you need a doctors prescription and you can only get it from a hospital or real medical clinic. For the psoriasis I have I use Dermovate cream with 10% Urea. It keeps the skin cells from growing to thick. However, you can not use it for to long as it makes your skin thin and you can end up getting bruise marks just from scratching very easy. I use Xamiol on my arms and scalp as well as Daivonex. I have splitches all over. It is an autoimmune disorder. The creams an ointments are not cheap at all. Go see a dermatologist to have it checked out.

A person using an agent for a reason to obtain the visa or extension when not meeting the requirements may not be prosecuted but the visa or extension will be voided and the foreigner asked to leave the country. The agent on the other hand as well as the IO could be charged and prosecuted and then fined.

Your having a laugh are you not? https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/thai-police-round-foreigners-overstaying-visas-visa-bribe-ring-exposed-phuket/ Back in 2017 there were many folks under sudpicion for overstay and bribing officials. Never heard the finality of the investigation or how many arrests were made etc... https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/thai-police-round-foreigners-overstaying-visas-visa-bribe-ring-exposed-phuket/ A related issue to the crackdown on foreigners on overstay, especially those considered wealthy or influential, is that some of them may be bribing police officers monthly to allow them to remain in the country without visas. The crackdown has already begun in Phuket, where police are searching for 142 foreigners believed to be bribing various officials as much as THB100 million (US$3 million) per month over visa issues.

You said in a previous post the person using the agent was in a grey area. The issue is this, if the IO is found to have issued the visa/extension of stay contrary to the requirements needed, then someone above that IO and within immigration can void that visa/extension of stay......illegally obtained visas/extensions of stays which were given on falsified requirements or someone turning a blind eye is still illegal. The person may not be seen as complicit in this but for sure if Immigration wishes they can void the stamp in the passport and make the person leave and re-enter the country after obtaining the Visa the right way and then they can obtain the extension provided they meet the requirements. I have no issues for those using an agent that meet the requirements it the issue of the stamps being given to those not meeting said requirements. I agree with the money in the bank method being ridiculous. When obtaining the O-A visa or O visa from an embassy or consulate in your own country, you still need to show your bank account information from your country, but then that's not accepted here, but a monthly transfer of either 40k Thb if married, or 65kThb if retired is, yet some folks do not meet that requirement and need to have the money in the bank to show they can afford to live here, that's what this is truly all about. For some its the issue of health insurance not being obtained for their visa (O-A) and why back in 2019 and 2020 there were many OPs discussing folks leaving the country to kill off the O-A visa, entering exempt and the obtaining an O Visa in country and then the extension of stay. Technically you can not kill off one visa and convert to another class without leaving the country, but some agents are able to get it done, again it is not above board. Why is it so hard for you to understand the legality versus illegality of this.

Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why spend 1 million or 2 million Baht for an Elite visa. 50k for 10 years is fine by me....no issues either in qualifying. Some folks, like you, just can't understand something that's cheaper is what this is and has better benegits for those that dont golf, that is if you qualify for it. -

This is a Visa issued by BOI and is not anything that Big Joke or the Chinese grey markets are involved in. This is not a Thai Elite Visa and an agent or lawyer can not, I repeat can not walk your application through the door and into the BOI offices and then over to the immigration side to get the Visa stamped into it. You must be confusing this visa class with another visa type/scheme as I stated above.. Your friend would have to appear himself for his photo with Immigration and to have the visa placed into his passport as well as paying the 50K Thb. Nothing a lawyer can do......not yet -
White gold is becoming popular as well as diamonds now here, well at least in BKK. Had a wedding band made for the misses which incorporated the engagement ring and two smaller linked infinity bands which are white gold with diamonds......the jeweler told me he is making more and more combination white gold and yellow gold rings with larger diamonds in them now. He did say that this is for the younger generation and the older Thais like the softer darker yellow gold. Sold my 18 carat white gold ring in China town, they do have machines that can tell the purity of the metal and the stone clarity.

Now heavy rain across middle Thailand and into Myanmar
ThailandRyan replied to steven100's topic in General Topics
Ouch, my water bill was 142 Baht, and we water the lawn and garden daily. Have a few fruit trees, oranges, lime and a lemon as well as the tomatoes the misses is growing and the parsley. Roses are beautiful. Just had to spray the damned coconut and guava trees for pesky worms. -

We did get some down, or up our way here in Pranburi, it was a quick 20 minute rain, dark clouds still but nothing else. It is cool outside instead of humid and warm, so at least thats good. -
Many Thai's believe that there is no way to avoid meeting your maker, and when it happens it was destined. I tried telling this to former family members and they would always state "Why change what I am doing, It will not change the ending of my life" but wait it gets better "I will just be reborn and get to do my life again"

Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?

Wow, your e-mails have gone unanswered and calls to the BOI unit also never answered. That is very hard to believe as I have been in constant contact with the BOI LTR unit as far as e-mails and calls as the system still shows certain things that have been completed and I am trying to add a dependent after the fact. The link works fine for me, best to check and see if your using a VPN or such that's blocking access. https://visa.boi.go.th/ The main link is having service issues for a Monday that's not unexpected as they work on updating the system. It does still have glitches in it, but it is a young program. https://ltr.boi.go.th/ I have been successful today in opening the below link. https://web.archive.org/web/20230223113952/https://ltr.boi.go.th/ -
Will Thailand’s Long Term Resident Visa work for you?
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Please tell me how through a Lawyer a family friend obtained his LTR Visa. There are no agents currently certified and no one other than the applicant can upload the documents and so on. Unless the Lawyer was acting as if he was the actual applicant and had access to all of the applicants bank records, taxes, passport paperwork and their insurance documents. If the Lawyer had this much information, then if I was the applicant I would want to ensure my personal identifying information had been redacted, and double check my finances to ensure I had not had money and so on taken. Talk about the potential to be fraudulently scammed and loose your shirt and shorts to someone who gets themselves in financial straights and then uses your identity and funds to bail themselves out. -

Yes if between 40k USD and 80K USD you need to show an investment, if just short of the 80k USD you can use an IRA portfolio which has an annual amount you take as a eequired minimum distribution draw if approved by BOI to get to the 80k. If you own a Condo or a house you can use that Chanote with the Land departments valuation as long as its in your name alone. If not the full 250k then you can buy bonds. A few have done this already. It obviously needs to make sense to the applicant not the many naysayers who claim the program is BS and wealthy folks would he elsewhere not here. People's views are skewed it appears. I am here and I have the LTR-P Visa.....not right here but comfortable and own homes elsewhere which are rented out for additional income. -

No liquid assets required for the Wealthy Pensioner...just your 80K USD annual pension and a insurance policy nothing more.
