Don't be so quick to knock the place, it is afterall where you'll go running to if life in the Land of Smiles goes to rat <deleted>.
It is also the place that gave you sufficient prospects in life to be able to make the choices you are making now.
Exactly.

I have had no BBC, CNN, Star Sports or ESPN this morning.
Mine was OK, I think they have been moved up to about 75ish...

Where you looking for the "Music" thread?

The handbag contained a lot of valuables; 1,500 – 1,600 Dollars, 4,000 Baht, 30,000 Yen, a gold necklace and gold ring, a Fuji digital camera, a Sony IPod, a mobile phone, their ATMs and ID.
I know it's not there fault and there is no excuse for this kind of savagery, but what kind of a mong walks around a dodgy, dark area of a city carrying this much?

Whats my name? Snoop Dog

Gotto agree Kmart, I went back with my GF last summer and we loved it. Driving was a pleasure, I had forgotten how a safe road should look!! Eating out in restaurants was also an eye opener, i.e. good service, relaxing atmosphere (without music blaring out) and getting what you actually ordered!!
Even so, it was nice to get back to Thailand!!

I used to live there a few years ago. Unfortunatly it has changed somewhat since my stint, however, by the sounds of it I don't think Sairee beach will be up your street (party town).
Chalok Baan Gao is a nice area, there are some gorgeous villas down there attached to the "Jamakiri Spa". I think they go for about 6000 baht a night (you'll have to check this tho as I haven't been there for ages) Even if you don't stay there, the spa is well worth a visit.
For a quiter stay you could consider looking to the East coast, perhaps Tanote bay?
I'll try to remember the names of some more places. In the meantime I'm sure someone else with more recent knowledge of the island will help.

Whats he gonna do with them??!! Sounds like rubbish IMHO. Jumping on the stem cell "all curing elixr" band wagon and trying to make a few bucks in the process.
Yes, there is great potential in the use of stem cells. Are these uses developed, tested and viable now? No.

I live near Prakanong BTS, and that whole area has got to have the worst pavements in BKK. It's a disgrace!

There's another thread on TV today about the breakfast in the Irish Xchange on Silom, supposed to be pretty nice and reasonably priced. Haven't been there myself tho...

The Dubliner is on Sukhumvit road (near the entrance to soi 22 )

Oh, Dear.
Robski, that is most disrespectful to fellow TV members and any country.
Sure, not all football hooligans and heathens stand up for anthems, but many do out of a sign of RESPECT.
Please wash your mouth out with soap and come back with more manners.
Did someone get out of the wrong side of bed this morning?
-
A bit of Jintara!!
-
I going to do that everyday
Ok then, fatty.
-
The Dubliner does a lovely fried breakfast

I didn't realise it was a trilogy. 3 hours is a long to wait for a "to be continued" but I did it for "Lord of the Rings" so I might as well check this out too.

Pretty self-explanitory really, it came out last week, has anyone seen it?

Prefer the other food court in emporium - specially the soup noodles with bbq pork, wonton and crabmeat. yum.
I agree, the cheaper food court is very nice in Emporium, not the usual overcrowded mess that you expect from shopping centre food courts. The pasta is quite nice here to (considering it's only about 60 baht!)
Thai Xenophobia
in General Topics

If Thailand was xenophobic I don't think that you would be able detect it if your experience was limited to the usual "tourist bubble" experience, i.e. Hotels, bars, people within the tourism sector, "touristy areas" etc etc.
You are far more likely to witness xenophobia during "everyday tasks" such as opening a bank account, grocery shopping, buying/renting accomodation, the daily commute, "Soi life" etc. etc.
This side of the culture can only be experienced if you are living in a country full time.
Could this stark difference of personal experience be the stumbling block in this arguement?
