  1. And they don’t want us for all the money in the world. That is your problem I think, because you spend money in the Thai economy you think “they” owe you something and over estimate your importance. Nope... thats your projection.. just making shyte up...
  2. Us.... as in.... ??? ... Us Australians ... Us British ... Us Canadians Or did you just mean 'Us Bigots' ????
  3. The Spanish are protesting about the amount of tourists and how so many tourists are having a detrimental effect on their daily lives . They aren't protesting against British tourists , they are protesting against tourists (from all Countries) Thats true... but I thin its also fair to suggest that the protests are also trigged to some extend by the behavior of tourists in those areas. IF the area's were just busy, but all tourists behaved so respectfully and politely, I suspect the anti-foreign sentiment in these areas may not exist to such an extent to lead to protests. As well as the Balearic islands, the same occurred in the Canaries and other major tourist area's of Spain and in the cities such as Barcelona and Malaga.
  4. Take a look at their offers and also 'sign up' as you'll get discounts. I just noticed they are charging for the boat - but in the past that and parking has been waved by whatever offer was on at the time. https://www.saikaewbeachresort.com/offers/? Premier Rooms are by far the best option to go for - but they are now a fair bit pricer that I recall in the past. The Deluxe Premier Rooms are exellent, but again, more expensive still, but come included with free speed boat transfer (instead of the slower boat).... ... though I prefer the slower boat as its a more relaxed way of arriving as the water can get choppy. Also note: You'll get stung for the 'National Park Tax' which I think is 200 baht for foreigners (40 baht for Thai's). Keep the ticket on you, as I have seen tourists arguing with the corrupt park officials that they don't have a ticket and make them buy a new one (never happened to me though).
  5. Indeed.... Particularly post Brexit, there is a very anti-British sentiment growing in Spain. I can't say I blame the Spanish at these areas though... the type of character who travels to Benidorm and Mallorca and the like for a holiday is not the sort of person I want to be associated with (thats my bigotry). The drunken behavior is well documented - but, there is also an element of 'biting the hand that feeds you'.... These area's have profited massively from British Tourists, locals have got very rich... cheap holidays, cheap booze, cheap buffets etc... absolute hell, but thats what the Spanish have attracted. The same could be said of area's of Pattaya that attract the drunk sex-pests.... we have the 'occasional netizen outrage' when some women wears a G-string near a temple, but other than that.... the Thai's are exceptionally tolerant because they are well aware of the need for tourism income, even in area's such as central Pattaya where high tourist footfall and over familiarity with less than wholesome attitudes lends to a certain degree of contempt amongst the locals (in those specific areas).
  6. One thing to add... IF you chose to go with the a hotel within the Samet Resorts group, all you need to do is drive to the Ao Prao Pier (which is specific for the Samet Resorts Group) and drop your bags off, then park your car there (at the pier)... The staff will do all the rest, the (slow 30min) boat is inclusive, as is Song Taew transport on the island side, bags will be taken straight to your hotel you've no need to deal with the hassle of dragging them on and off boats etc... Hotels in the Samet Resorts group https://www.samedresorts.com/ Map Link to Ao Prao Pier https://maps.app.goo.gl/kddAuEHd7zwq7Y9d8
  7. I'm less bigoted with my attitudes... the nationality and gender is irrelevant when someone undeserving is getting bulled by another.... So, I don't choose to see what I want an ignore other aspects with bias an bigotry, I just see things for the way they are, whether thats a popular opinion or not. From your statement it seems you'll quite happily accept a Thai attacking a woman, but if t was a foreigner then you'd get upset.... I agree with you, you should be ashamed.
  8. You'll fit right in... driving drunk...
  9. Sai Keaw Beach Resort - is one of the nicer resorts on the Island - but it's in the busier area of Sai Keaw beach. On the opposite side (West), Ao Prao - its much quieter and there are a couple of quiet nice resorts there such as Ao Prao Resort. Further down is a far higher end resort, Paradee - its expensive but very nice (apparently) Ao Wong Duean beach used to be nice with nice beach front Bungalows at Samet Cabana resort, the last time I visited that beach last year, it was a shyite hole. Anywhere near SilverSands is very loud at night. On the North is Baan Ploy Sea... its also quieter there, but also out of the way for restaurants. The last 4-5 times we've visited Koh Samet - we've stayed at Sai Keaw Beach Resort - basically because it does what it does quite well, while a lot of the rest of the island is a bit of a pit. My second choice would be Ao Prao resort and hire a motorcycle to get about to the other side for dinner options (though Ao Prao has a couple of resorts so food options are available there).
