How to buy better fitting clothes/shirts here in Thailand or generally as a man?
Go slim fit… or… as you mentioned, tailored <deleted>s are inexpensive here… … but really, aren’t there any malls near you ? Thailands kind of the slim fit capital of the world !!!……

How-To Handle Machiavellian Land-’Lady’...Handling Her? REPUGNANT Thought!!
I’d start a thread about it then reply to my own inane nonsense…. (apologies, I keep making the mistake of opening your threads without first checking who the author is)…. ????

Thai defense mechanism
Well said Why ?… The Op encountered an issue which was handled in a manner some (many) of us may find somewhat stereotypical of those who lack professionalism and you agree with the ‘it never happened to me mate, must be you’ response… … not “well said” at all…. quite the opposite and rather myopic if we’re are to reflect on many examples of the ‘withdraw into the shell’ manner avoidance of responsibility & accountability we often encounter here in Thailand & as described by the Op. … that’s not to suggest Thailand is bad, Thai people are bad or any of the hyperbole some may wish to throw out there in some form of distorted defence… but things go wrong & the response here is often wholly juvenile.

Thai defense mechanism
Quoted are some rather ‘fruitcake’ examples of people blaming someone who’s only error is to air their encounter… The ops encounter is extremely relatable and is readily understood by anyone with any exposure to the ‘way things work’ here.

Buying motorbike for child
Of course, why not... in fields etc... at 8 years old my son was going 80kmh down a mountain side, thats not much different from a dirt bike in a field.... But... in Traffic is a very very different matter.... having natural full control of motorcycle is only part of the equation when riding on the road...
-
Buying motorbike for child
Did you teach your 9 year old to ride a motorcycle on Thailands roads ??? Your pussification argument avoids any common sense or sense of responsible parenting.... As someone who both drives and rides here in Thailand, allowing my son on the back of my motorcycle is a hard no, let alone being given permission to ride when he is of age. It's a simple decision from a life expectancy perspective....

What do you look for in a hotel?
Depends on: - Location - Climate - Purpose - With whom (family or alone) - Cost vs quality (value) - Transport option (if driving etc) The decision always involves multiple factors. I look for a different type of hotel if beaching it up with the family (nice room, large size, pool etc) than if partying it up on an away football trip with the boys (cheap room with AC).

Question about Khao Yai entrance fees
Which makes the dual pricing based on nationality somewhat Xenophobic and extremely clumsy. IF Thailand dual-charged based on residency that would bring it more in line with the practices of the rest of the developed world.

Food delivery apps are dumb
Completely agree… I’m quite entertained with the irony presented by the Op highlighting something is dumb for the dumbest of reasons !!!

Thai Airways welcomes 2 new A350 models for modern travel
I kind of agree with rbkk….. most would want free internet, his is a fair assumption. I recall watching the Euros on a Qatar Airways flight… awesome time killer until in Indian air space where the service is interrupted. The vast majority of flights these days see me using my iPad & watching downloaded series & movies…. Free, fast reliable and uninterrupted Internet would be a nice addition (usually is in business class but I don’t fly that all the time). it’s all about the best way to kill time on a flight… The best I’ve found is flat-bed & a sleeping tablet… but I don’t get that luxury all the time.

Thai wife visa 400k
Ok… the official figure is 400k… no one else seems to have issues with that as long as the account has not dipped below in the seasoning period - no need for more than that regardless of what the officers at the Nonhtaburi immi office suggest. One would be curious as to why they have targeted you with exaggerated requirements.
-
Thai wife visa 400k
1MB ????? The requirements are very specific 400,000 baht seasoned for not less than 2 months…, Thats it…. Not sure why your experience is so ‘wrong’…
-
Thai wife visa 400k
If I’m not mistaken, when applying for a Non-Immigrant type O visa you only need no show the balance.., BUT, when processing the extension of stay’ later on, that 400k baht needs to have been seasoned for at least 2 months without dropping below that level.

Why i like Thailand
try having that attitude in Thailand when you renew your visa. I'd bet my house on them refusing to stamp it for you and maybe even sticking you on a blacklist. It's difficult to entertain discussion with you bob because you come out with such ridiculously silly and unrealistic responses. You're betting your house that my next visa extension will be refused or I'll end up on a black-list ???.... ...at least you are entertaining.

Why i like Thailand
Indeed.... when they didn't want to give me a second passport.... A couple of arrogant yet lazy civil servants and an annoyed entitled 'citizen' (myself)... I got my second passport in the end and a couple of the civil servants in the Passport Office were left red-faced... but not before some firm words, an encounter which left everyone in less relaxed place than they were before. Sometimes the negative encounter is down to our own attitudes, someones an issue is unavoidable.... In this case, they were wrong, I was rather bullish which didn't help matters either. Perhaps similar to a negative encounter I had at an Amphur office years ago when I was dealt with in quite a negative manner. 'sometimes it's not you, its them' and this stuff happens everywhere, often a result of the person negatively 'judging' in an instant - sometimes people instantly just don't like another, especially if they are having a bad day, extremely rare, but it happens... perhaps about 1 in 100 situations or less.... Based on your posts I suspect the 'negative' occurs more frequently with you, I'd be left wondering why and looking inwards.

Why i like Thailand
or... it could be that i have experienced so much negativity here over the years that it has sadly shaped my view of thais and thailand in general. Did you ever stop to consider whether it's just you? because the vast majority of people on this forum and those with whom I interact most certainly do not hold similar sentiment towards Thai's.... hence my comment that your negative experiences could be solely a result of the impression you exude. In reality any encounters we experience are likely to be a combination of environment and impression we exude. We've all had negative encounters and experiences here in Thailand, as with anywhere else... In Thailand for most of us the negative experiences are usually insignificant pathetic stuff we can simply walk away from and have a little whinge about on this forum to fuel the fire of those who'd comment "if you don't like it go home".... I'm trying to think of the last genuinely negative experience I had in Thailand and I can't... it was probably some fool on the road.... In the past I've also had a couple of extremely negative experiences dealing with officialdom (Amphur Office), that is mirrored trying do deal with the Passport Office in the UK.... I think sometimes we stay here too long the viewpoint becomes jaded and a 're-set' is healthy.....

Why i like Thailand
Whilst you are tarring all with the same negative brush I am thankful that Thai's are more open minded, somewhat forgiving and possess the intelligence not to tar all foreigners with the same brush lest I am treated with a similar degree of disregard to which you are so clearly deserving, bob.... Just sayin'.... perhaps so many of your negative experiences are self perpetuating.
