To all our Laos expats what's it like living in Laos? Perhaps Vientiane I know one of our members on here Simon used to live there but your thinking in terms of cost , lifestyle, gyms , things to do , people attitude,health systems etc ok But .. what about the cultural aspects, art , history, What is the cultural aspects and influence of the city of Vientiane The people vibe? One thing I judge a city on is ,... graffiti, or street art , is it any good it tells me about the city I just watched a YouTuber vlogging a horse I think it was called on Vientiane ,looks like Isaan I realise Vietnam is the upcoming now place for retirement and secondly Philippines ( I didn't really like) and Bali to a certain extent but Laos may by pass them Thus vlogger showed rubbish in Vientiane but I can tell you nothing compito the awful Philippines, angry males not minding their own business I can't tell you how many times when I was in the Philippines taking a photo or looking at a building how many times I was approached by a Filipino male asking what I was doing? "What are you staring at? Etc Anyway this post is NOT about the Philippines it's about Laos !! Give me your rundown on Laos

Not sure where the article address what I say Are you saying in the UK there is no assets test to get the government pension at 67? So I can own a investment property or have a million dollars in the bank and still be eligible for the old age pension?

So when your 67 you won't get the government pension !! Worked hard all your life paying taxes and won't receive a cent back.

I'm just wondering how much a average doctor in a hospital would get in a salary ? I'm thinking more Government hospitals? What about psychiatrists in Thailand do they earn much?

How about you minimise the problem by exercising!!! Do something about it ,see a physiotherapist I see many of these fat old fools many younger than me especially fat middle-aged women using these Mobilty scooters !

I think "visualisation" is the key Many bar owners obviously visualised whilst they were working their factory jobs etc back in their home country before they took control of a bar . Lately I have been thinking of re,-inventing myself now that I'm older than 60 I was coming home from work one evening last week ,sitting at a bus stop to see a guy shouting to himself and punching the air The person sitting next to me at the bus stop I overheard saying he needs a psychiatrist! And that got me thinking , as soon as I got home I started researching on how to be a psychiatrist and I stayed up all night and the very next morning at 8am on the dot called the University to try to find out how I can enrol Apparently it's a 6 year uni course it I wouldn't mind be called Doctor ! Doctor George , Consultant Psychiatrist! What about you ,did you "Re invent " yourself past 60 or when you retired? Talk to many bar owners in Thailand or Philippines etc and many were not in the bar industry previously but reinventing their lives Divorced ,traumas ,job lay offs ,many left their old life BEHIND
