  1. The Songkhla - Yala border has been closed due to the latest Covid numbers. You will not be able to enter the province of Yala.
  2. As a teacher I would rather go back to school ASAP. I miss contact with my colleagues, students and general life in and around school. I live in a small town with most areas near schools absolutely abandoned now. Businesses must suffer big time.
  3. Meanwhile, schools in the deep south have been told they must stay closed for onsite learning. At least until 1 January. Well, that's another year wasted.
  4. I feel saddened by what has happened to my fellow residents in the deep south. I pray to God that people can accept the available vaccines in their hearts and minds and that the provinces may reopen to tourists soon.
  5. Why not anything about reopening schools? Both my students and I cannot wait to get back in an actual classroom. But, no, the govt doesn't care about that. God forbid people learn anything that may make them question the status quo.
  6. Why does no one ever talk about the four Southern Provinces. They combine for almost 25 percent of the total number of daily infections and the numbers are still growing. Do I need to remind you of the planned Songkhla, Yala and Narathiwat sandbox/reopening?
  7. Another easy win for The General. Thai people really love him, that much is clear. Just look at the numbers.????
  8. Any numbers on caucasian white farangs having passed away from Covid yet?
  9. I live in the deep south and Lazada charges at least 200 baht for every delivery to the three provinces, due to danger money being added. Shopee charges normal shipping fees.
  10. Y'all think way too much into this, guys. Just go with the flow and let your school take care of it if worst comes to worst. I do not for a minute worry about financial ramifications of getting tested positive. I worry more about when my school's gonna reopen. LOL
  11. You worry too much. If the school actually cares about its (foreign) teachers, it will make sure you don't end up with those kind of bills and/or lose your job. I'm enrolled in the govt social security program and expect to be taken to a public field hospital or hospitel if testing positive. So far I haven't even been tested. I have received the double jab already though.
  12. The insurgents see the lack of vaccines as an extra incentive for attacks.
  13. Which vaccine would you like to get? In Narathiwat Province the Sinovac and AZ vaccines were widely available - I got the combination - and I believe my students are getting Pfizer shots this month. For adults there is no Pfizer available here yet.
  14. I've had my second shot more than two months ago already. I'm not so sure if the four provinces really haven't got enough vaccines.
  15. Sounds good. Since I go to Yala regularly I will ask my Al-Qaeda friends there if they have something special prepared for the farang kufars brave enough to travel there. Should be a blast.
  16. Meanwhile, Betong Airport is still sitting there unused and looking pretty. My inside contact has already predicted it won't open before Songkran 2022. At the slow rate the opening is being managed they might as well tear the airport down again. No Chinese are incoming for the foreseeable future anyway.
  17. They're gonna prevent people from traveling. No interprovincial travel anymore from and to the deep south. The gov't wants to seal the area off from the rest of Thailand. Like I said, no Yala or Songkhla sandbox for sure. If you wanna travel here from Bangkok or elsewhere, you're sh*** out of luck.
  18. Nah. Most people ain't goin nowhere bro. If you ain't got no money how you gon travel??
