  1. Hi Guys,

After reading your recomendation, I spent 3 nights in Phanom Bencha Resort and it was really nice. The staff were really friendly and I would definatly recommend a visit there if you are going to Krabi.

    Thanks again.

    :o

  2. As it happens I went ice skating on Xmas day. The place was over in Bangna area, I think it was called Imperial Mall or something like that. 150 baht including skate hire. Excellent ice - not slushy at all. Boots are pretty uncomfortable though

  3. I didn't sell my PS3 in the end so I kept it for an xmas present from me, to myself :o

I have got it set up via my wireless router so I can surf the web on it - no problems.

However, when I try to set up a PLAYSTATIONNetwork account it asks for my address. As the PS3 is only supposed to be released in US Jap etc., there is no option for Thailand.

    So now for my questions...

Do I need to set up a Playstation Network account in order to be able to play games with other players online?

    Is it free?

Has anyone else in Thailand managed to set it up? if so, how?

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :D

  4. My claim to fame is that I became engaged and married two women at the same time on the Jerry Springer show. Was pushing my belief that all women are bi-sexual and that all they need is a loving non-judgmental environment to explore their sexuality. The show did so well they they did two follow ups and flew me back in to talk about open relationships. After that the Ricky Lake show picked me up for their valentines special to talk about unconventional relationships. The fifteen minutes was over after that.. and the marriages didn't last much longer either ...

    :o:D

  5. I am (distantly) related to the royal poet John Dryden. My family still has a Royal trust stately home in England which was built by the Uk royal family for John, you can pay to visit it (Canons Ashby), family weddings, funerals etc are still held there.

My uncle is mates with Nick Faldo and I have met him a few times.

My cousin has been the private pilot for; Eddie Jordan, Mick Hucknel etc etc

I was the the model for Nokia XpressPrint adverts in SE Asia.

My grandad was a Cheltenham Town FC striker.

  6. ohhh and ashacat...lava bar eh! used to be my hangout at one point has been a while since i was there actually...but now I go to the more sedate Blues Bar quite a cool place actually..turning to be my fav hangout for the last few months

Yeah, I've been goin there for far too long!

It was the bar managers' (and good friend of mine) birthday last night so it was free whiskey accompanied by general carnage etc.

    Great night.

  7. Interesting to read this thread as I have been listening to my English mate complaining that he cannot understand his lecturers and about the general quality of teaching in ABAC for ages.

I thought he was just being a whinging git. Maybe not.

  8. I just checked out the link for the Phanom Bencha Mountain resort, it looks lovely!

How long do you think it takes to get to Ao Nang and the beach area from the resort? can it be done on a mototrbike?

It if it is too far for a casual trip, we might stay in Phanom Bencha Mountain Resort for a few days and then spend a night or two on Ao Nang or Railey, any reomendations for a mid priced resort in that area (about 2000 baht a night)

    Cheers

  9. Hi guys,

I have been living in Thailand for quite a few years now, but I still have not made a trip to Krabi!!! So I am planning to go down for a few days next week with my GF.

I have very little idea what Krabi has to offer (apart from beautiful beaches, of course :D )

I am thinking of taking an AirAsia flight (despite the inevitable delay) as they seem to be the cheapest and offer the greatest choice of flight times.

I am looking for mid-range accomadation (hopefully around 1,500-2,000 Baht/night) preferably with a swimming pool. However I'm not too sure where to stay. I will probably hire a motorbike, so I don't need to pay a premium to be in the most expensive area or whatever. We will most likely be chilling out and not partying too hard (so a quiet place would be nice, jungle or beach) however a couple of quiet picturesque bars in the vicinity wouldn't be a bad thing :o ...

Cos I will get a bike I will try to spend time both on the beach and in the junlgy area, any recommendations as to where the best beaches/jungle walks/waterfalls etc are? I have heard read on the forum that Railee beach is very nice, but I assume that it is also pretty expensive to stay, are there any other comparible beaches?

Anything else which I should be aware of? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

  11. Yeah I agree the Bulls Head is good. Nice food (especailly the Fish n' Chips) Very friendly staff and a decent atmosphere.

As 1Lucky pointed out the atmosphere in the Londoner feels more like a bar/club than a nice cosy pub... Iknow which one I'd prefer for Xmas dinner.
