Not quite correct Sid..... Professionals are playing far more than 3x per week... they are playing a lot while they are training. Not quite the same as a competitive league match etc - but its still very physical and it adds up to a lot of kms covered on a football pitch. Up until Covid I was playing 3x per week.... usually 6 or 7 aside 3x teams rotating (so not a full pitch 90 mins... 2x 10 min games and then a 10min rest.... so realistically 80mins football over two hours.... (I'd cover anywhere from 7-9 km in a game although I don't think the distance measurement is all that accurate from the watch).... Games are also 'somewhat' controlled so people don't hurt each other, we still have to work - although there is the odd d-head about lunging in when they shouldn't. I've had two major injuries in the past 12 months, one football related, the last one not and was rather catastrophic, I hope to be able to play again, but thats not something I'm sure of until perhaps the latter quarter of this year. Age also significantly impacts the speed of recovery......

Awesome... another one liner with explains absolutely nothing... other than a very small minority of old people are still physically capable of running a Marathon... I'll ask you Dolf.... Can you run a Marathon ? The second lady on that list has averaged 2.26 mph.... 3.62 kmh - The average adults walking speed is 5.1 kmh So while I admire anyone doing a Marathon especially at that age - for the most part those speeds are slower than average person 'walks'.... Their age has most certainly slowed them down and while you can drop your standard oversimplified one liner... you haven't actually made any valid point at all... ... in fact you have contradicted yourself... Age has slowed these people down significantly.

Age matters significantly..... I can't play a full 90 mins of full on football anymore 3x per week anymore... I break a lot more easily than I used to and am having to significantly change my outgoing attitude towards physical sports.... (two operations from sporting Injures in the past 12 months !!!). But.... as this thread seems to be referring to 'carnal prowess and attraction'.... Age most definitely matters... I used to get a lot more 'eyes' here in my 20's and 30's than I now do in my late 40's.... the change was clearly notable... ... Its as obvious as day, younger women prefer younger men, and those who are with men who much older are so primarily for security.... ... If you are over 45 yrs old and stand next to a 20 or 30 something normal looking guy and to a female of financial independence you will be invisible, no matter your 'attitude'....

Nope... I haven't attacked you personally, I've attacked the inanity of your content and the bigotry of Thai-bashing that comes with it when singling out Thai behavior and levying criticism at Thai's for something that happens all over the world. So... you may feel butt-hurt at the criticism, consider it unfair and take it personally, but you feel its ok to slander whole nation when you imply that the same behaviour you are criticising is something that does not occur elsewhere. You don't like being criticised for your unfair criticism of others... Some would call that hypocrisy...
-
You've already made it a Thai bash after levying the criticism of something that occurs here while ignoring the fact that it also occurs everywhere else !!... As below... you need to remove that 'chip' off your shoulder and view things with an open mind.... While Thailand has many pro's and con's... positives and negatives, contrary to your criticism and negative bias this is not something specific to Thailand.

What to do with old school books?
richard_smith237 replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Primary & Secondary Education
I'd assume the solution is somewhat obvious and donate them to a temple school.... That said, what language are the text books in ???? -
Nope... I'm not whining like a bored old boomer about something utterly inane... however, I am highlighting the inanity of your complaint... It is astonishing what people find to complain about here... What's the next complain?.... that they re-stock Sprinkle water faster than the incontinence pants ? I think this comment (below), highlights the point quite well....

I'm guessing you'll need a plastic surgeon more than a dermatologist... But perhaps consult with both. This perhaps gets the ball rolling for you. https://www.bangkokhospital-chiangmai.com/en/expert-doctors/?doctor_name=&all_specialty=¢er=23503&gender=&language=

Hardly a rant. Just someone who likes to shop without negotiating an obstacle course But you made the rant as if this is a 'Thai only' think and have implied that stocking the shelves exists because Thai's are incapable of organising themselves to stock the shelves at intervals when there are no customers. As SAFETY FIRST mentioned, as rants go, its up there with one of the best, or rather one of the most pathetic, particularly when considering that supermarkets in our home nations also continue to keep the shelves 'topped up' the shelves during the day time, although the majority of 'shelf stacking' occurs at nights, as it likely does in Thai supermarkets too. Can't wait for the next rant... its surely going to be gripping stuff.

'They'.... you mean the same labourers and shoddy management accountable for the cheap road building poor safety standards in the general construction industry are also going to build a nuclear power station ???.... you mean 'that they' ?????.... ... Or are you just slurring all Thai's with the same brush ?? I'd hope the accountability for anything involving the nuclear power, also high-speed rail etc... is significantly greater for those involved such that its simple not worth their while to allow any short cuts or management oversight... *i.e. the management involved are professionals and not the usual corrupt corner cutting profiteers.

Au contraire.... Toilet paper is what they provide you with to fall apart and stick to your hands instead of drying them. BUT... IMO - the whole subject is wrong - this is not toilet paper - this is a roll of tissue paper that is also commonly used in toilets. It never ceases to amaze me how the 'loo discussion' paper, bum-gun discussion etc generates more interest than a Bob Smith tolling thread.

I don't think it matters what the age, era, genre etc... Talent is talent... Some of you won't get it, but the production of a 'sound' is as important as the music itself, whether its digital a DJ or just a vocalist with a guitar.... Whether its the latest Benson Boone, Bruno Mars, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Anjuna, Aretha, Aerosmith or Elvis... then on top of that there's the showmanship and production of live shows. Even if you don't like Rap... the brilliance of Eminem has to be recognised...

Yup... thats pretty much the case.... Although my friend is quite detailed, so he was surprised at this and commented that it was not so clear. It was a surprise to me too..... I have seen policies that cover treatment upon return (and will look out for such policies myself in future).

Adequate Health Insurance for a stay in Intensive Care
richard_smith237 replied to John Phuket's topic in Health and Medicine
There area number of them. - April Insurance (Thailand) - pops up a lot on this forum (they rejected a claim I made though, so I'll not use them again). - Luma (Wife and Son are with them - Premium about US$3000 for both) - seems OK - Inpatient cover only & no medication (up to US$3 Million per year)... There are plenty of options in the same ball park for solid cover, but as the age increases so do the premiums as does the probability of a local insurer just cutting you off at xx age (i..e 65 or 70 etc). Best option is to contact a broker - i.e. pacific prime -
One major issue / clause with travel insurance is... Will they continue to pay for treatment / an ailment once back in your country of residence. I know someone who was just injured - their travel insurance covered their medical costs while over-seas. They also needed an operation (torn ligament) and opted to have that back in Bangkok. If they'd have had the operation while overseas their insurance would have paid for it (with pre-authorisation), or paid for their return home (earlier). Upon return to Bangkok, the travel insurance would not cover the cost of the operation - as they said the person was back in his country of residence and his local insurance must pick up the tab. I was of the impression that the travel insurance would cover the continued cost of treatment from an injury occurred while overseas (during the period of cover). So... Advice: Ensure exactly what is and isn't covered as insurance companies are notoriously tricky about what information they give up. I read my friends policy and there is no clear mention that continued cover is stopped once the injured party is repatriated.
