  1. Thanks for the answers guys ;

@ John : Except the fact that your light flickers (!) how does it render compared to your previous halogen light ? Is it a huge gain ? is it too strong ? (I often get blinded by morons who put way too powerful LEDs on their bikes, even in daytime !) ?

@Tanintai : your halogen bulb keeps blowing ? You got some electrical issues on your bike, no doubt ! My bulb is 12 years old and still fine.

The things that worry me is the "cutting wire parts" not that it's complicated but just ... you know !

Dallen : Can you ask your wife what good HID H4 bulb i could buy ? ????

Didn't know about HID, they seem to be a good alternative, LEDs just sometimes look too powerful and it's hard to make a choice within the thousands and thousands of "brands" & models.

  2. Anyone knows what kind of H4 headlight replacement bulb i could buy for my cb400sf ? LED ones?

It's just ... not good enough at dark, halogen's way too weak, anyone with a similar headlight has a positive feedback with let's say LED bulbs ?

Which model are you using precisely? Where to buy ? there's millions of different LED models available on the net, i'd like to have a true feedback by someone who is actually using it on a similar headlight type.

    Thanks !

(that kind of headlight, not my picture) :

    ????????????????????????????????

you Need to lock that stuff away in a cool dark room...lol

agree with what your saying there is some vicious cleaning products out there ,a lot of the wheel cleaners react the same ,,,coupled with this being Thailand it’s anyones guess what’s in there ,.

AAaaaah, Thailand, you think you're buying a regular steel cleaning product and you end up with hydroelectric acid with no label on it !

I'm not even sure it's written "acid" somewhere on the box in Thai !? It's like a kinder surprise, you never know what you're gona get in there !

  4. Just now, KhunBENQ said:

that compared to it's obviously dangerous content it is poorly labeled.

In the west you would have all kind of warning labels.

And maybe it wouldn't even be traded for "everyone".

Yah i'm pretty sure that kind of stuff would not be sold in the west.

It reacted like the kind of acid you can put in you ceramic toilet and it just turns white again within minutes (or break your toilet in 2, yah don't laugh, it can happen !)

Do you know if the formula is labelled anywhere on the pictures in Thai? i really wanna know what's inside.

Could it be an exhaust cleaner

Not for sniffing. Not for floor polish. Not for dish cleaning.

Yah thanks for telling me it was an exhaust cleaning product ????

I't just incredibly STRONG, never handled anything like that.

Like my 2nd strongest similar product which is a stainless steel cleaner (aggressive too) literally looks like tap water compared to that flesh eater.

  6. Ahaha, liked a lot of the comments above !

    Well surprisingly, the index helmets like the white one that someone showed earlier, are pretty strong for the price ;

One time i was driving on a bridge and did not tied my helmet properly, a blow of wind just pulled it out of my head and it crashed under a taxi coming behind me (hit the bumper quite bad and then went under it), and we were "fast" (90-100).

Taxi drove about 100 meters with the helmet stuck and i could hear it being rapp** by the road.

Taxi guy pulled it out and gave it back to me, it was obviously scratched but still in one piece (!).

Now the problem with these cheap index helmets is the foam inside, it doesn't last long and after few month you end up with a helmet just way too big so basically useless if you crash.

  7. Hey,

Anyone knows what is that stuff exactly. ..!!?!

Just bought it from lazada and used it, it's just ... insane (in the bad way).

Does it works ? heck yea, positive, you can dissolve a human being in that crap if you want to (NOT kidding).

First warning, received it, opened the box, the stuff was in a vacuum sealed plastic bag, about 200ml of it was already evaporated and trapped in the sealed bag despite the 2 safety caps on the can.

2nd warning, smelled it (far away, didn't stick my nose in there), well about 1 meter away i went high, it just burns ! Forget crack cocaine, just buy that and grab a 7/11 bag, you'll have a short life, maybe a minute or 2, but result guaranteed.

Third warning, few drops felt on my outdoor floor tiles, it just starting to burn whatever dust there was on there.

Then i used rubber gloves, i could feel the stuff heating real bad through the glove and through the sponge !! The smell was still burning my lungs, had to hold my breath, yah i know what you'r thinking, just go get a "medical mask, well the closest 7/11 to me is like at 120 meters, it was just too far (!).

There's a kind of acid in there, but which one ? and how highly concentrated ? It's not 1-2%, absolutely no doubt about that.

Does anyone knows to read Thai ? what does it says on the front ? How is that legal !

I don't think i'm gona keep that crap, i just feel like it could start a fire in the middle of the night.

