  1. Thais blame it on Ebola and global economy. No Thais at fault. No Thais responsible. The hubris of these Thais is astonishing and the Thai press just keeps on keeping on. Never a question asked, never a challenge to some pompous bureaucrat making pontifications like this.

Yes, every reasonable person knows it is Thais fault car sales are down overseas where these foreign car manufacturers located in Thailand export their vehicles crazy.gif

The difference with most Thais vs many posters here is if they see a story like this and chuckle and move on without trying to attribute it to some grand theory other than a stupid or miscommunicated comment.

    No they don't.

The average thread on pantip.com puts on about 300 replies an hour and the ramblings are even more insane and uneduacated as yours.

They hate farangs a lot as well..... They especially laugh at Thai apologists.

  2. We have had 4% 5%, 6% forecast for the remainder of 2014 since the coup and that figure is down to between 0.6 and 1% from two different sources.

What they are doing is trying to hoodwink foreign investor into putting money into this drain.

The reality is going to be recession and i am seeing signs of it, the biggest sign is when people start lying about economic growth..... That is the biggest alarm of the lot... They say Japanese trade is on the up... It is actually on the way down.

It's a bit desperate when a ministry has to resort to blaming the fact that car manufacturing is moving from Thailand to Indonesia as being an effect of Ebola.

Thailand.... you couldn't make it up.

  3. Look.......

This is just more bluster and blow and rumour-mongering to make Thailand look successful (to themselves).

Now the truth and the cold blow of reality.

No astute businessman from the west is going to consider Thailand with its bubble economy on a knife edge, and in recession.

Thailand's economy could go down the crapper at any time on several fronts. Thailand is probably among the worst places on earth to do investment at the moment.

Astute businessmen invest in stable places..... Thailand is no longer even safe to walk the streets at the moment, the country is under martial law and the place is increasingly being revealed as being ruled by a tyrannical dictatorship.

I built my business up here, and I have hardly invested a baht in it..... I pull as much money out of the country as I can and sit it in a safe place.

I am one farang that is not putting money into this place... I am removing theirs :)

  4. Great news.

Keep dropping and dropping until Thailand realises we are not second class humans compared with Thais... we are in fact essential for the survival of this country.

I hope they lose all their tourism.... serves them right.

Possible serial killer on Koh Tao and they are covering it up.

If you think farangs are essential for survival of Thailand you are sadly mistaken. Tourism officially counts as around 6% of the economy, and farangs are probably a very small part of that %.

However, it is no excuse to treat farangs so badly.

I didn't say farangs.... I was on about tourism (tourists)

    Big diffrence.

Tourists bring 2.2 trillion into the Thai economy from outside the country.

Annual government spending is 2.2 to 2.5 trillion per annum.

They are already creaking at the seams with a 700 Bn baht loss on the rice scam and having to issue bonds to plug the hole.

So tourists are responsible for providing this country with around the same amount the government needs to run the country..... remove that outside income and Thailand is in the crapper.

But don't take my word for it.. Tourism is also responsible for over 3 million jobs.

Nice to see you are optimistic.... what will thyey do?.... grow and export 2.2 trillion of extra rice and rubber a year?

    Edit.

Not to mention when it goes away, it usually never comes back, so that amounts to 2.2 trillion every single year, less in the economy.

It will end up with the same boom and bust as Spain which now needs an EU bailout seven times bigger than Greece... Spain was booming back in the 80s and 90s.... I was there regular in those decades, it was thriving with tourists.... I last went there in 2006 and it is a total ghost town.

I hope they lose all their tourism.... serves them right.

Yes, let the 10 mio or so Thais that work in the tourist industry suffer, because some BiB f*****ed up the Koh Tao investigation.blink.png

With that attitude I hope your cheese business will go down the drain and your suppliers will cheat you as much as they can. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/776941-ripoffs-go-right-to-the-top/

Personally.... I don't give a damn about what you think.

People are being murdered here in Thailand and all we get is a wall of silence from all these so called sufferers.

