Finally gave up on chairs and stole my stepson's weightlifling bench. Still going strong. The padding is still quite comfortable after a few years. Rated at 300kg Tried a cheaper alternative. Not so strong but good enough for a large Thai wife. Even then, you can hear it creaking all the time. Rated at 200kg I think. Considering buying some of these for the kitchen / shop area. Looks very similar to the one my wife bought me about 10 years ago. ฿4500 from a shop on the top floor of MBK. Unfortunately, although it looks sturdy, the wheels joints are very weak. After a couple of them snapped, we got the local chang to weld them in place but after the others went it became unmovable. Something to think about if you're on the heavy side.

If there are no tariffs on imported wine, how come I can buy a bottle of Yellow Tail in China for less than ฿350? I remember the price because, a few years ago, China whacked a 200% tariff on Australian wine in revenge for them joining the AUKUS defence pact. I had to resort to Chinese wines like the awful 'Great Wall', which was similarly priced, or even worse...French wine 🤪

What the article doesn't mention is the low energy density of the sodium-ion batteries. This is due to sodium having an atomic number / weight of 23 vs lithium's 7, so the batteries will have to be over 3 times heavier to deliver the same power; not ideal for moving vehicles 🤔

Nope. Sodium-ion batteries are less prone to thermal runaway due to their more stable chemistry.

Interesting. I've been following this tech over the last year and it looks promising. Ideal for in-situ batteries to store energy from renewables along with Pumped Hydro and Hydrogen storage. If they can up the recharge cycles they'll be perfect. 😊

Expensive is relative but my Sennheiser HD450BT have served me well over the last few years. Nice crisp, bassy sound with good battery life, fast charging, and can be used while charging. One here 😊 Actually it was 2 x 30 + 1 x 60 with extensions. After I flew back in from Cambodia for the 60, I was taken aside and questioned about the purpose of my stay and where I was staying; let in with a 'Get a visa next time.' Flew back to the UK last Oct and stayed for 6 months. Flew back in a few weeks ago and was questioned at the immigration desk. Let in with a 'You can't keep doing this. Get a visa next time.' I think the consensus is that after the first 60+30, questions will be asked. Seems to be a problem at airports only so, although I'd love to spend a week in Phnom Penh again, I'll probably do a border hop for the next one.

This is going to turn out like the same debacle when labour were last in power at the turn of the century. If workers from similar economies in Western Europe are allowed to work in the UK under this scheme, then that is a reciprical arrangement. If workers from Eastern European countries, where the minimum wage in some countries is less than a third of the UK, are allowed to work in the UK under this scheme, then it is not.

Didn't know it was legal to vape in schools. Think I'll pop down to my local one tomorrow to stock up before they ban it. Looking forward to hearing their evidence-based claims about the dangers of vaping.