  8. Same in Bangkok,

Look at Pantip plaza ! it's dead now, 50% of the shops are closed, also where i live there was a small shopping center with 2-3 floors of I.T shops, 2/3 closed down (Pata pinklao)

Most of the people are ordering online now, physical stores are going down.

Whatever..., your attempted sarcasm is immeterial..., put your typing finger back in it's holster while I introduce you to the "truth" grasshopper....,

Back in 2013, I was in a traffic accident and had to have major dental work involving dental and jaw reconstructions. This could not be undertaken overnight..., dental and orthopaedic work on bones need time to heal and 'settle' before the next stage can take place.., meaning every 6 to 8 months for 3 years I would return to BIDC. I paid up front for a couple of 'sets' of implants and a bone graft..., and twice during the course of my various treatments I was told (in very good english)..., that there had been 'developments' during the long course of my total treatment that meant I did not need to have such complicated surgery for the next lot of treatments and therefore my account would be 'credited' accordingly.

Not sure how to take it, not even sure you were serious, quite confused.

So if you were actually serious, (just to make sure we're on the same page) :

Chill out, didn't know what happened to you, was just surprised that a dentist "refunded" something, first time ever hearing such thing.

When you hear "a dentist refunded me" it sounds more like " a dentist f*** up the work and at some point agreed or decided to refund me", it doesn't sounds like "I paid 100% of the treatment in advance, and somewhere in the middle of it, they were some improvements, price went down so they refunded me the difference.

Yes, on the Dell with Win 10 they wanted me to set up a PIN. On one my computer dude changed it to my email PW (more secure), on this second one I kept the PIN.

Not sure which one of your computer you were referring to before,

But my understanding is that you couldn't login anymore because it was linked to your Hotmail account / password so even if your PIN code was correct, it was still trying to authenticate you "online" with your old Hotmail password stored in your computer.

please don't anyone use any Norton products, many years ago I spent 4 hrs removing their software from a friend's computer. it's a nanny programme and takes over your computers resources.

    Ahahah,

It's a miracle that Norton still exists today, after years and years and years of messing up with people's PCs.

    Avoid kaspersky............free or otherwise :whistling:

As previously stated Windows Defender is as good,if not better, than most

    Why that ? Because it's a bad Russian communist software !? ????

I can understand a free version may not be as efficient as a paid one, but KIS (paid) has a good "long" reputation + high detection rate, but no AV is perfect.

I wouldn't use windows defender all alone, combined with an anti malware software and a good firewall (comodo) why not, all alone : no way

Yesterday it happened to my second computer. It wouldn't let me sign into the computer with the ID (I forget what Microsoft called it - it was not designated a PW) I've been using for about 2 years. I had to use my email (hotmail) PW. Which they recently forced me to change. I can't believe no one else has had this happen.

I liked the ID thingy, because after entering it, I didn't have to click. It automatically opened the computer.

How fat are your finger !? (kidding relax)

OK so both things can be related (if i got it right), you had your MS Hotmail account linked to your local computer account, right ?

Were you logging into your computer by using a PIN code or a picture password, right !?

Cause if yes, my guess is that, windows stores / encrypt your Hotmail password on your computer, then when you type your PIN code it "sends" and authenticate online your previously stored Hotmail password.

So at some point if you change your Hotmail password, windows will still has your old Hotmail password in memory and it will try to authenticate your old password when you try to login = declined.

That's a wild guess, is that what you used ? PIN code ?

Perhaps that's why I increasingly but suddenly get a seris of one baht size white circles up and down the left side of my scree, my mouse instantly goes to the bottom left corner then 7 or 8 documents, websites, file listings etc., dance all over my screen and increase and decrease in size, until I switch the notebook off. On restart seems to be all OK for a few hours or a few days.

    Suggestions please...

Eeeeerrr seems like you got a virus or somebody's playing with your computer (trojan) ?

Did you try to install malwarebyte (free trial) and run a full scan ? If you can't or if it doesn't find anything try to do some "online" scans, here are some :

    https://www.eset.com/us/home/online-scanner/

    https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/forHome/products/housecall.html

    https://www.kaspersky.com/free-virus-scan

It's not really "online" since you need to download and install an app but it actually works (sometimes!).

Kaspersky Free is easy on resources, scores well in reviews; the Kaspersky AV without all the bloatware addons of the full Kaspersky Internet Security paid package.

Kaspersky is always a safe bet.