  10. Perhaps a British colloquialism... As pissed as a newt As pissed as a parrot As pissed as a fart As pissed as a rat
  11. The British Man attacked the Thai women now ????.... I'm wondering what BS you'll make up next.... There is no video, no evidence of the Brit attacking the Thai women - there is video of them throwing water on him... and him [the Brit] using bad language....
  12. more bigoted nonsense and whataboutism There is a certain degree of irony in you using the word 'Bigot'... ... especially when it was you yourself who pointed out that this guy was lucky he wasn't in Soi 6 (Pattaya) as the Brians Security boys (Thai Security) there would have given him a filling in..... ... Yep... Trigger ego's who'll snap very easily....
  13. Which serves as a very good reason to 'keep your mouth shut' while out in public. Many who find themselves in trouble in Thailand often do so because they fail to control their mouth and argue with the wrong people in the wrong area. They're naively ignorant of how readily a situation can escalate to a boiling point in just a split second.
  14. They don't trust you enough to speak openly.... And course, you wouldn't understand them anyway unless you speak Thai well. In social situations, in conversations etc, the language used by Thai's is just as colourful as that used by Brits... Obviously, less so in verbal conflict as Thai's have that 'trigger tendency to go from zero to enraged' in a split second'... but when they do... yep, you'll hear that colourful language.... One of the points I have made often - the Thai's use of expletives is no lesser than that of other nations such as the Brits and Aussies etc... its just that most foreigners will not understand.
  15. No, you said you were a Brit with this new username....... He's trying to be a wise-ar$e disowning his previously 'claimed' British nationality... due a recent spate of negative articles about Brits poor behavior.... ... At some point we'll see a few articles about Canadians drug smuggling or doing something negative and he'll switch allegiance to Moroccan perhaps...
  16. With one eye closed of course, 'cos you couldn't see clearly while pished up, driving, reading the forum on your phone....
  17. Yelling at Thais to F Off in the street was probably worse than the smoking to be honest. It is somehow acceptable back home, but really offensive to Thais. Agreed.... offensive to anyone around.... And.. If you can understand Thai, you'll also identify how colourful their language very often is.
  18. They threw some water. i have told you a million times before not to exaggerate. Yawn - you're too much of a tool to be amusing...
  19. Such familiarity with the forum for someone who only signed up a few months ago.... Long time lurker eh ??.... clearly a troll of different user names over the years...
  20. His colourful language and accent gave away his nationality with little room for doubt.
  21. But NOT a danger to the gas bottles. 100% not a danger to the Gas Bottles.... that part of the article was an attempt to shine the Thai women in a 'favourable light'.... However, the video shows they behaved as poorly as the British guy.... perhaps even worse. I've not seen anything other than the headline of the article that shows any damage to the stall... and if there was any damage it was done by the women trying grab buckets and water to throw at the Brit....
  22. This I agree with... idiots around on a daily basis, particularly in areas of high footfall and booze... .... its your bigotry and generalisation thats flawed... Brits arguing, Thais shooting, Swiss kicking... Terrible behavior is all around us and its not confined to one nationality...
  23. It may not have been illegal.... but smoking in that area is certainly antisocial and outs the Brit as a self-centred pr!ck... I think that much is already a given.
  24. I suspected he was someone else but YINN ???? 555. Proof?
  25. When I read the headline I cringed thinking “he is probably going to be a Brit”. I think probably most of us did. Thats because you're a judgmental, biased bigot - so deeply entrenched in your own prejudice that you assume the rest of the world must be equally narrow-minded. It's just a small, bitter handful of Brit-bashers like yourself who perpetuate this tiresome narrative. Most others, fortunately, possess the intelligence to recognise that such behavior isn't indicative of all Brits. However, I’ll grant you this: there are indeed plenty of fools in Thailand who conduct themselves disgracefully, and yes, some of them happen to be British.
