Pride Flags Removed from House of Lords Canteen After Peer’s Complaint
I agree wholeheartedly. The original gay pride flag signified the inclusion of everyone i.e. all the colours of the rainbow. The (progressive or racial) pride flag, like the one shown in the picture, is far from inclusive. It is in fact the opposite...exclusive. It includes transgender, non-binary, intersex, black-skinned, and brown-skinned people but excludes cisgender, straight, male-identifying, female-identifying and white-skinned people and, ironically, gay, bisexual and lesbian people. We call this progress 🤔

Immigration Ramps Up Airport Security to Block ‘Grey Business’ Foreigners
Can't have them taking Thai jobs, can we. The biggest 'grey business' in Thailand is happening at the airports and now they've found another excuse to force people to use it. The new Thailand. The land of self-entitlement to first-world standards and the gluttony of third-world corruption.

The Rise of GB News and the Making of a Mini-Murdoch
Nobody can argue that GB News is largely a right-leaning channel but I'd rather have them than not. Since Sky News UK was sold to Comcast, and joined the monolith of left-leaning channels, they're the only one left. Sad to hear that the Headliners show is going. It was mostly staffed by old school, lefty comedians and was an interesting new concept. At least we still have Free Speech Nation. 😊

Thai PM Orders Standardised Smoking Areas at Airports for Travellers
I'm a former smoker, although not a born again non-smoker, so know what it's like to step off a long flight with the knowledge that you have run the gauntlet before finally being allowed that nicotine injection. I agree but only if allowed to vape in there. Otherwise, it would only further highlight the hypocritical goverment policies that prioritise profit over public health.

SCB, no more exemption from facial recognition in app
We can only hope but the message in the OP suggests it's for all transactions. I was at my local branch a couple of weeks ago to update passport and mobile number. They guided me (basically watched me do it) through the installation of the app and everything OK. I did mention something like 'sacan naa' but they didn't seem to understand so I left it for dead. No notifications about it in the app and nothing online about it that I can find. If true, the app becomes nothing more than a tool to check your balance. 🤔

Recent trip to UK with Qatar air- A very sad, heartbreaking visit.
Still need a pound coin for shopping trollies in supermarkets in the UK. Lots of cash machines near the entrances which are beggars' prime locations. Plus, still a few places with coin-op parking meters.

Recent trip to UK with Qatar air- A very sad, heartbreaking visit.
I've just returned from a 6 month visit. Last time I was there was 2018. I was actually surprised how cheap supermarket food still is especially if you buy supermarket brands and look for offers and multibuys. ASDA prices not too bad if you focus on rollback. Towards the end started shopping at Iceland and Farmfoods which are very cheap for bulk-buying. Kingsmill / Hovis bread, £1 6 Cans of Heinz Lentil Soup, £6 or less Back Bacon 300g, £1.50 8 Lincolnshire Sausages, £1.79 4 Breaded Cod Fillets £3.75 You can really tell what I pigged out on over there 😂 Takeaway food (pizza, parmo, kebabs) increased by at least 50% but high quality, for what it is, and very large portions. Chinese still pretty cheap and decent chips. Decent beer still be had for £1 a can but a standard bottle of spirits has seen a big increase (£12 is tax) but heavily discounted over xmas / NY period e.g. 1L Baileys £10. Beer in pubs up about £1 a pint. Peroni everywhere now instead of Stella. Carvery during off-peak times £9. Yup, definitely a noticeable increase in the suburbs. Didn't visit the town centre myself. Parents advised against it as it was full of East European aggressive beggars. They seem to prefer to harass old people. Big Boots store is closing soon which was one of the first shops to ever open in the town centre. People switching to online and 'out of town' shopping centres. The writing's been on the wall for a long time. I thought this was a joke until I saw it myself. Police are starting to raid these places now, comparing footfall from CCTV to claimed revenue. I looked into this for a flat I'm thinking of buying. Only SERCO in my area but horror stories from landlords all over the internet. Seems like a good deal on the face of it. No management fees, 5-7 year lease, guaranteed rent every month, free repairs etc. In reality, stupid rules about replacing doors and windows every few years and they hand you back a shell of a house at the end of the contract; AVOID!!!

Weathering the Climate Debate: Meet the Young Meteorologist Challenging the Hysteria
Spot on 😊 Also, the last interglacial maximum occured about 10,000 years ago which indicates that the Earth should be entering a cooling phase. According to the theory of Milankovich Cycles, and empirical observation, the axial tilt of the Earth is decreasing and the perigee (furthest distance from the Sun) of the Earth's orbit is increasing; both should lead to cooling.

Thailand’s Bold Pride Boost: Aiming for Top LGBTQ+ Destination
It's there just in case they forget a letter, which is akin to the Holocaust, so they don't get labelled as a nazi. Hence why you see LGBT+, LGBTQ+, LGBTQQI+, 2SLGBTQQI+ etc. Actually, the LGBs are no longer welcome on pride marches in the UK, so we might see a reduction in the amount of letters soon 🤪

France: Smoking Ban Set for Public Spaces Near Children, Beaches, Parks, Gardens
Same here. Switched to vapes which don't leave that horrible, ingrained smell. Stepson used to smoke outside, or at least in the doorway, but now chugs away all day in his room with GF and friends. His doorknob is broken (like everything else he touches) so sometimes the wind blows his door open and the whole house is filled with stench.

Denied Entry
What rules? 🤔 Which rule states that I can't spend longer than 3 months in Thailand as a tourist? The only rule is the one that corrupt officials have unofficially implemented so they can line their own pockets. They might be in trouble soon with the reduction in tourist numbers due to the, albeit unrelated, closure of Cambodian border checkpoints. How things can change in a heartbeat. It wasn't that long ago that you could happily fly in and out of the airport with impunity and they were restricting land border entries, or reducing them from 30 days to 15.

Denied Entry
How is spending 6 months or less in a country not being a 'genuine' tourist? If I want to spend 6 months in Thailand one year and 5 months the next, why should I be grilled by immigration when I enter, again when I return from a short side-trip to a neighbouring country, and worry about being refused entry? I'm quite happy to prove that I have enough, in fact over and above, the necessary funds for my stay. Also, there is no such thing as 'the appropriate visa'. The correct visa, or visa exempt stamp, is the one that is appropriate for me. I will choose the legal method that best suits me because I am the paying customer. Look at the visa options available for Thai tourists in the UK, my home country. Are they not 'genuine' tourists if they avail themselves of these options?
