This is a typical land lord scam here. As already mentioned, done waste your time or money with a lawyer. Just stop paying rent before you leave and get your money back that way.

I would have thought it depends on what happens with the Brexit negotiations. Currently it seems that if your living in the UK when it happens, as an EU citizen your ok and have protected rights, but not sure if your living in Thailand.

I will be very surprised if this ever works - installing GPS on cars entering the country - I mean most of the CCTV cameras don't work and that is pretty basic tech in a stationary object a, so i cannot see something more complex and highly mobile getting very far. 

 

500 baht for bring a car in job done - why make it needlessly complex and expensive to set up. A one off fee requires minimal investment in administration and paperwork and is much more efficient.

For that price you could buy a top of the range system with full state of the art analytics. 

And Pattaya is just one city!

What makes this all worse is that when Thailand had the last major floods. Experts from the Nederland came across to help develop their plan for the future and they were told to go home. Didn't want their help. 

And they don't want foreigners to have guns. Better to have hardly anyone with guns, especially hot headed Thai's. Like in Australia. Ban them all unless you have a real valid reason. 

Pay a lot but use a cheap contractor and get a big kick back. Nothing new there.

This is what happens when their parents bring the kids up with no discipline and treat them like babies well into their teens, And when they are told no or don't do that, they can't take it and lose it. Buddhism at its best ! Poor guy was only doing his sh*tty paid job as well.
