  1. HAHAHAHAHA, had exactly the same experience in my village. And the wise old knowledgeable soothsayers (gossips) will be telling everyone they knew all along "how you can Farang live every day and not go work? I knew he was up to no good" (They have no concept of life savings, investment, planning etc). And the same ones that grab all the locals to go out in the street and bash pots and pans to make a racket when there is a solar eclipse, because the frog god has come to eat the moon and must be scared away. In any case the village I lived in their were people being dragged away by the BIB all the time, I doubt anyone would have noticed. You gotta love em :-)
  2. Had one of these about 9 years ago when I first came here, living in a village. Pleasant enough experience, no dramas. Just sat on the front verandah, took a few selfies, asked a few questions and left. Since moved to new address in a larger city area last 8 years and never heard from anyone. Mate had a random visit the other day, no call first or anything. Just wondering what is the normal protocol? Can they just walk in your home and do a walk around or just come and ask a few questions at the door?
  3. Get all sorts of quirks like that with Lazada. I also find if I am scrolling through several pages often the next page doesn't fully open up, or you go into a product details and you can't click on an item or click on different photos without refreshing the page. Their search function is dreadful also, even using Thai words. I find I get more hits for something I am looking for using Google search and using the Lazada results from Google. FB marketplace is no better either re searches. Using key words and few hits....and next day you see all the suggestions pop up with 20 things that were there all the time with the exact key words you searched but didn't hit in the results....All in an effort to direct you to what they want you to buy rather than what you actually want
  4. I get exactly the same thing lol....I think there is often a little banner across the images you are supposed to be checking off and cant see them all anyway. And if you are supposed to tick any boxes with for stairs....does that also mean the box with a part of the handrail in it? And what happens if you have more than a few goes? do you get locked out? Many of the online shopping sites have their own spam and pop ups now...so you go on to buy a few things....and all sorts of stuff and adverts popping up trying to get you to buy more stuff. So they already have you as a customer and actually make it more difficult for you to buy. I dunno, maybe it is just old guys who can't adapt to changes....like our parents were worried about the effect of too much TV? Maybe it will all work out ok. I hope so but it sure doesn't feel like it :-(
  5. It appears AI isn't terribly intelligent at all. My wife lists products on Facebook for sale...very innocuous kitchen utensils, home wares etc. No humans in the photos. Often the items are rejected due to sexual content or some other such nonsense. They give you a chance to have the post reviewed and it is knocked back again. So it seem they have superior AI bots checking the lower AI ding bots.....no human involvement. I am sure it is all about saving money and making things easier. Right. Was watching a program on military AI and how if one country is developing something their enemies need to also keep up. Drones, robots etc making decisions on targets to destroy...human or otherwise. They have all this stuff ready to go now. They have done tests where at least in a simulator, some of the worlds best fighter pilots would lose against an AI controlled fighter plane 100% of the time. The AI pilot has no fear and can make millisecond judgements. And who is programming these things? I don't see a lot of intelligent beings around these days...People with no hobbies or interests apart from shopping and endlessly scrolling through FB liking inane posts and hoping they will receive the same likes from others. Facebook fairy land, for many these days it is their reality. You only have to look at our world leaders and politicians and the state the world is in. Being a boat person I follow the weather quite a bit and with all their technology they can't seem to make a basic weather forecast these days. Was much more accurate 20-30 years ago when common sense, observation and experience were used rather than computer models. There was a story of an older, retired earth quake analyst coming in to the government office to warn them of an impending event. The younger guys in the office wouldn't have it because their sensors and computer models weren't predicting any issues. 3 days later there was a major quake and they asked the old guy how he knew....He said he saw all the birds flying away. How could AI predict that? One thing AI will never have is CS (common sense) . I recently bought a new TV and had to go through all this rigmorol creating an account, installing their app on my phone. Took me an hour just to able to use my TV. And god help you if you make a mistake entering your PW more than a couple of times and you are locked out. And as it turns out has no benefit to using the TV or anything else. Simply a way of them getting an app on your phone so they can send you endless spam and advertisements all day everyday and probably suck up your other information and buying habits. Anyway good to hear it is not only me having these issues. Way of the world these days
  6. I don't like the way the world is going to be honest. All our information out in cyber space floating around and even major platforms like google and FB getting hacked all the time. I got a virus program / company who send me more spam emails than the actual spammers, not to mention the continuous threatening notifications of how my information is exposed and need to upgrade (pay more) to get their add ons to protect myself. Things seem to have got much worse during covid...like when everyone wasn't paying attention. It feels like it has all gotten out of hand and no one is actually policing it
  7. Been getting this on several sites (Lazada, Shopee etc) I have used and never had an issue. Comes up saying they have notice irregular activity or such and tick a box saying I am not a robot. Then get presented with the picture puzzles where you have to select stairs, traffic lights, bicycles etc. Its not a huge problem but annoying and made me think maybe there is an issue or tracker or something on my computer, though I have AVG virus installed and do regular scans. I do use a VPN sometimes but only seldomly and these picture puzzles come up when the VPN is off or not used for some time. Lazada particularly asks for verification every time I log on now. Anyone have any ideas? Seems odd
  8. Last 2 weeks I noticed my track pad becoming inactive. I usually use the blue tooth mouse that came with the computer but on occasion need the track pad. I don't think it is the track pad itself as initially when I put my fingers on it may work for 5 to 10 seconds then just stops moving. Any ideas?
