  1. The is your second post on Bali beach boys .....they. Sound hot ...and obviously gay4pay
  2. Davao is said to be safest city , I walked around even at night ,no one blinked a eye at me . But like all cities the traffic was busy and I find Rents in Philippines much higher than Thailand. Even Condo prices to buy are much higher than Thailand especially in Cebu ,looking recently 4 million pesos for a 26sqm Condo is Cebu !!!! No thanks
  3. Just watched a YouTuber saying from August 15, that Vietnam now has introduced the 90 day visa again . I have absolutely no idea about Vietnam,it's one Asian country I have never been to . Any expats in here who have retired to Vietnam? What's the expat areas? How is it financially to live there compared to say Thailand? comfortable living ? I imagine it's more modern than say Philippines and Cambodia? Is Vietnam the upcoming retirement destination?
  4. You forgot the huge cost to live here in Sydney, and the depressing lifestyle, I would rather be in Thailand
  5. You would have to also look at your workplace policy to see if and how long they accept overseas Medical certificates from overseas medical practitioners Better to get your doctor in the USA to do it Whilst you have a lot of sick leave up and I take it you work for the government then use it before you retire
  6. I went to Cebu City last year , remember the city is different from the outer areas . I enjoyed the Mactan island area far more than the traffic congested city . But had modern shopping malls
  7. Getting back to the OP I hope you can find your policy . I realised now this is a very big part of a expat budget nearly $150 to $200 U.S a month for expats insurance!! Something every one needs to think about before moving there ! No use saying it won't happen to me , you need a plan either have the money to pay for treatment OR a plan to go back to your home country if you need expensive treatment eg chemo
  8. And what about your fitness and health now , it's called personal quality of life I hate to see guys 15 years younger than me driving mobility scooters just because they had fun earlier in life
  9. With some travel insurance I now notice that you can apply and pay extra for pre existing conditions. Of course they would go on probality I guess ,no idea how they assess it,and of course the extra cost
  10. I'm not having a personal attack on the OP ,so it's not meant for them But I don't think hitting your 50's 60s is old , I see a lot of guys in my area in their 50's with big bellies riding those mobility scooters and I often think what life have they led or do they just want to be old?? On the other hand I go to the gym to see guys in their 70's powerlifting!! I get a bit annoyed with guys who want to be old and their only in their late 50's or early 60's ,to me that's not old if you have taken care of yourself
  11. We have free medical (hospital)here in Australia....but the waiting list is high in public hospitals so I choose to pay the exhorted $225 AUD per month private health insurance BUPA and what do I get for it ? Nothing !!! it's a case of " just in case " Absolutely nothing back if your not sick They direct debit every month from my bank account of $225 and the promise of oh if you get sick you will go into a private hospital and be treated "quicker" than a government hospital, so they say anyway ,so they say Strangely I went to a urologist specialist in Australia last month ( Specialist here in Australia they aren't free to anyone still a " gap " fee to pay ) $150 for his 3 minutes of wisdom ,even pensioners have to pay this unless you wish to wait a few months to see one in a public hospital. The first thing he was "Do you have private health insurance? Yes I said His eyes lit up ...." Well we can put you in the private hospital next Thursday for a bladder check ! " of course there is a gap fee for the anthiesest and then the gap fee for the insurance but that's only $2000 !!! He exclaimed "Do I really need one ? I said If I didn't have private health insurance and was a public patient would you bother with this bladder check? The answer was no Bye I said
  12. There was a famous YouTuber several years ago who wasn't insured at 59 ( I thought he looked older but that's a other story) Apparently got Cancer spent millions of baht ,ended up they couldn't cure him ,too late and went back to the UK to palliative care In hindsight he would of been better off going back immediately
  13. Problem is risk of being denied. I just spoke to a lady in my workplace who used to be a assessor in travel insurance. It went in many factors in approving your claim , regular customer, etc If they were over budget they just made it difficult for you eg refused your claim on some BS reason even though it had good chance of success to await you to appeal and then will re assess it and still not happy you can take them to the insurance tribunal, of course they made you go through all these hoops & this and 95% of claimants would give up .
  14. Your story is what one YouTube channel is looking for..."vagabond awake" is looking to interview single older male expats , your life story would be very interesting, I think they even pay you for it May I ask if you live in a city or province area? What about expat medical insurance in Cambodia? What's your daily routine at 79?
  15. Wow looking at the quotes it's over $200 (US) a month is the cheapest ! Honestly how do you expats afford this ?
  16. I take it you have a partner who looks after you ? Was meeting friends easy there?
  17. Talking about loan sharks there used to be a big muscle Aussie Kiwi guy in Pattaya who I haven't seen in awhile
  18. Hello Darkness my old friend ....I've come to talk to you again....
  19. Deoderant sprays seem to be the same price in both places . I found Australia cheaper on roll on deoderant so didn't buy in Philippines or Thailand
  20. I never knew that , I learn something everyday on this forum ????
  21. My mother took the same opinion after watching my dad suffer with chemo. She said she wanted to die naturally. Life is not guaranteed, My condolences to you ????
  22. Have you tried Dr Oliver clinic? He has vaccine.
  23. Seems every Philippines YouTuber is hitting Duamegette It's becoming the farang foreigner area of the Philippines I guess my concern is the prices of rents etc will now go up as the influx of foreign pensioners migrate to the area Yes I may consider this area for retirement but I was a little bit concerned at the "right wing" mentality of some American expats there that made comments about gay people etc and hold a church meeting every Friday at a cafe .
