Upwards manipulation of the baht has mostly been the norm here in order to assist the elites with their overseas investments in property etc. However they got badly caught out in the 1997/8 crash, but I doubt they will allow that to happen again. I seem to remember getting 70 baht plus to the UK pound around that time. Happy days !

Non O extension based on marriage
Thingamabob replied to Jaggg88's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In over 40 years of working, and later living in retirement, in Thailand I have never been asked for any form of 'legalisation' of my UK passport/passports. However, I married my Thai wife in Taiwan and had the marriage certificate approved and stamped by the Thai embassy in Hong Kong, which was accepted in Thailand by the Thai immigration authority when applying for an annual extension based on marriage. The validity of my UK passport has never once been questioned during these procedures. -

No evidence nor proof of this whatsoever, meantime Ghislaine Maxwell faces 20 years plus in jail after a farcical trial. Hardly surprising Andrew was advised not to go anywhere near an American court. -
CW retirement extension report -- all good
Thingamabob replied to retiree's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
6-8 hours ? Not in my case for nearly 40 years. In Sathorn previously and now Chaengwattana my applications, without an appointment, have never taken more than 4 hours, usually much less. -
Just tell him what you want and he will have it made for you.

Leading Thai doctors calling for mask mandate to be reinstated
Thingamabob replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I'm not bothered by wearing a mask if required to do so, even though I am an asthmatic. It's totally beyond me why so many of you make such a fuss about this. Surely time to try to grow up a bit. -