  9. It is effective as well as the gel and I found it a lot less side effects than the pills. it just doesn't last that long
  10. I have no ED problems at all to be honest....when I do need these pills and probably way too much information here is when a condom is required. I absolutely hate wearing them. Little Kenny backs away at the sight of them. The product I was using certainly heightens sensitivity and makes the whole process a lot more bearable :-)
  11. I been using a product for a few years now called Shom Poo Shern....excellent and always bought online Lazada 350 baht pk 10. They claimed it was herbal but who would know. Looks like recently online sales of meds and even some vitamins have been banned so impossible to buy my old product at a reasonable price. I've tried Kamagra before and was effective but spins me out, blurry vision and face glows like a bulb. Apart from that only effective for 4-6 hours where the Shompoo I was getting 2 days or even more. I believe Ciallis has the same long lasting effects. I was wondering if the product I was using was actually Talfidil (CIalis)? Anyone have any insight? I saw some Talafidil (Ciallis) for sale today from a reputable seller I have used before for a very reasonable price of 280 baht / 10pills (30mg). Anyone have any experience with Ciallis / Talafidil?
  12. Taking my 2016 Forza for a service tomorrow, oil, general check. 26000ks. I bought the bike 2nd hand with about 16000ks. Last service a few years ago I asked them to change the coolant as I didn't know if previous owner had ever done it. Guy said not need. I said change it anyway. Wen I came to pick up the bike I asked him if he'd changed the coolant. Not need. Does coolant need changing at some point or is it only top up wen needed? Does it have a finite lifespan? Not having any heating issues by the way
  13. Jesus your replies are.ignorant and rude
  14. Really? They all do that in Isaan. I think they soak them in sugar water
  15. I don't see how this long detailed post makes anything clearer or "simple" in anyway. And forgive me if you have gone to some trouble on everyone's behalf. You say yourself the details are still not complete which is where we have been for months. Absolutely no offence or negativity intended...just my observation
  16. I did actually have one Crossy, well a few actually. The lighter out put is in the glovebox in a really bad area. The multi outlet needs to be at right angles. I found only one like that on lazada and 3 of them now broken. It had the lighter output for the dash cam and 2 USB ports. I guess I should try and get and extension lead style thing would be better
  17. I got one of those 4 outlet USB hubs you can put into one USB port and feed several different USB things like mem sticks, mouse etc I guess they were designed for data sharing rather than charging. I only have one USB port / charger in the car and wondering if I would be able to use this safely to charge a couple of phones at once and maybe dash cam? Its a fairly decent brand I think (Hoco)
  18. I don't even understand the question let alone the answer. Posts on here getting stranger everyday.
  19. I have seen several Thais I have lived with just randomly scrolling through posts and comments liking anything without even reading them. Why are u doing that? If I like their posts they like mine too. Social media, particularly Facebook is a world of unreality and BS. Unfortunately for many people it has become their reality. People see other couples "happy" posts and become depressed that their relationships / lives aren't like that. They don't consider they are only seeing the highlights...not the daily fights, near break ups etc. Thais particularly don't seem to be able to differentiate or take things with a grain of salt leading to an unhappy, unfulfilled life full of envy and jealousy. The internet is a great tool in many ways but has in my opinion become a monster. We were much better off without it

    AI HUB

They want to be the hub of everything, including space flight 🤣🤣 seems to be a new potential "hub" every few days. Like children getting their ambitions mixed up with their abilities
  21. Got a mate in a bit of bother atm. Aussie guy...Thai wife, basically done a runner and left him with an infant and 3yo. He has been working in Oz for 6 months and came home for a surprise visit, and all hell broke loose. You can fill in the blanks there. Both kids are his, his name on the birth certificate and they are legally married. He is going to approach her to basically pay her off in return for her getting them passports and permission to take them out of the country. Both kids would qualify for citizens by descent but he hasn't done it yet and doesn't really have time. Soooo, normally a Thai person without citizenship would have to get a visa etc to go to Australia. Again he probably doesn't have the time, not sure how long it would take to get a tourist type visa for Australia these days. Used to be a month to 6 weeks from memory. I may be dreaming here but have some memory of kids under a certain age not requiring a visa. Does anyone have any experience / insight on how he could go about it? He could start a custody case and all the rest of it but fact is he doesn't have the funds to stay here that long and needs to get back to work in Oz. Appreciate any help
  22. What a ridiculous post (as usual). You don't think they could find a shopping mall, roof top bar etc in fact anywhere high to do the deed? You don't need a high rise condo
  23. That's weird because my insurance premiums have only gone up the last 5 years. And the insured sum considerably less. Must be like a Thai discount. Jack up the starting price by 30% and give 10% discount