If the people who are really suffering gang up on the minority who are covering these crimes up want to continue.... Then they deserve it.

At the end of the day.... if all these people cared so much about those who line their pockets (tourists), they will stand up for what is right. To protect these people and at least preserve their income.

The fact that they just take it on the chin is enough in my opinion to say they do not deserve it.

As far as my cheese making business is..... I am making loads of money and it is expanding by the month to the point I will have a full on factory within 2 years...... and why?????..... Because the Thais have been ripping people off on the price of cheese from the word go.

I can undercut the Thais by 30% and am still making loads of money and it is getting bigger by the month Currently at 450,000 a month profit on cream cheese alone,,, If I go national supplying Makro, Big C and Tesco, we are talking 30 million a year.......... so dream on pal.

Haha...95% chance this is BS because anyone who does business in Thailand knows this is not AT ALL how things work there. If a foreigner is successful taking away business from locals that NEVER goes unnoticed or unanswered. Haha....better educate yourself better before trying to bs people.

Man.... you know nowt about business in Thailand.

The majority of cream cheese in this country is Kraft chemically enhanced product.

There aint nobody doing it because it is alien to them.

    Hahahahahaha.

Laugh as much as you like, but cream cheese is huge here at the moment with creanm cheese frosted cakes etc.... My customers are bakers.

No Thai can come close to my quality and price.

How to beat a Thai in Thailand..... beat them on quality and price.... they can't touch you.

    YOU KNOW NOTHING PAL.

EDIT: By the way... I have been going 2 years now and not a single person has started up against me. Says a lot really... If i was making pizzas, I would be copied within weeks... NO... i am making cheese. Most Thais wouldn't even know what cheese tastes like

I ill continue to rise and no Thai will have a clue how to stop me.

  6. They must have CCTV footage of them stealing the exhibits. I am sure they have more cameras than this.

They probably were bought by the Americans from a staff member, but obviously the Thais can't see a Thai prosecuted when two farangs look much better for the Thai authorities.

I am sure the Americans will make a statement eventually to that effect.

Much more believable as well if you ask me. How many farangs will steal unless they are absolutely desperate in a country that is very severe on prison sentences.... especially for farang.

  7. It makes me chuckle when corruption actually has its own set of statistics as though it were an industry in itself.

'The corruption industry has suffered a bit of a slump in Q3 with a growth rate of only 0.3% compared with the same period last year.... But forecasters feel confident that there will be a rebound in Q4 with an overall annual growth of 2.3% on last year.... adding that there have been major gains in Land Office corruption driving future growth.'.

Maybe Thai corruption should be floated on the SET. We can all speculate and invest in it.

If I could have bought up as many shares as I could afford when Prayuth staged the coup and promised to end corruption, I would have picked them up at a steal... Wow... how much they would be worth today not that the market has stabilized and everyone has figured out that the whole thing was a hoax to drive down the price and there had in fact been a load of insider trading. smile.png

  8. Snig27 post # 9

Indeed - you have to wonder what will happen to these poor kids. How dare they think for themselves.

(Waiting for some idiot to mention Thaksin now, as in "what about under Thaksin?")

Edit: I see I was too late.

An interesting comment there Snig27. You yourself posted the first ''Thaksin '' comment.

Think before you post and do not judge yourself so harshly whistling.gif

Well seeing as the genie is already out of the bottle.

'What about under Thaksin'?.... They would probably find themselves in prison for the foreseeable.

  9. Police stop Kasetsart students from protesting against Mae Wong project

Stifling the people's right to voice their concerns publicly is going to backfire in the end.

It will make more groups even more determined to make their point.

You will drive it underground and that is where it is much more difficult to control.

Eventually a massive protest will be organised and the people will NOT disperse.

What then?.... the world can sit back and watch while police and soldiers beat, arrest and shoot protesters?

The more you oppress the people, the more they will revolt. Messing with protesting students is not the best thing to do. These types are seldom afraid of threats to arrest.

