Its clear from many of your comments that you have no idea whats possible and what isn't.... you keep contradicting yourself. All of the assumptions you are making are based on the 'theory' that one of the engines remained operational. You will not accept the possibility that both engines had failed, it was this failure that led to no flaps, no slats, no landing gear, electrical failure (as indicated by no landing lights - possibly), high landing at speed, ground effect, a late touchdown.... This...

Modern techniques have conclusively proven that polio and smallpox are caused by viruses through: Direct visualisation (electron microscopy), Isolation and cultivation, Genetic and molecular analysis, Vaccine development and immune response studies. These methods not only identified the viral nature but also facilitated the development of vaccines and eradication campaigns for these diseases and include... Isolation of the Viruses Polio: In the 1900s, scientists succeeded in isolating the poliovirus from patients' spinal cord tissues and demonstrating that it could cause disease in animal models, such as monkeys. Smallpox: The smallpox virus (variola virus) was isolated from skin lesions and shown to reproduce only in host cells, a key characteristic of viruses. Electron Microscopy Electron microscopy, introduced in the mid-20th century, provided direct visual evidence of the viruses. Poliovirus: Appeared as small, spherical particles (approximately 27-30 nanometers). Smallpox virus: A larger virus with a brick-like structure (about 200-300 nanometers). This imaging confirmed that these pathogens were far smaller than bacteria, fitting the definition of viruses. Koch’s Postulates and Modified Criteria for Viruses Polio: The virus was isolated, cultured in non-cellular environments (e.g., HeLa cells), and proven to reproduce in these cells, fulfilling criteria similar to Koch’s postulates for causation. Smallpox: Infection was consistently reproduced in cell culture and suitable animal models, further confirming its viral cause. Nucleic Acid Analysis Polio: Poliovirus was identified as an RNA virus (a member of the Picornaviridae family) through the discovery of its genetic material and replication mechanisms. Smallpox: Variola virus was identified as a DNA virus (a member of the Poxviridae family), with genome sequencing in the 1990s revealing its full genetic code. Vaccination and Immune Response Polio: The development of inactivated (Salk) and live-attenuated (Sabin) vaccines provided indirect evidence of viral causation. These vaccines successfully stimulated immune responses against poliovirus, leading to disease prevention. Smallpox: The smallpox vaccine, derived from the related cowpox virus, worked because of immune cross-reactivity, confirming the viral origin. Molecular Techniques Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): Used to detect viral RNA (polio) and DNA (smallpox) directly from patient samples, even at low levels. CRISPR and Gene Editing: Modern gene-editing tools have been used to study the exact genes of these viruses responsible for pathogenicity. Historical Epidemiology and Genetic Studies Smallpox: The eradication of smallpox through vaccination further validated its viral cause, as eliminating the variola virus stopped all cases of the disease. Polio: Ongoing genetic surveillance of poliovirus during eradication campaigns provides evidence linking the virus to outbreaks. The issue I have with all of this discussion is now I am marginally less intelligent for even entertaining a response, let alone actually feeding your silliness. But, I'll still play: If you are bitten by a dog - will you get a Rabies vaccination ? If you cut yourself badly on a rusty nail - will you get a Tetanus vaccination ?

For some modes of transport you are possibly correct but I have never been onboard an internal flight or train ride where I didn't pay first Have you ever been in a Taxi, TukTuk or LongTail boat where you paid first ??? That said, paying first removes any 'pricing ambiguity' - the issue of course is often a lack of clarity and deliberate misinformation to attempt to get more money (as with the examples in my comment above). The reality is most Taxi drivers are reasonably fare - but in area's of higher tourist footfall the potential scam attempts increases significantly.
-
Stopping the boat halfway though the journey is clearly extortion. Charging 400 baht per passenger is clearly a rip-off. Money is either paid when boarding or when alighting - it can't be any simpler than that. IF the boat pilot has encountered passengers fleeing in the past, the simple solution is to charge on boarding - and charge the agreed 'normal fare'. OF course - there is always a back story: Whenever transport is involved in Thailand there is always a potential scam. Its happened so many times: i.e. - Bus station to boat Pier: 200 baht.... at arrival the driver demands 200 baht each... - Or, they take you to a different (closed pier), and then claim a misunderstanding and ask for more to take to the correct pier. - Or, they take you half way, and then get you to change vehicles, then the new driver wants payment (and the other driver has already left). .... All these scams used to be common and it doesn't surprise me one bit that similar scams exist with longtail boats.

Polio (poliomyelitis) is caused by a virus known as the poliovirus which is a member of the Picornaviridae family and belongs to the genus Enterovirus. Smallpox is caused by a virus called the variola virus, which belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus within the Poxviridae family. Before they were controlled by vaccines, these diseases were highly transmissible. This is why I don't want to bother arguing with you - You don't even have the basics right.

