  1. And I was grateful and happy with both of their helpful responses Also I agree wth you
  2. Not a rant, just pointing out the obvious.
  3. Never happened as I renew in the UK in plenty time in advance
  4. How many times do I have to say, I had bad cancer and was in the seriously high risk group
  5. People, Look the interest rate is bloody non existent in Thailand at the moment. Why should I permanently lock up 800K for " absolutely no bloody reason " except to please some archaic Thai system. I have dosh on deposit as I have said before, attracting interest at 5% to 6% in a bloody major bank in Cambodia for 12 years. I do not feel it necessary to withdraw money from outside when there is 800K sat there doing nothing.
  6. Yeah. But th local talent is ugly! ????
  7. Just a quickie. If your retirement extension is due in July but you renew in June, when does the three month period after granting the extension begin when you can withdraw some money? July at your due date or June when you actually renewed it?
  8. I am in highly vulnerable group due to cancer so Yes I would have.
  9. It makes people uncomfortable, especially fully vaccinated tourists and then we have people that haven't even bothered getting vaccinated at all in Thailand. Too much pathetic superstition! They spend all day listening about ghosts and old wives tales. It doesnt help seeing the stupid newscasters yards away from each other muffling away behind their masks! I have had five injections now and I've had enough. Covid was ooverplayed, its more or less gone, it's done and it's dusted. It's now purely about " control " over the people.
  10. 1 million a year bitten by dogs in Thailand! And that's just in the bars in Pattaya!
  11. Simple lesson here, don't get involved in local disputes Nobody is grateful and it just adds to the problem. Up here in Isaarn, I have seen men dragging women by the hair and punching them and the occasional " foreign good samaritan" is beaten to a pulp by BOTH parties for intervening! Is it right? No, but it's life here and how it goes!
  12. I agree. But dont hold your breath awaiting hospitals in Thailand for positive conclusions or investigations to events such as these.
  13. And the other one is in Vietnam...hahaha
  14. Well, Prayut's new initiative is certainly attracting the Russian " high end, well heeled tourists " from his preferred countries of choice who he wants to see more of in Thailand. We just need the Chinese * breakfast buffet locusts " now.
  15. I think I will, I've just got a ticket through the post for speeding " allegedly " on the Khonkaen Kalasin highway!
  16. The Thai way! If less people are coming, charge them more to make up for those people who aren't coming! They don't understand that they might make those tourists that do come ' cheesed off! ' Straight out of the Prayut, Prawit and Anutin anti foreigner manual.
  17. I am unaffected as I fly from Manchester and always as a rule, use Qatar, I do not like BA, but anything that gives any hint of a slap in the face to those arrogant dimwits in power in Bangkok, who think Thailand is the ' hub of the world ' is fine by me! The only reason tourism airport fees for ' improving and maintaining tourist sites ' and additional fees put on the price of air tickets just in case of ' foreigners requiring hospitalization ' haven't been banged on our tickets yet is because the Chinese and others aren't coming in any kind of numbers. It certainly isn't through the kindness of their hearts.
  18. There are far too many sections and sub sections as it stands now!
  19. Thank you, One last question. It's asking for an invitation letter from somebody who has permission to stay in the UK. We will be staying at my house and I am a UK born national but reside in Thailand. Can I do the invitation letter or should I get my son to do one from the UK? That seems a bit silly, but their rules I suppose. You mention it's going to the UK platform, does that mean to the UK Embassy for approval? Because aren't the VFS just intermediaries that ensure all documentation is correct?
  20. My partner had a two year UK visa multi entry and we traveled there in 2018. Obviously with Covid19 it became impossible to travel. The visa expired in 2020. I was online today applying for a new one. They seemed to have changed the format and the requirements. She has had 5 visas previously. It is asking us to upload documents, provide proof of relationship etc. Of course we have all this information but would prefer to hand it all in with a nice neat file to Trendy buildings, as opposed to uploading. I don't like that method and that's it. Is there a way of making an appointment and handing the documents in to Trendy buildings as opposed to uploading documents? I feel much happier doing that even though it means flying from Isaan to Bangkok. I am at the payment link stage now and don't want to finish it until I have checked out this option.
  21. Trying living in Isaarn if you think train travellers shout!
  22. I did the same only from Bangkok when we were headed for Samui. I binned the tickets and flew back and we were in one of the cabins featured in the article. Never again I promised myself.
