From the taxi driver asking how much your salary is to the middle classes never satisfied with what they have.
I won a million baht, why wasn't it 10 million. For a Buddhist country which is not supposedly meant to be obsessed with money, the reality is very different . My faith in Buddhism was shattered when I saw a monk with 3 iPhone's. I have seen countless other incidents which shows that it is quite a farce.
No doubt the apologists will be here to defend this but from my opinion of 20 years within Thailand, when it comes to money many people have little morals. This story just highlights this and confirms what I have seen and know.
Thailand is plastic Buddhist.
Bhutan probably the only real Buddhist nation

Did they knowingly have sex with underage girls or were they told or lead to believe they were older?
Very difficult to tell the difference in age for many Thai girls/ women, I've seem older women that look like teenagers with a couple of kids in toe.

He's not going to be in any NZ prison following this arrest, he's going to be a guest of the FBI and the US system.
Good job.

Maybe better for her to keep her opinion to herself. How much does she really know? If it is just what is in the news then she should think again until she can find out what is and what isnt true.
Maybe you should as well.

The NZ news version - full item at link:
Comancheros member wanted in global drug sting arrested in Thailand
Oct 19 2022The cousin of a Comancheros boss who has evaded police for a number of years has been arrested in Thailand on drugs charges.
Shane Elwood Ngakuru has been named as a co-defendant of a number of people facing charges in New Zealand.
Detective Inspector Paul Newman confirmed Ngakuru, who is also a Comancheros member, had been arrested in Thailand following a joint operation involving the FBI and Thai Police.
Thank goodness someone posts facts rather than the usual speculative drivel.
Unfortunately, this <deleted> will be out of prison in a relatively short time. I am speculating of course. This far left Socialist Government in NZ is soft on crims, way too soft.

Those pictures are disgusting.
It is not only the Thai people who are responsible for this. The rest of Asia should be included.
We were in Mae Sai earlier in the year. We visited the House of Opium Museum.
While there, standing at the riverside where the Ruak meets the Mekong was a massive collection of trash that had come down the Mekong from Laos and China. One can only guess how much more is unseen and ends up in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand

Has Nana suffered the same fate?
Anyone been to Pat Pong recently? Think its been 20 years for me.
Nana is 'ok' at present. Varies day to day though.

Officials keep talking about the roof tiles, and other issues. All I need to know is what I've experienced with 99% of Thai wiring. No trip switches. No ground. Cheap outlets that catch fire. it's everywhere! Why aren't they looking at the root of the problem?
Too much bother...

that, and some people just love to complain. there was a thread called "why are there so many haters in here" and quite a few members quite bluntly stated that not only do they like complaining in here but they have a right to do so and that we should just "move past". pretty hard to do when there's 7 or 8 pages of whining ????
Makes you wonder though if they are the same at home or out with friends ????

Hi all. I am out of the country for a few months. The wife told me last night that the aircon in the Mazda has stopped working.
I don't want her to take it to the local 'mechanic'. He is good at some stuff but I don't trust him to do this work competently.
Can anyone help with recommendations for a service in Chumphae that she can take the car to.
I won't take it to Wattana Mazda as we have had terrible service and incompetence from them recently.

Yes the public carpark.
It is supposed to be 150 every 24 hours. One would presume this is from the time the ticket was issued.
We entered at 9.40am on Sunday and exited 11.00pm Monday. We were charged 300 so who knows.