All information you are providing is flawed unless used in a direct like for like comparison with other motorcycles. The List below was randomly generated with a chat GPT prompt to list normal and max noise range of a random selection of motorcycles including the CRF300 and CB450. Ironically, the motorcycle you quote (CB450)is the loudest on that list !!!..., highlighting you know nothing of this subject. Your comments also have very little relevance - there is no reason for this motorcycle ridden by the American not to be on the road - Its not unroadworthy, its no noisier than any other motorcycle. Your musings are unknowledgeable and bias - you have now gone down the rabbit-hole of doubling down yet are repeatedly proven not to know the subject matter. Note - information from other sources may vary but the list is a good general reference (sources listed right hand column).

Realistically, our opinions are too divergent. Your comments imply you don't believe in vaccines - nature alone would not have protected you from Polo to Smallpox, Measles. Rubella (German Measles). Mumps, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Tetanus, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). Yellow Fever etc etc etc.. There is so much scientific evidence proving the efficacy and necessity of vaccines, if you are refusing to accept medically and scientifically proven facts then there is no more point in entering the debate with you than there is with a flat earther or a moon landing denier. If it is only the Covid-19 vaccines which you question, primarily because of the speed with which they were produced, then your argument might have little more credibility - however, the arguments presented in the list of questions you provide can readily be countered - any debate is still too much like arguing with someone impossibly ignorant of proven facts.

Russian Tourist Stabbed After Joke Misunderstood in Pattaya

Why is he a coward ? -
It does not surprise me in the least that you are unable to comprehend the nuanced flaws in the term 'killed' when used in this context. Along with your bigoted sweeping generalisations, misuse of media commentary as fact, an inability to present any balanced perspective, your comments also betray your fundamentally flawed education.

I know.. however, the Thai limit is 95 dB. The Honda CRF is a road legal bike than can also be used off-road. You've missed the whole point of such bikes - they are designed specifically to be ridden on the road legally to and from 'non-road', green-lanes, forest trails etc.... off the beaten path. Thats just your unhinged bias... like a grumpy old man complaining - show critical thought in this matter. Please try and explain how these machines are any more disturbing than any other motorcycle. Noise isn't a factor, I've already established that the bike operates within legal limits and is not significantly louder than many other vehicles on the road - certainly not louder than Trimphs, Ducati's and Harleys. In fact - I'd never heard that noise was an issue with bikes such as the CRF until you mentioned it. Have you have become confused with the noisy two-stroke 'scramblers / dirt-bikes' of the past and modern four-stroke machines ?

Yep... I can see all of that happening... The Police follow a path of least resistance and their only interest is to make a bit of money unless otherwise instructed, pushed or its seems too much effort. There are also cultural factors at play: The Thai Police will often arbitrate in favour of the poorer party.. i.e. if a car is involved in a motorcycle collision, the police are likely to initially (and automatically) err in favour of the motorcyclist as the car likely has insurance, the motorcycle likely won't - If a foreigner is driving the car, he will see this as unfair and often misinterpret that he is being blamed because he is a foreigner. The same happens to a lesser extent with motorcycles, however the 'foreigner' being seen as they weather party will be asked to pay, not because they are a foreigner, but becase the 'path of least resistance' suggest its easier for them to pay. In any of these situations, when polite resistance is show, the Police can and often will change their minds and resort to the actual laws rather than a social norm. This 'informal arbitration' manner of doing things here is often applied more so in areas away from major cities etc... Many foreigners here will not understand this approach and instead think they are victims, which is often not the case and they have simply been treated exactly as a Thai who displays similar financial optics would be treated.

I think it was to highlight the 'face' and hypocritical sanctimony on display when officials want to ensure that the laws are being followed perfectly and RR has not chopped any tree's down on his property, also that it took so many officials in a 'raid like situation' to establish this... ... meanwhile local rogues, hard up on cash are felling tree's illegally and the local authorities very likely know exactly who is doing this.
-
To be fair - your friend could have interpreted the situation accurately. Its also noted that 'some' foreigners have encountered situations where they are targeted for blame in an accident simply because they are a foreigner. However, its often the case that the foreigner doesn't understand the situation and cultural norms. Regardless, there are enough first hand experiences (my own too) that highlight the idea that the foreigner will always be blamed is a fallacy.

The Honda CRF produces 85 to 95 decibels (dB) under normal operation - thats perfectly normal. By comparison, the Honda Click produces 70 to 90 decibels (dB). The CRF is a normal bike, perfectly legal for road use. These motorcycles cause no more disturbances to communities than any other motorcycles - its actually the little hoons racing skinny wheeled modified pocket rockets that cause the disturbances. And no, your 'sweeping generalisation' that they are often driven too fast is just silly... How many Honda CRF's have you actually ever seen on the roads ?? Go ahead... Why a Honda CRF should not be allowed on the roads, more than any other bikes such as Suzuki Hyabusa, BMW GS1300, Vespa GTS, Honda ADV150, etc etc... - It would add an interesting facet to the discussion. Only one thing I can think of is 'tyres' as off-road tyres (that are road legal) have less road grip - which is one reason these bikes cannot be ridden quickly on the road.

Though poor communication a lot of people will draw incorrect conclusions from an interaction. It might be that the moto-rider was simply trying it on and your friend put two and two together and made five - its certainly not enough to establish a generalised consensus that the 'farang' is always at fault - its been proven time and time again that this is false commentary.
