  1. Chinese men are not interested in girls, so I don't see why the Chinese presence would effect girl prices.
  2. Thoughts and prayers for the victims and their relatives. Yarhamukallah.
  3. I called it on May 7: If the Thai population doesn't have the guts to fight this upcoming injustice tooth and nail by becoming martyrs of The Revolution, then I have no sympathy anymore for them and they deserve every ounce of bad luck that, by the Grace of Our Good Lord, will befall them.
  4. What's a "flyover"? Why don't y'all Brits just say overpass, like most people on the planet do?
  5. Som nam na. If you play with fire, you'll get burnt.
  6. Too much speculation in this thread. These TV topics have a way of attracting too many people who don't have a clue about the story and just make up their own version of events. Please stay away.
  7. Moral support is more appropriately given by staying away, Lung Tu.
  8. Near Hat Yai Airport you can park your car under a roof, with 24 hour security around. From the airport itself there are minivans straight to the Padang Besar and Dannok border crossings. I suggest taking that route.
  9. Too many places to mention, since my goal is to stay overnight in all provinces. Just traveling through during daylight hours I do not count as visiting a province.
  10. Thoughts and prayers for the injured and all victims' relatives. ????????????????
  11. Too much paperwork involved. One needs a license plate sticker in the Malaysian style, Malaysian insurance, a permit to leave Thailand, the care to be fully paid off and driven by the owner. Plus, the darkening film on the windscreen may not measure more than 40 percent. I would only recommend driving to Malaysia in case you're planning to do it often.
  12. Very sad. An acquaintance of my gf's best friend died in the explosion as well. Hoping the missing people are located safe and sound.
  13. I live about 200 kms south of HY, but have never experienced any fear or hatred towards westerners. Not because of Covid or anything else.
  14. He may hope so, but cannot guarantee it.????
  15. It's bad enough that men are allowed to compete with - and beat - women in sports, but now they're also allowed to compete in beauty contests. Masha Allah! What has the world come to? La Ilaha...
  16. How many ways are there to spell a name? Peter/Petter, Walter/Ralter and Mack/Mach. They make for a total of 2^3=8 combinations. If you combine the fact his first name can be spelled with or without a dash, you get an even higher number of 2^4=16 different names. Fwiw, just my 2 cents.
  17. As someone living in the region, I can recommend a visit to the three southern border provinces. If only to experience a unique part of Thailand.
  18. I see a lot of 'solutions' being proposed here, but don't you think we should ask the locals what they want? Both Muslims and Buddhists of course. Do not repeat the mistake of 1909.
  19. Has UTP ever been anything but dead? And the local honchos keep talking crap about it becoming a third Bangkok gateway. Really? ????
  20. Living in Narathiwat, checkpoints are hardly a nuisance. You just lower your speed, but as a foreigner, you're rarely ever stopped by the soldiers, barely losing time on your travels.
  21. Alhamdulilah. May our brothers and sisters learn the language of the Holy Qur'an and further their education in Saudi Arabia or other Arab nations.
