  1. Learn English - Bigotry already implies a strong degree of bias and prejudice... Educate yourself, you'll make yourself look less of a clown....
  2. In contrast I feel sorry for people like you - education systems have clearly let you down and you lack the nouse to overcome your flawed knee-jerk impressions and double down with the dumb bigotry you have presented in this thread. Using the stats presented by MalcomB earlier, Out of 432,000 visitors... 431,806 were not arrested... are you still going to stick to your sweeping bigoted generalisations ? Anyone with any intelligence would recognise that 'trouble makers' are minute minority - and I'll agree with you that the British Trouble makers are abhorrent characters, but I will not see flawed generalisations thrown and any nationality, race or gender without solid facts - and you do not have solid facts.
  3. OK present facts that the British are 'trouble makers'... Fact: - 0.004% of British Visitors are arrested in Thailand each year. Fact - That is not a majority. Fact - You are anti-British and a bigot.
  4. You are a bigot - you have posted sweeping generalisation about a nation - sorry you dont like that, but if the cap fits... And... If you think 'you' are at a lower level than I, I can't help with that, you'll have to reflect on why you think that is. Erm... ok bigot - if you say so. No, you've delivered bigotry and made up your own statistic and now made up your own statement and have pedalled it as fact.. Thai's are now getting more and more negative towards foreigners ???? - if you've experienced that, then its on you. I've not experienced that at all... ... perhaps you are making up more rubbish to try and make your point, just like making up your own statistics.
  5. Professionally ?? - I don't get paid for my contribution here - I'll make no apology for responding in a manner you struggle to content with Gottfrid... As you should be, I and I am quick to condemn anyone who behaves so poorly in public that they attract the attention of authorities or make the news, regardless of nationality. I am equally as quick to condemn bigotry - yours included. That is incorrect and as fabricated as the stat made up earlier. And... no, I'm not 'rescuing the British Poplation' at all - thats not needed... But I am calling out the bigotry in comments made by posters such as yourself... Pathetic is your inability to recognise this... clownery is the manner in which you shoe-horned yourself into this debate and reignited your own fire of bigotry... .... too stupid to even recognise when you are posting bigoted generalisations.
  6. Theoretically yes... But I imagine some psychology also comes into it on the part of the Immigration officers. A friend was recently travelling with her son (11 years old) - she has not officially changed her name, although legally married. Immigration officers asked the Son a couple of questions... (is this your mother etc), they were easily satisfied by the answers.
  7. Its not though is it ? (rhetorical)....... because the Op has implied that he is travelling with out the mother, and thus immigration have been known to ask questions of 'single parents' travelling with a child.
  8. Firstly, I'll start with an assumption... It is just you and your Daughter travelling (without mother). 1) The Passport question, if it even is a question, its is a no brainer: - Show the Aus Passport on Check-in at the Airline as they'll want to know visa status (no need for a visa obviously). - Exit Thailand on the Thai passport (and get an exit stamp) - Enter Aus on Aus Passport (this is a called an Air-swap and very common). On to what I suspect the actual question of the Op is - 2) Documentation to prove you have parental permission to travel out of Thailand with your daughter (without the mother). - Officially, you will need an Affirmation of Parental Consent, a letter signed by and official from your local Amphur office - Realistically, the letter on its own 'should' be fine, signed by your Wife (with a singed copy of wife's passport). - Have your wife standing by ready to receive a call from immigration just in case. -------- Examples: - I have travelled out of the country twice with my Son (without my Wife / his mum), I had a consent letter just incase, I was not asked for it (my son was 3 on one occasion, 4 on another). - I have friends who were travelling with their child and immigration questioned them, they had no consent letter but a quick call to the mother sorted things out. - I do not know of anyone rejected (but that does not mean its not a possibility - so if you want to be sure, get the parental consent letter signed).
  9. 'Bouncer' ???? not that they've ever been known to gang-up on a beat up punters !!! Droll comment aside - I'm guessing 'technician' might be sound engineer or something like that... ensuring all the music systems in a club were fully functional etc..
  10. Agreed... which was completely unforeseen by the pick-up driver... As mentioned, so many drivers here seem completely unable to predict and anticipate the movement of others. When my Wife is driving and I suggest, careful, the car is about to change lanes - she thinks I'm mad, she seems not to pick-up on the little movements and lane positioning the other vehicle exhibits that belies their intention. She was riding to a meeting spot to catch mini-van for the remainder of the journey. Its extremely sad that someone showing such effort and dedication was lost in such an avoidable manner.
  11. Mayors office has already responded to huge online complaints.... In another example out outstanding stupidity and a disconnect from sensible reality - the authorities have agreed to take down 'half of the cycling lane' !!! Astonishingly, they fail to understand that just one fixed cone blocking one of the lanes is sufficient to cause gridlock across the area. The additional measure of complete idiocy is that this combines with the first day or road works at major intersections not far away (Petchaburi flyover near Asoke which is closed from today).
  12. Fair point - but the Options to presented were loaded - you failed to give the option. - I drink and remain within the DUI limit.... and failing to do so loaded the result to suit your DUI ideology that its ok to drive when drunk on 10 beers (just so long as you are careful of course !!)... Your use of the results to suggest that DUI is in any form acceptable is as stupid as your bigotry. What would I apologise for ??.. you ??? another Brit drink driving, another Brit making dumb generalisations ? Just as I don't need to apologise for idiotic Brits who get themselves into trouble, I don't need to apologise for you.... ... and while the 'horse' may look high from your perspective, its at ground level for people who are not DUI promoting bigots.
