    These groups are mainly centre right, not far right. They are concerned about the breakdown of law and order in their countries following the relaxation of immigration controls.

    Ignorant rubbish. Weed induces calm, not violence. This case is more likely one involving alcohol and crystal meth.

    As others have said, in that area at 4.40 in the morning there is a lot of potential for trouble, mainly down to alcoholic excess.

    Too early to say. Thaksin is behind the proposal to re-criminalize. As he has done in the past he may have over-estimated his importance in the Thai hierarchy. Many top people heve invested in the cannabis business recently.

    Misleading headline. It's not yet a reversal. I note that the USA is today relaxing reguiatory control of cannabis use, bringing it into line with sevaral orher western countries. Sensible and civilised. Hopefully Thailand will take note.

    Weed users are not riff-raff. They are made up of all types ranging from backpackers to well-off residents. Anyway, whatever your background, make the best of it while you can. It appears the civilized move to relax regulations is about to be snuffed out by Thaksin's people. Cannabis will soon be back into the hands of gangsters , sadly.

    Much ado about nothing. Drug use in Thailand, whether in the north east or in other regions, is no worse than in most countries. The RTP like getting involved for obvious reasons. Legalise and regulate is the only sensible solution but will never happen sadly.

    Ridiculous comment. The comparison between the effects of consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes with the effect of using cannabis is very much on topic. Either pay attention, or refrain from totally irrelevant observations
