  1. The term sedan is quite common in Australia, especially when a particular make of car had several versions. For example the XC Falcon came in a Sedan (4 door car) 2 door fast back (GT), The ute and the Panel Van...
  2. Hummpy, Fighters are fitted with Black Box data recorders.. (Actually they are orange, and they have Cockpit voice recorders as well)
  3. Its not hacked, its a phishing attempt to get your information for whatever reason. If you dont reply they cant do anything. Its the same thing as the emails from Amazon, Banks and so on.
  4. A bandaid solution??? OK, I'm leaving now.......????????
  5. In the Thai heat, (or Oz for that matter) tyres should be changed after 5 years regardless of the tread depth. The heat causes the tyres to harden, so they dont grip as well and the side walls can develop micro cracks. You dont want an exploding tyre. I recently had the tyres on my BT50 replaced due to age. The age of the tyre can be worked out from the date code on the side wall..
  6. Did your Covid Vax certificate have a QR code, or just a typed page.. QR codes seem to be processed immediately, Plain page takes 3 to 7 days I believe.. Also were you using a hotmail address?? It seems that Hotmail isnt accepted but gmail is good to go..
  7. Do a google search, it will take you to a list .
  8. I have a house that is in a Thai village, no gated community in site. Security isnt a problem, as neighbours keep an eye on the house when we arent there. I have never been burgled, nor felt unsafe. The neighbours are great, very friendly as is the whole village. I have no need of a pool, and I cant think of anything a gated community may have that I need. Yes, the land/house is owned by my wife, but we have been together for nearly 40 years, so I doubt I will be kicked out.
  9. In 15 or so years of traveling to Thailand, I have never been asked to show that I have any cash on hand I its been there, but) . I think if you present to Immigration wearing tatty clothing, and scruffy looking you may be questioned. Dress and present neatly should be no problem. Its pretty disrespectful to arrive looking like you have just been digging up your back garden any way.
  10. Check the VIN dataplate, you can find age info from that online
  11. The figures mean nothing. What was the sample size ( 200, 2000, 200000) and what area was the survey taken. results of 94% are meaning less if only 100 people responded and they were Burmese workers in the far north west.. You would have a different result from Phuket and Pattaya or Bangkok..
  12. The error in line 1 , isnt necessarily the first data entry line. It could be the header line as its the first line in the spread sheet. Have you tried doing a Save As?? The online document may be write protected.
  13. The body of the email is probably saying something like there is money/duty owed on and item coming for you and to click the link to pay. There has been a similar email running around in Australia at the moment.
  14. The 15 minute runs are not enough to get the oil hot, so moisture can build up in the oil creating an acid that wouldnt be good. Check the date code on your tyres when you get back and if greater than 5 years old replace them. They might look ok, but could develop hard spots which could cause a tyre failure while on the move and that would be bad. Probably a good idea to replace the brake fluid as that absorbs moisture, battery also may need replacing depending on how well the car starts. The fuel tends to go off over time, so top up the tank and go for a good drive. Replace used fuel with new and the fuel will be good in a few days. I have a BT50 that hasnt been driven by me in 2 years (funny about that) but fortunately the car is used occasionally by friends who are looking after it.
  15. I asked my Wife and she said "No Way, nothing to do with her any more his problem" or to translate into Orstalian... "F*** **F" My wife speaks good Orstralian after being here for 35 years.. ???? She would have to be soft in the head, and the OP to even consider it..
  16. Damage from lightning strike is difficult to protect against, as the surge can come through the grounding system. The ethernet grounding thing really isnt much use, as the wires are to small to handle much current. The major problem in Thailand is is power voltage fluctuations, the reducing supply voltage can damage equipment, this can be mitigated by using a decent UPS. I have a computer or two and a bunch of electronics in my house, and havent had any problems over the last 5 or 6 years.
  17. Consider getting a small bluetooth keyboard, and pair it with your phone. Then you can prop your phone up sideways and type away on the keyboard. they are a soft touch so shouldnt upset your hands too much. As some one said, get a tablet, it has a bigger screen so easier to read, and you can again use the bluetooth keyboard
