But aren't foreigners 10x's the size of a Thai and don't we leave a bigger footprint, well in the minds of the Thai government and certain folks we do. Dual pricing exists everywhere here, its why I send in the GF to negotiate the price and then I show up...............................

Thailand is the center of the Universe and the hub of all hubs, committee's and any other way to waste money. -
Amicably by surrendering voluntarily without force necessary. You must think that justice would be served by blowing up the house and killing him. You definitely don't like any judicial system, no matter how bad it is. Back we go to the wild west, hangem high, shoot it out, shoot the one who wronged you in the back, lynch mob mentality I see from a few posting.

So it would have been OK for the police to rush on in and have more wild gunfire from the gunmen kill them or innocent bystanders outside as the bullets flew outside from inside. It doesn't bother me that he died, however it would have when and if others had because of the negligence created by rushing in and of which you seem to condone with your view of it taking too long.

I can see you've never tried to negotitate a standoff down. It takes time to try and end it amicably without any more deaths, but your like those who watch auto racing just to see the crashes....

The tourist season here in my neck of the woods south of HH has been for the most part Non existent, except for the visiting Thais who come to there 2nd homes or the Pranburi area. When in Hua Hin city itself you do see more foreigners now, but then they really do not travels much to the outer parts of the province. -
Thammarak Helps Prawit In Isaan To Deny Pheu Thai Landslide Win

Thammarak Helps Prawit In Isaan To Deny Pheu Thai Landslide Win Just how will this actually occur as Prawit is not directly Running for the PM position by a constituency vote, unless he is also running for a MP spot somewhere which I have yet to see. The PM is not elected by the citizens he is installed by a jury oops cohort of his peers of which the senate is in the pockets of his party.. This whole issue is pure speculation and the headline makes it seem like it already has occurred. It is this kind of rhetoric which dissuades folks from even going to the polls. -

Don't forget the Chinese gray market for those that came here and paid off Immigration to stay long term and opened up shops etc....still plenty of places that look like ghost towns, many more businesses are trying to stay alive but are sputtering in the other tourist areas where a recovery has yet to return to the same level seen in Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket. The airport here in Hua Hin still only has flights to and from Chiang Mai....no where else, which discourages travel here except by bus, or car..... -

So 20 million visitors will be in store for the year, just a tad over 50% of those that arrived in 2019. I wonder how the Russians compare now to back then as far as there numbers.... -

My HS X is White, with the red and black interior, it gets a bath weekly here at the house....good exercise for the other half, who clocks over 2000 steps while washing and drying it as well as cleaning the inside, I am just the chauffeur....and fund manager.... She saw the new Ford I posted above in the OP and likes the style. Just saw that Chevy has a new corvette E-Ray coming out in the US. -
I do not believe they will keep the 45 day exempt in play after March 31st. Yet who knows.
-
Yes, that's why you exit and reenter at the end of the first year to get a second tear and buy a reentry permit, I used to buy a multiple re-entry permit and then in October go back to the US and obtain a new one. It was a deal at just over 300 usd for 2 years. An annual extension is 1900 baht plus the 3800 baht me re-entry permit. Basically it works out to around the same cost for 2 years, maybe about $20 more, but then if you travel like I used to do for business having the O-A was good.
-
It does happen for people who do not realize that for the 2nd year given on the O-A you need a reentry if your leaving during the second year. If your planning on staying most of the year you can now convert your current entry into a Non O visa and then extension of stay. Plenty of info on the forum on how to do it. Just make sure you get the 800k THB into the bank here soon if you have an account here. I used to use the O-A to go in and out on prior to covid but once covid locked us in for the most part starting in 2020 I just did an annual extension of stay, of course with the O-A you need health insurance which you seem to have obtained. With the O visa Health insurance is not a requirement, but like anything in life, health Insurance is needed for our health. You can always look at the LTR visa if your retired and on a pension if you meet tge requirements.
-
Reentry permit was needed to keep the second year of the Visa alive if you left the country after the first year....

Can't loose it in a sea of other cars if it's purple....sticks out like a sore thumb. -
Lack of enforcement keeps Thailands mileage death rate at the highest of all countries.....sad for everyone. RiP poor student who will never grow up and become what he/she dreamed of becoming.....the RTP should all be sacked and new officers willing to do the job without corruption and actually working by stopping vehicles being driven badly, being driven on the wrong side of the road, without lights on and driven by impaired drivers would be heros in this country and in my view.
