Lemon Tree song brings back old memories, I think it was late 90's song or early 2000's , haven't heard it for years -
I was going to talk about this in the isaan or Chiang mai forum but actually it affects everyone . I'm talking about your safety & security in your home and feeling safe . Years ago I visited the rural areas of Thailand,I remember getting a tuk tuk very late one night to visit a ex bar girl in rural areas . The tuk drive thru back roads and every now & again I could see farmhouses with lights on ,as a city person I wonder if they feel safe out there at night ? I mean imagine receiving a knock on the door or hearing noises if your in a secluded area ? Or even if your in a condo in Pattaya or Phuket you can still get "tourists " visiting your apartment floor in high season drunk and obnoxious causing noise . But do you feel safe in your own home ? What about you guys who live in those secluded farmhouses ? What about those of you who live in places like the Philippines? Or North of Chiang Mai

Unfortunately I'm forced to travel to Thailand because of the incompetent fools who run the expensive Australian medical system that have no interest in curing people like me !! Maybe if they done their job and actually investigate my medical diseases I wouldnt be forced to travel to Asia for treatment!!!! I have more or less given up on the normal medical system and turning to traditional medicine for my diabetes, liver , back & arm pain , kidney pain etc And God help those Australians who are using the public health system, I'm using expensive private paying doctors and they still do nothing !!

I will be going back to Thailand in July however it will be a more "health medical" type trip rather than party etc. So to cut a long story short I'm after your experiences & knowledge in Thailand either in Bangkok or Pattaya of the following. Colonic irrigation, ? Have you any experience of this ,was it beneficial? And have you done this in Thailand? Acupuncture Never ever had this done ,but want to try it ,any experience of this and is there practitioners in Pattaya or Bangkok ? Apparently there's some good benefits for liver ,backs etc Herbalists Just like Chinese medicine,is there Thai herbal practitioners ? Anyone used Thai herbs ? Or seen a herbalist in Thailand? Whilst I don't believe in every part of natural therapies there are some parts that are beneficial . I know Aromatherapy is not recognised by the Australian traditional medicine council though so don't know about that ,but is there Thai herbalidts in Pattaya or Bangkok, any experience? Back problem Is there a natural therapy clinic who can look at my lower back pain ,it appears I have scoliosis, Is there are osteopath or chiropractic or traditional practitioner in Bangkok or Pattaya

That's a whole new topic ! I noticed the Australian government a few years ago raised many of the ages to 21 for government jobs . I remember police you could apply at 19 now it's 21 Kids nowadays are not mature unfortunately and that's worldwide ,I see these tiktok videos of some 25yo girl dancing in public I see 17uo girls saying they are children etc but it's a whole new topic

There was a Thai girl in Beach road a few years ago who kicked a stray dog , a very big muscular New Zealander expat saw this and .. "sorted her out" ......so I wouldn't be doing that in Pattaya , I'm not sure if he is still around but he apparently every night feeds the homeless dogs ...he is very big tattooed bikie guy who used to get big donations on Facebook

Well this is part of his research !!

Shocking ! Why wasn't his belt taken from him ? Why wasn't he watched ? Neglect of care ! Why wasn't he given the care and attention I hope the family Sue over this It's the same with Bali, Aussie kids head there on their end of school vacations to party and most times are neglected by the authorities who are supposed to take care of them

So my 24yo nephew will go to Pattaya ,he has been to Phuket before but not Pattaya I will pay for him to go so need a plan which I'm excited to make for him. He is into gym and muay Thai , not a drinker . So as I'm paying and he is not into comfort , I have decided early June he will travel from Sydney to Bangkok and stay 18 days June 2nd Sydney to Bangkok June 19 departure to Sydney , I know you guys mostly are not from Sydney so can't help with the air flights but I'm thinking Scoot . Anyway moving on ,I have designed a plan,he will take the Bus from airport to Pattaya , would be cheapest , do we have the latest web link ,I have no idea because I always have a car waiting ,can I pay the tickets online before he travels? ,I know the dates will be arriving June 2 Secondly he needs to be near a cheap hotel near a gym , are those rooms next to Tony's gym still going ? He needs a room not necessarily by himself maybe a backpacker doesn't really matter sharing shower toilet ,I'm not paying more than 600 baht a night for the 17 nights If he was into picking up girls I suggested to him beach road ,he doesn't drink a lot that I know of but unfortunately smokes the green He needs to find other younger people his age to hang around with not that there is any backpacking hostel in Pattaya I know of ???? Tattoos,he wants to get some ,cheap places U recommend? Anyway point of this thread is to help me plan his budget vacation, Cheap accommodation flights and close to a gym , doesn't have to be Muay Thai gym though he will go there I guess maybe Soi 6 area ? Any cheaper airlines in June Sydney to Bangkok? Accommodation cheap under 600 a night ? That I can pay BEFORE he arrives So I will pay his airfare , accommodation and any left over he can use as spending money ,from the 2k Australian He can eat in Thai places My budget is $2000 Australia dollars including the airfare

That life married with kids living in a house in suburbia with a pool wouldn't suit me ,I would rather be free -
Two kinds of expat farangs Both I know personally How would you describe them ? First guy I seen in Pattaya , 70's age Scottish guy I heard him talking to a taxi " Oh don't give me that mate, you told me 1000 baht ! I watched for a moment then after he paid the taxi he walked towards the hotel guesthouse I was in and I asked him about it ,he told me the taxi had quoted 1000 baht but then wanted 1500 because of traffic , I said most people would pay it ! Something I always remember he said to me "Not this little black duck ! The second example is a guy named Kevin I personally knew from my work , ,but back in 2014 I met up with him on Pattaya ,in his 50's then and a gambler he never owned his own home and rented a apartment nearby to my work in Australia Anyway to cut a long story short Kevin met up with me in Pattaya ,one afternoon after eating in a mom pop Thai place we left and I thought he had paid the around 80 baht bill,he hadn't ,he forgot Only to have the Thai guy chase us , I went to give a 100b note but the Thai guy said it was someiomethibg like like 240 baht ,I knew it wasn't but was prepared to give 150b , then kevin got out 1000 baht note to my astonishment and said to the Thai guy ,keep it !!! I was shocked ,he said you know these people are poor etc etc The next day we were in a taxi from jomtien to big C at Pattaya ,I remember not seeing the meter on or something like that and I remember the cab driver telling me a outrageous price I remember 500 b and I started to query it only to have Kevin in the backseat shouting just pay it ! Just pay it mate !!! Just pay it ,you getting it cheap compared to Australia So question to you is are you a wise man ,not only when it comes to money matters but life in general, examples are , Are you easily ripped off ? Do people use you ? Are you clever & cluey ? Are you gullible? We all heard of the cases where farangs are tipping big money , I'm not sure if U describe them as gullible in that sense Can you be gullible living in Asia as a farang that's the question Just like the above example I find Scottish people very shrewd and cluey

I don't know how to describe this ,not same sex but different race? Before you read below ,then let me tell you I have a Filipino GF I want to take to Thailand and maybe live there ,is there any other farangs here who have a non Thai partner living in Thailand? I'm interested to hear from couples together who are not same race but living in a country where you both aren't citizens ! Is there any farang couples here living in Asia eg Thailand or Philippines, Cambodia Vietnam etc ? Is there any Thai partner living in the Philippines? I'm trying to talk my Filipino into giving it a go for awhile as it's (Thailand) much better than the Philippines and she has been there before But I'm more interested to hear from other couples who live but not same race eg Farang couples in Philippines , or Thailand or Filipino in Thailand or Thai in Philippines etc You get my drift