I use Kaspersky (paid, KIS) with malwarebyte (free) on top, they both run great together, only malwarebytes was able to detect and erase some "browser hijack" i had, KIS was totally blind.

yeah...it's a bit confusing as with the many formats .wmv, .avi, .mp4, etc sometimes the VLC software on the laptop can't read it...then you haveta open the menu and select 'open with'...

so now you can watch movies wireless from laptop to TV without an HDMI cable with wifi only? what will they think of next? us neanderthals stick with the old technology as the new stuff makes us nervous...

any buffering with the wifi? any buffering during the Seven Samurai would make Kikuchiyo very annoyed...

    https://www.allposters.com/-sp/The-Seven-Samurai-aka-Shichinin-No-Samurai-Toshiro-Mifune-1954-Posters_i9343601_.htm

Ahaha well i guess next step is that your TV is going to be able to control you through the "networks", oh wait what !? it's already happening!

  17. 3 hours ago, tutsiwarrior said:

most TVs can't play the VLC format...with Windows 10 I download to the laptop with VLC installed then connect to the TV via an HDMI cable the ports for which most TVs and laptops have and play the laptop image thru the TV subtitles included...works OK for my purposes as I watch a lot of films with english subtitles...

Well except than VLC isn't a video "format" it's a player which can read pretty much all of the formats (codecs).

Now all of the smart TVs have players which can read most of the video formats, on some you can even download / install 3rd part software, if you haven't a smart TV but if you have a recent DVD / Blueray player they can read USB video files too.

    Internet TV boxes too.

Another option if you got a smart TV, you can project your desktop / laptop screen via WIFI on your TV via windows "Project to a 2nd screen => Connect to a wireless display", no cable required, you need a decent wifi network speed (A.C)

You have to select input on your TV and select "Screen mirroring" before.

just a point of experiment, you may consider putting TWO EVO 970 in RAID, that optimise the read and write buses; if this setup give you another % of loading time for your VR.  I use this x2 Pro 960 RAID for CAD / design applications and see slightly read time write time advantage.

also come with the Samsung M.2, the Samsung Magician allows a RAPID mode in Windows 10, that gains real-world speed improvement.  oh . . . you may need a higher RAM capacity for it.

    https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/magician/

    cheers

    EDIT :

Samsung Magician was designed for SSD sata interface.

mmmm wouldn't recommend raid 0 m.2 drives, the benefits in real life are not measurable unless you are transferring / reading large files, otherwise it's gona have pretty much the same performances as a single drive.

If you want to be a badass ???? you can still use one of these ASUS 4x nvme raid 0 card if you got the money (proper CPU / mobo) https://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessory/HYPER-M-2-X16-CARD/specifications/

Answering OP : YES definitely, they can do whatever they want.

It's probably not gonna happen but there's always a risk, however if you fly from UK with a valid return ticket and cash with you i would think it reduces the risks VS flying from a neighboring Asian country with no cash and or no return ticket, for example !.

I've not opened it to check yet but I think the 2TB drive inside the WD my book live is 3.5", would those adaptors without a power supply still work for a 3.5" or would I need to buy one with the supply?

(Lazada has the Orico adaptor you recommended for 450B)

    Nope.

Those adapters without external power supply will only get 2.5" HDDs working, for 3.5" HDDs you need an adapter with external power.

USB 3 ports can only deliver 900mah which is not enough for 3.5" HDDs.

(Now if you have USB 3.1 gen 2 ports they can deliver way more power than the 3.0 or 3.1 gen 1 ports)

  21. Hibernate would be something more laptop oriented,

It's in between shutdown and sleep, allows you to keep your work opened and "turn off" your computer without any power consumption = no battery drain.

SLEEP mode will slowly drain your battery because your opened data is stored on the computer's RAM which require constant power in order to keep the data available, on the other hand RAM memory is very fast so your PC will wake up real fast.

HIBERNATE mode will store your opened data on your hard drive which doesn't require any power to keep your data available, but HDD / SSD memory is slower than RAM so your computer will be slower to wake up.

So the main difference with SLEEP is that it can be slower to wake up your laptop in hibernate mode vs sleep but it doesn't drain off any battery, you can leave your laptop "turned off" with your work opened for ages.

Now most of the laptops have fast SSDs so it's not as slow as before to wake up your laptop in hibernate mode.

Not really useful for desktops, it's kind of a forgotten option because now the laptops have a much greater battery life than they used to.

There is no "grey area". The law is crystal clear that you cannot carry out any occupation or be employed without permission.

Section 37 : An alien having received a temporary entry permit into the Kingdom must comply with the following :

    1. Shall not engage in the occupation or temporary or employment unless authorized by the Director General. or competent official deputized by the Director General . If , in any case , there is a law concerning alien employment provided hereafter , the granting of work privileges must comply with the law concerned.

It is the enforcement of the law, or lack of, that causes confusion. Most foreigners working remotely would almost certainly not be prosecuted, especially if in the country on holiday as a tourist. But working at your job/business (occupation) is illegal without permission.

    Amen to that !
