You are illogical. The fact that some perceived conspiracy theories ultimately happened to be true is not an indicator that the ridiculous MAGA theories such as Pizzagate, Birther or the Big Lie are true.

Experts Say Another Thai Military Coup is Unlikely
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One of the few relevant comments in this thread. This article ignores the most important fact: The armed forces located in Bangkok are now under direct Royal command. The army chief or any other general have no power to order them to make a coup. -
Thai Department Warns Tourists Against Buying Fake Driving Licences

Buying a fake driving licence! What could go wrong? 😀 -
If they are true, they are not conspiracy theories any more. 😀 I was talking about real and absolutely ridiculous conspiracy theories, you know like, the Big Lie, Pizzagate, and a few other MAGA conspiracy theories.

Ok. Also not mock people who believe other ridiculous conspiracy theories, such as Clinton friends being eliminated, etc.... 😀

Ok. We should not mock people who believe ridiculous conspiracy theories, such as Pizzagate, Birther, or the Big Lie! 😀

I don't think there will be many MAGA nutters who will try to fight. They are like their master: big gob, but coward. -
The Republican Reckoning: A Post-Trump Civil War Looms if He Loses

Completely incoherent and direct from the MAGA alternate universe. 😞 -
Meanwhile... even the right leaning RCP is showing an electoral win for Kamala, albeit lower than the 2 other aggregators. .https://www.realclearpolling.com/maps/president/2024/no-toss-up/electoral-college https://www.racetothewh.com/president/polls#google_vignette https://www.270towin.com/maps/538-forecast-2024-presidential-election Of course, Trump can still catch up before the election! 😀

The Republican Reckoning: A Post-Trump Civil War Looms if He Loses

No no! It was just a peaceful protest by patriot heroes! 😀 -
Putin a "genius"! 😀 The current growth is fueled by military expenses, that's fact. Russia's GDP is low, given its large natural resources and its population. That's fact. Russia's GDP remained stagnant between 2012 and 2022. That's fact. Its population has-been decreasing, even before the war. That's fact. No one wants to be associated with Russia (except autocratic leaders).

Very funny! Russia's GDP is around the size of Italy's GDP (when the price if energy is high), and there was no GDP growth between 2012 and 2022. The Russian population has also been strongly declining. Putin is an incompetent leader obsessed by past glory rather than the development of his country. See how China, which started at a much lower development level, has outsmarted Russia. As the FT article you linked previously has shown, the current GDP growth is fuelled by military-related expenses: "The Russian finance ministry estimates that war-related fiscal stimulus in 2022-23 was equivalent to around 10 per cent of GDP. In that same period, war-related industrial output has risen 35 per cent while civilian production has remained flat, according to research published by the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies." https://www.ft.com/content/d304a182-997d-4dae-98a1-aa7c691526db

It confirms the decline of the Soviet Union, then Russia, governed by incompetent leaders (in particular Putin). These countries had historical relations with Russia, their culture has some common features with the Russian culture, and many people were able to speak Russian. Yet, their first concern was to get rid of any Russian influence (Russian influence usually meaning Russian domination). The failed Russian model is attractive to no one. Russia's importance in the world has been declining and it's an economic dwarf. That's the reality! Instead of a leader who is whining about it, they should have had governments aiming at developing the country (like China did).

Wasn't Mexico going to pay for it? 😀 -
Of course, you don't like uncontested facts proving you wromg: - There were no deliveries at the time of the sabotage: NS 1 deliveries were halted by Gasprom and NS 2 did not enter service. The sabotage did not stop anything. - NS2 B can still be used, so Germany could have resumed NS deliveries if it wanted. It did not want it. You may not have done it on purpose, but hiding the facts on which a post is based alters the significance of a post.

It does not really matter how one may call it, war economy or not. According to sources in the article you linked (incl. Russian source), Russia's growth has been fuelled by military expenses. Too bad you truncated my post and leave out the most relevant part: "The Russian finance ministry estimates that war-related fiscal stimulus in 2022-23 was equivalent to around 10 per cent of GDP. In that same period, war-related industrial output has risen 35 per cent while civilian production has remained flat, according to research published by the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies"