This time ALL the media will be behind the protesters.

  10. Anything that can be hit by meteors etc can hold organic life just like earth.

They bring water that is trapped in salt crystals tiny droplets at a time. These combine to form bodies of water that absorb into certain strata I believe which contain amino acids. the building blocks of life.

It is absurd and quite arrogant for some people to disbelieve that there is other life out there.

The universe and even our solar system is absolutely teaming with life.

The universe and even our solar system is absolutely teaming with life.

Really! News to me, could you point me to a reference about any other sort of known life not from this planet please?

Damn canman.... sorry there... I meant to type 'galaxy'. Not solar system.... But then again, still possible, we haven't been to another planet yet.

Amino acids are not found in strata of rock unless they were put there by plants. Amino acids ARE the building blocks of life. They are also the exclusive product of life and do not exist without a living source to provide them. The Organic compounds they have found on the comet are not as complex as amino acids. The definition of Organic in chemistry is still ambiguous. By one definition Methane (CH4) is organic since it contains carbon. Methane is found in the atmosphere of Jupiter - no big deal. Other definitions require that an organic compound contain linked carbon atoms to form a carbon chain such as is found in sugars or fossil fuels. So far the only source of carbon chains is the by-product of living systems. Scientists with the comet project are hoping to find complex carbon molecules so that they can fill the huge, enormous, gigantic, gaping-hole-question in the whole evolution theory: where did the organic compounds come from that led to spontaneous generation of life? It is kind of a chicken and egg question. If life requires organic compounds but organic compounds require previously existing life - that means that the first living thing had to be made by intelligent design OR it was an accident that resulted from ingredients that fell from the sky eons ago. The evolutionists are "praying" they find complex carbon chains in space because not finding them would absolutely devastate their theory. When you push the top evolutionists right to the wall about the beginning of the whole evolutionary story - they are forced to guess that the ingredients fell from the sky or else were placed here by amazingly advanced beings (and how is that so different from the advanced being that some call God?). Of course if these compounds for life came from comets and asteroids then we have to ask: so how did they get on the comet or asteroid? So the "solution" to the evolutionary quandary is really just a path to a much bigger conundrum. I have met some truly awe inspiring minds in science. People who make my paltry 145 IQ look retarded. They have all come to the conclusion that life does exist beyond the human sphere - and at least one of those beings is the one who created life on Earth. Call that being what ever you will, but if he has a preference as to what we call him - it would probably be a good idea for us to find that out. My Tee Rak and I have different ideas in that regard but I love her and respect her enough to join her in pushing Krathong into the water and walking around the Wat three times, and she joins me at church and we love to compare notes afterwards. We play together nicely. Evolutionists are like secular "Muslims" however. They do not play well with others and often hope to see those who do not agree with them in a headless state. Some of the vilest diatribes I have heard come from evolutionists who bully those who dare to question them about the roots of their doctrine. I wonder if my comments will generate any today?

    Sigh.....

So amino acids must come from plant life etc...?

So I suppose some of the finest minds in geology are wrong then.

Take a look from 33 minutes onwards, it will explain how the oldest and most unchanged sample of a meteorite was found to contain amino acids. As a matter of fact watch the whole video. It is very interesting and up to date. (A lot of older theory is constantly debunked as theory without evidence.... this is evidence based).

If it has to be put there by plants or other organic matter in the first place, then maybe the supernova that exploded to provide the materials for our solar system had a forest on it before it exploded, but I doubt that somehow..

The closest they have been able to gauge the age of the earth is 4,567,000,000 years old and they have actual proof (recent proof) that there were actually oceans present on the earth at 4,200,000,000 So quite early on in the scheme of things.

So you have water that is awash with minerals and amino acids like a big soup. The whatever happened, just simply the correct combination got together and decided to have a party and the first very basic bacterial life was formed. This produced stromatolite based coral which provided the last ingredient.... oxygen.

    After that evolution took over.

But please be my guest and watch this video... I think everyone would like it and learn a lot from it.