  13. I think it was closer to that magical 75% figure actually. Nowhere near... and thats the one of the issues you have - you are clearly incapable of intelligent thought and resort to making up rubbish to justify your bigotry.... In just the same way >50% of people voting that they have drunk driven does not make DUI right... ...made up stats that 75% of 'bad' incidents involve Brits also doesn't make it correct. Your critical thought processes are completely broken or never existed.
  14. Tarnish the whole nationality. Back on topic of the thread. It is about a Brit behaving terribly. You have managed to bring up Aussies in Bali, Americans, French, Thais, Patong, polls, Swiss, drink drivers, mongers in one of your best pieces of whataboutism yet. Its probably not your fault that you don't understand the context or the relevance of those comments....
  15. I never realised this 'could be a debate' - I thought it was quite clear.... (no pun intended). Tap water in Thailand is not recognised as being safe for direct consumption. The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority in Bangkok treats water and meets World Health Organization (WHO) standards, but, the aging and potentially compromised distribution infrastructure can lead to contamination before it reaches consumers.... hence, the water is not considered safe - I always figured this was widely known. ... and outside of Bangkok the quality varies even more and may contain bacteria and pollutants.
  16. Really... Which sort ? I've used Air-Tags which are a lot more expensive and only work when close to a device on Apples Ecosystem - its similar for Samsungs Smart Tag These GPS tags you mention, are they active or passive ?. They reply on a 'Bluetooth network' ?? (within a manufacturer eco-system) Or, like Tile, connect 'through' only those devices running the specific App. A link would be useful - I'll get some.
  17. Today I witnesses a staggering display of poor judgment, authorities have implemented a plan announced just last week to introduce cycle lanes on Bangkok’s roads - an idea that already raised eyebrows and has now created complete traffic chaos. The chosen site for this trial of "urban innovation" is Prom-Chit Alley, a two-lane sub-soi connecting Sukhumvit 39 and Sukhumvit 33, home to popular establishments like L’Opera restaurant and Cocotte. What was once a functional dual-lane road has now been reduced to a single lane, with the other coned off to create a dedicated cycle lane. How are cyclists expected to even reach this lane? no one knows. Today, the fallout was clearly visible with disruption turning horrific gridlock that spilled over onto Petchaburi and Sukhumvit roads leaving drivers stuck for hours. Ironically, and somewhat predictably, the cycle lane itself already has become a haven not for cyclists; there are none, but for food carts and motorcycles, which now already occupy the space. This ill-conceived scheme is nothing short of a masterclass in incompetence, transforming an already congested area into a traffic nightmare. I'm astonished at the stupidity and complete lack of awareness of the impact this was going to cause to wider traffic patterns of an already heavily congested area. The original announcement last week: https://aseannow.com/topic/1343308-bangkok-plans-cycling-lanes-to-ease-congestion-in-key-districts/page/3/ FM91 Trafficpro's post (on Facebook - in Thai) https://www.facebook.com/share/kYkuwfFTpd3wJMa4/?mibextid=WC7FNe
  18. Ouch... looks like you are going shopping...
  19. Swiss were flavour of the month for a brief period last year where any negative activity by them was made public - this was an example of the contagion effect... a couple of events draw attention and focus.
  20. They do if he's British or Australian !!!... so he must be neither !! ... And if he were British we would have already had posts from 'certain posters' spewing out their bigoted bile.
  21. Combined with no efforts towards maintenance and safety.
  22. Even an Air-tag (or similar)...dedicated theft insurance is also relatively cheap... but, this was probably a minimum wagers and 1000 baht theft insurance or a tag is a lot of money for them. Theft such as this must be devastating.
  23. I make no apology for being able to write... but the language I uses is not highly educated nor academic, its simply the result of having gone to school !!!... a lot of others are also able to string a sentence together ! IF you see bigotry and negative-bias elsewhere... for example when some posters states 'all Thai women are ho's'... (its happend)... do you not also speak out in disagreement ???.... ... this is the same... Its just so happens that you are on a different side of the bigotry this time.
  24. Just MalcomB - of course if you want to align yourself with such bigotry - go ahead and take that leap into the well of mediocrity. Thats flawed thinking - the Poll I mentioned provided a the perfect example of the flawed mindset MalcomB operatates in - he seems to think that because >50% of people admitted to DUI its ok - its not. Its shows the logical fallacy he operates under. Correct - When you and MalcomB tarnish a whole nationality based on an extreme minority your bias should be brought into question... Apologies for being able to formulate a sentence... Is that really your objection, that I know how to write ??? Finally - I have not disagreed, nor am I in disagreement that there are a number of British Idiots who travel and cause problems... BUT, I am in disagreement with your biased generalisations and home-made statistics and a clear display of negative-bias that prevents you from viewing the matter with balance, for, if a healthy balance existed we would not see the same posters selectively focusing against Brits in the threads in which a Brit has drawn negative attention. I would argue the same against bigots who draw similar opinions against Australians or other nationalities in threads where negative bias has been displayed against them (when seriously stated and not in jest).
