  1. An Expatriate Managing Director (lady) who travels frequently and resides in a very upmarket house in the Chaeng Wattana area, is urgently looking for a full time live in maid.

The ideal applicant should be older than 35, and have no commitments, she should be experienced in all household duties and be able to cook simple dishes. as the lady has a lovely Labrador dog, a dog lover would be expected.

Please note that majority of the time the employer is the only resident in the property, so the work load is not expected to be high.

The employer is offering a competitive salary and the Maid will be given her own very comfortable living area complete with bathroom, shower and TV etc.

English language ability would be an advantage, but necessary as the employer speaks reasonable Thai.

If any one knows of such a person requiring work such as this, please pm me as it is quite urgent

  2. I was extremely pisched off that the game was not shown live on ESPB/Star Sports, There was I sitting comfortably at 1720 rearing to go and all I could see was a 9 ball tournament. strange decision that by the powers that be as it promised and as it turned out, seemed to be a good game !

  3. So the tournament is up a running, or should I say laying, nope how about prostrated. Whatever it seems as if our Arabic neighbours have the same tactics off to a tee.

A slight physical tackle results in them writhing all over the pitch, it would be funny to watch if it wasnt so darned annoying. IU think its about timew the ref superglues a red card to one of his hands - that will soon put a stop to it

  4. I have had the use of a Carnival quite often just lately. Nice car, good Auto transmission, good accessories and comfortable to drive. In your case, my biggest concernwould be the amount of electrics being used, with seat adjustments etc all electrical, and we all know how dodgy electrics can be in hot humind countries.

As for fuel consumption, a recent return trip Chaeng Wattana to Chonburi city via the highway cost about 1500 Baht in fuel

  5. I can not understand why the ranters carry on as they do, their input certainly does not help the op in his quest of whether or he he should go to China.

But it does very clearly show that racism is still alive and kicking !!

  6. I am actually using the services of Sunbelt right now and am very comfident in Andy et al. My point however was simply this, Sunbelts name is seen all over this website and services offered well mentioned, and yet more than once questions such as that by the op are seen .

I was actually promoting you Sunbelt, please let me have your full address so as I can invoice you for my services.

Hey Ho Hey Ho its off to work we go !!!!!

  7. I was a constant business visitor to China in the late 80's - middle 90's, travelling all over as a service Engineer for a UK based Fire truck manufacturer. Those were the days when it was not unknown to fly domestically and find no seat belts or a small pig/chickens in the overhead lockers.

The days when "Gweilo" were looked down upon, the days of the Mao jackets and boring baggy clothing worn by the female population, the days when the security police insisted of checking your hotel room at 3am to ensure than none of the nations female population were sharing your hard lumpy mattress. The days of foreigners not being able to change foreign currency into Yuan, but having to settle for what was described as Chinas tourist money, which the locals were not allowed to obtain.

Being able to converse to the locals - hahaha come off it, they werent allowed to talk to foreigners. Yes the China of the past - and its obvious fellow posters on here were never there during those years.

After each journey landing back at dear old Kai Tak airport or crossing the border bridge at Lo Wu was a huge relief, I promised myself that I would never ever go back to the PRC again. Those promises were broken time and time again until 1995 when I was given alternative territory to break in!

So its been 12 years since I went to the PRC last, until last month when I had a business trip to Kunming. My God, was this the same China that I visited so often so many years ago, total change, beautifully dressed girls, polite people, clean and green city with wonderful food. fantastic weather. English speaking shop/hotel staff

How times have changed, and I can assure you if I were 20 years younger I would be learning Mandarin and getting my feet under the table.

Dont knock it unless you have seen a lot of China and how the present time has seen China change and grow into a nice country with mostly nice people.

  8. My fith WP and Visa expires on the 26th July, all documentation is completed and ready to submit for action to be taken. However when is the best time to submit ? I have been told if I do it too early then I am likely to get a renewal only up to the date of expiry, then have to go through the whole procedure again on the 26th July.

So when is the best time to submit, now, a week before the expiry date or when ???? :o
