Will a Wife receive a Widows Pension from the UK Government.
Chongalulu replied to PFMills's topic in Home Country Forum
A much better attempt! Your detention is canceled! And as something of a pensions guru I can confirm you are correct. I would add that you can buy missing years of NI contributions and after 10 years minimum ,however many qualifying years you have will give you the pro rata equivalent pension (10/35ths etc). Whilst registered unemployed your NI contributions are paid for you so you don’t lose out. Now you can ask me about SIPPs ! ???? -

Well done you getting a 24 years old piece of "skirt" when you’re old enough to qualify for a vaccination. People are just jealous! ???? -

You’re confusing a manufacturing plant of another’s invention, just like they are (supposed to be )AZ.Thailand have developed NO significant new technology themselves … EVER . -
SURVEY: Sandbox -- the way to go or just a failing PR stunt?

It’s real purpose is a distraction from the shambles of the vaccination programme and collapse of the tourist trade. A false dawn it was always going to be with no addressing of the fundamentals. Thailand cannot pivot away from tourism thought it may still lose a chunk as a byproduct of the mismanagement. Thais have not got the education system nor skills necessary to substitute for higher tech/knowledge based industries, nor will have - it hasn’t even begun to be addressed so it’s generations away. Mass tourism doesn’t require those skills in any great way so it’s all they’ve realistically got. What industry they have got may also be vulnerable to technical developments elsewhere including AI. The long term outlook with the current mindset is worrying and the signs are already there -

So you’ve had your first shot of Sinovac on the understanding it gives you access to the AZ second shot ,thus you compromise. Then when the time comes for follow up AZ …'Sorry,no hab..but here another sinocrap for you'. ????. Saw this coming when the wife and I were invited for the vaccination at local medical centre . Turned us both round and walked her out. Angry ????

ChulaCov19 Vaccine as Effective as Pfizer’s
Chongalulu replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps you’d like to quote some,or even any, cutting edge technical innovations or adaptations that Thailand have successfully come up with? You don’t have to be an expert virologist to look at the country’s record of false announcements that amount to nothing. -
Thailand to get 30 million Pfizer doses: Anutin

It appears you eschewed a sophisticated and effective education based on a similarly flawed rationale? -

An excoriating article with great insight and perception. Thanks for highlighting, -
Sorry for your situation,I was away for 9 months (although planned 7 anyway),but forget ‘planning' the way you imply it. There is no beginning, middle and end to this pandemic as the variants have illustrated, especially not for Thailand as their competences also do. The ability to plan for and deal with complex ,varying circumstances is simply way beyond them. They got lucky initially and mistook that for competence- vaccination was the nearest thing to a solution and they were delinquent- still are. Resign yourself to further uncertainty or once vaccinated grasp the nettle and return, but given boosters are looking likely that will not be without risk.

Although I don’t disagree with your patronage argument which is is a very real problem in Thailand it simply exacerbates an existing issue of the very poor education in Thailand. PISA is not ,as you suspect, skewed and is highly respected internationally for its representation. Anecdotal evidence from many here encountering particularly the most notable poor mathematical skills support that. I’m not sure if this link works but is a damning assessment. . https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinion/584201/low-iq-levels-a-wake-up-call-for-thailand

The serious aspect here, difficult as that sounds,is the level of IQ revealed in someone ,who is supposed to be a senior government official, attaching his name to such a preposterous statement and imagining it can be taken seriously. There appears to be no concept of the international ridicule this bestows on the country and that NO ONE takes him aside beforehand and quietly points out the potential consequences . It is difficult not to conclude that the country contains some of the stupidest people on the planet . The PISA educational tables ranking by country appears to support this .
