  1. Hey guys,

Just changed my bike's oil about 2 weeks ago, they put a standard liqui moly 10w40 synthetic "street" oil.

From that day, from time to time my clutch slips when i switch UP at high RPMs (around 12-13K RPM) never happened before, just like 10 minutes ago i switched 3rd to 4th gear and the clutch slipped and the gearbox went in "fake neutral" (not sure how to call that in English).

You guys already had similar experiences? Especially with that brand?

PS : it only happens at high RPM gear up, not slipping at all under any other circumstances (at least for now).

    You are right...my apologies.

I got my wife to inquire about buying one of the CT 400s. She was told none were available.

    Not surprising.

Come here, oh wait we don't have any of those anymore, but we have that new model for 1xx,xxx baht if you want !

Could be they are closing out the old models as the Scrambler is not on that discount list and I have seen a Mash (what the Stallions are branded in Europe) 650 twin that is coming out this year.

    Hope so.

But 60% just because they're eventually releasing a newer model is still pretty insane, i guess they figured out the street demands are too low and it would have take them 2 years to get rid of their current stock.

Damm the sellers must be pretty pissed off too, imagine you have 4-5 of these models in stock waiting to be sold and the factory just kills you with a 60% discount on the same model.

I never got to check the rear tyre for age as my step daughter left early this morning but the tyres should be done today.  I don't think it was that old.  There was still tread on it but obviously the splits render it useless.

There is a problem when so many of the people who fit tyres in this country, even in main dealerships seem to ignore the recommended pressures by so much that it creates danger.

Don't really need to check the year, they're dead, both, no question !

Change it ASAP, any small things can get into these cracks and blow it right away = lost of control = if you're doing 60-70 and hit a pickup doing 80 = dead.

Thanks guys. This is all pretty much what I knew already but I just thought instead of being a know it all I'd  ask to see if iI'm right and it appears I am? I didn't know about the date stamp so I can see the front one is about 5 years old I'll check the rear tomorrow. I've already said the front is bald but they both need changing due to the cracks which I'm not surprised about at those pressures. Fortunately my step daughter isn't heavy but it could still kill her.

I know the pressures are in the manual but it would involve reading to find them out and as far as I can see Thais don't do reading of manuals.

Even the Honda dealership overinflate the tyres. I watch them once using an airline with no gauge. When you can tell the pressures are wrong just by riding on it then you know things are bad.

Probably a combination of over inflation + where do you park the bike ? I guess outside directly under the sun ? They seems all dried out from age + UV.

    2018 -1993 = 25 years!

Definitely this is the cause for the deterioration of the tyres.

Change it soon, before an accident occur.

Aha i was kidding, no idea how old they are, quite old fore sure !

Wasn't there a reasonably stable operating system in the middle, windows XP. It still runs on 40% of the worlds computers.

Wasn't quite stable at release, it became stable after SP1 was released, SP3 started to be really rock solid.

There was windows 2000 before, few people knew and were using it, but that was a very solid OS (previous NT versions were solid too, but 2000, even if it wasn't advertised as a workstation, you could still run pretty much everything on it).

Linux is still the best option.

It is, but i gotta admit Microsoft is finally doing a great job with its main OS.

For those who can remember, windows 98, windows millenium argh, look how far they are now ! A stable OS, unthinkable before.

We used to joke  (Microsoft speaking) :

    With windows 98 we were really on the edge of the abyss ;

With windows millennium, we finally took a step forward.

I usually go to BIDC..., and yes they probably are more expensive that other large dental specialists..., many well off Thai, Chinese and just middle income westerners go there because it's quality work - specialist diagnostic and treatment is all available there 'in house'. I fit into the 3rd group and personally I always go there because they have better quality 'specialists'...., no doubt others will choose a different belief. I've been very surprised 2 times.., to actually get a refund..., that surprised the **** out of me...., to my knowledge no dentist, anywhere, ever gave a refund !
Also..., 2 different groups of friends have now also been there..., when they returned they were pretty close to 'evangelical' about their experiences !

You got a refund for what !? your teeth started to fall a week after being to BIDC and they refunded you ? How nice of them.

The text does not describe a renewal/extension but doing a new license from scratch.

It looks quite consistent with the rules/procedures known.

And it indeed takes two days to do.

But renewal also requires the usual reaction and eye sight tests.

    Oh okay.

Cause i tried to translate the page with google and it was talking about renewal, i was pretty sure the translation was doomed !

  11. After the CB1000 last year, honda develloped a "Neo sport cafe" version of the CB650F project.

There's not much details about the specs, it should have the Cbr650 engine, but tweaked or not ? we can only see the different exhaust / fork.

There's no official launch date yet, but since they have already done it with the CBR1000, we can assume they will actually develop this model pretty soon.

For the rest it's.... confusing, i don't know if i like it or hate it yet, i hate the tail (too short) and the headlight ???? that's for sure, what about you ?

  12. Just renewed mine.

You'll have to watch a 1hr video and at least in my DLT there was like 3 or 4 different times available, the last one was at 1:30PM.

I guess the time changes depending of each DLT, you should give them a call or go there before to check the timetable in advance, you don't want to be there and waste 2 hours because you went in at the wrong time.

Maybe i was lucky, but i arrived there around 12:45 and i was out at 3:00.

At the same time there was a Canadian guy who arrived early morning around 10 left at 2:45 (he was renewing his DL just like me)

So i would think it goes faster when you'r in the "last batch" for the video viewing.

Arrived / waited 30 minutes for them to fill my details in their system

Went to eye / depth tests : 5 minutes out

Waited 15-20 minutes for the video to start

    Watched the video 1 hour

Went out to eat for 20 minutes, came back, BANG number 471 was called, i was 475.

Picked up the DL, about 10-15 minutes (somebody had screwed up my last name, they had to correct it in their system).

PS : Send my regards to Miss Manao !

PayPal make their money from currency trading not small fees. Their International currency conversion rates are the highest anywhere.

    Indeed !

But there's an option that you can select so that if you buy something in another currency, the conversion will be done by your bank and not paypal.

It's hidden somewhere in your wallet / payment options, of course, by default paypal do the conversion for you with their crazy rates :
