  1. Are you claiming to know what the Chinese leadership is really thinking, just by reading Wechat group posts -and akso so called online experts reported by an obscure Indian source- really?
  2. The global economic context has drastically changed, in particular re. energy. Banning fracking would have significant negative consequences on the energy market. And she is part of a government which expanded fracking (under some conditions), so nothing new or specific to this election.. Same policy as ever since Obama started it.
  3. The BBC always did. BTW CNNcalso highlighted it.
  4. How do they look like Trump's policy statements?
  5. Nice to see you consider the BBC as an impartial observer! 😅 She's being pragmatic. The global economic context is different than it was when she said that. Isn't it a quality for a President to be pragmatic?
  6. Even the right-leaning RCP is now showing a Kamala win for the Electoral College. https://www.realclearpolling.com/maps/president/2024/no-toss-up/electoral-college
  7. Well, from MAGA fans' desperate reactions in this thread and in the other one, it must have been quite a good interview! 😃
  8. It seems you are not so aware of scientific analyses of both religions. Muhammad was strongly influenced by a Jewish-christian sect. One of the two gods in the Bible is El. It was a pagan god in the Cananean region.
  9. I'm going to be more direct than RayC: that's complete B.S.! 😁
  10. Who cares about what the Chinese Internet says about U.S. politics?
  11. Deflection! Fact is that, contrary to your claim, it was not the sabotage which stopped gas deliveries to Germany, as there were no deliveries at that time using Nord Stream 1 and 2.
  12. Yes it still imports some Russian gas indirectly as LNG gas. Estimated around 4-5% of its gas consumption (compared to 55% before the invasion) so not that much.
  13. You are right but it's not that simple. It's not only about tax revenues, but also what services are provided for it. France and Nordic countries have higher taxes, but also finance a significant re-distribution of revenues, I.e. free/cheap education, health, public transport portation, etc.. They don't just take the money.
  14. No, it cannot make treaties on anything really significant (i.e. not a trade deal), as it is a EU prerogative. It can only be symbolic, such as developing cooperation, blah blah... However, defense and security not being a EU prerogative, it can develop any relation it wants with UK on these matters, as France already does.
  15. It seems you are not informed about this subject. The Nord Stream 2 pipeline never entered service before the sabotage, and deliveries through Nord Stream 1 were already stopped at that time. Actually, the B pipeline of Nord Stream 2 could still be used, but Germany is banning direct gas imports from Russia. So it was not the cause of the huge price increase.
  16. Of course, he's lying, as usual! Tariffs are something simple enough for Trump and his fans to understand, that's why he's fond of this policy. Of course, he's not able to understand anything more complex, I.e. which would require reading technico-economic reports.
  17. I guess the 'non-rich' will get at least some crumbs from the tax cuts, but will also experience higher prices from tariffs.
  18. An we all know that (censored) Wechat groups in China are a highly reliable source of information about U.S. politics! 🤣
  19. I 'm not particularly defending Germany. It was a strategic mistake to depend so much on one source of energy, and in particular from Russia. They saw it coming. However, on the positive side, its debt ratio is still around half of other large European countries's ratio (incl. UK), and It's still rated AAA.
  20. Your pal Cameroni just explained why Germany failed. Fact is that by your own criteai of comparison, and by the data you picked up on a Brexiteer website, the UK was performing much better than Germany before the referendum than after the referendum. And at that time, there was no crisis in Germany. Again, picking up only one quarter is meaningless, I.e. last year, UK had been in recession during two quarters. There are always short-term fluctuations.
  21. Not my selective data. Data selected by the distinguished economists appointed by the house of Commons for "international comparisons", and covering several years. Data on only one quarter is meaningless. From the data you posted yourself, UK was performing much better than Germany before the referendum than after the referendum. And at that time, Germany was not the sick man of Europe because of the consequences of the Ukraine invasion.
  22. Economic decline? That's a ridiculous statement. The U.S. has overperformed the other advanced economies, by large. I guess you believe everything Trump claims! 😃 https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn02784/
  23. Good news for UK! However, it doesn't make sense to make an assessment based only on one quarter. https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn02784/ P.S I see your graph also confirms the excellent performance of the Biden economy
  24. u.org/news/2023_may_uk_growth_beats_no1_eu_state. You just confirmed how good the economy was when UK was part of the EU before the referendum. 😅 The other graph (from the same source) you did not upload, shows that UK barely did better than the sick man of Europe after the referendum: 5.9% against 5,4%. Most of the growth difference in your graph was achieved before the Brexit referendum.
  25. De facto is not De Jure. There is no document stating that Ukraine has no territory and the territory belong Russia. Russia is independent since 1991 and us not the Soviet Union. You (Putin) are making stuff up.
