  1. Cherry bike on 118 just down from Central Festival mall is where I bought mine. One of my friends use Chaitawat.
  2. OK, I must have taken it the wrong way.
  3. I love how people move to anther country and then want those people to change to your ways. Enjoy and learn the culture, you might like it.
  4. If you are using a VPN you might have better luck signing in if you turn it off. I have trouble logging in until I turn off the VPN, then usually no problem. I use Lazada mostly.
  5. I recently set mine up with Bangkok Bank and have an ATM card and can withdraw with that.
  6. I'm in Chiang Mai and use my father's address in PA as I don't have any kids to use theirs. He told me I got a jury duty notice a while back. He (and I) did nothing about it, the date came and went and never heard anything about it.
  7. I use SurfShark and still have ads. I always get the offer to pay for no ads, but won't do it.
  8. Have you had any luck? I am in Chiang Mai (San Sai) and have done pretty much mig welding in my life but am not an expert or certified or anything. If you haven't figured it out maybe I can help. P/M me if needed. Ted
  9. Same here, was renting before I came here, so that's probably what I'd do if I had to go back.
  10. I don't think they do that, they don't do it for me as I have my money in a separate bank account for this. I know my wife keeps the documents from year to year and we take them to the agent along with a bank statement and new pictures and they do the filing of the papers at immigration. Then get me an appointment to go into immigration and sign everything. I'm in and out in about 20 minutes.
  11. I just did my third extension and have used the same original one every time. I do use an agent, whether that makes a difference I don't know.
  12. Here I was thinking this post was going to be about Milner's license plate in American Graffiti.
  13. I buy automotive urethane clear from Lazada, I use it on my model cars, but it comes in 1 liter cans with activator, so I spray with an airbrush, I don't think I've ever seen it in aerosol spray cans though. I have seen custom colors of paint on Lazada, like candies and pearls probably in 1 liter also. I can verify that the urethane clear works good, and can be sprayed over most any type of paint.
  14. Cycling, reading, building model cars with a lot of scratchbuilding, YouTube watching and creating.
  15. I watched this happen to a guy from UK, he had lung cancer, no insurance, could have paid for hospital stuff but decided to let nature take it's course, so he only lived a few months. I also have no insurance, going back to America wouldn't help any because of not having insurance there either. We all know how expensive health care is in America anyway. So I bicycle about 250 KM a week and try to stay healthy (so far it's working and I'm 62). If I were to come down with cancer I too would most likely let nature take it's course as I've seen too many people go through treatments and get so sick from the treatments and have no quality of life, so basically just suffer and then die anyway in a short time, why not cut out that sickness from the treatments and maybe last longer without them. At least that's my thoughts maybe I'd change my mind if it happens.
  16. Where do you get them for free? I've been buying from Amazon for my kindle, but "if it's free it's for me" Thanks in advance.
  17. I still read about 1 book every week, although at this point it's mostly on my Kindle. I still have about 10 paper backs I brought from USA that I'll read also. Where I live it's quiet enough for me to concentrate on reading. I manage to find time for all of my hobbies here.
  18. In all fairness, I've landed back in the USA a time or two with really long lines at immigration when a few flights came in together, and other times hardly any line, both in America and Thailand. But I agree with everyone else, they should open more counters.
  19. I have 8 on the back, but usually only use about 4 of them, the 2 on each end) most of my flat riding I'm in high gear, but climbing hills I need lower gears. I was even thinking of going to a 9 speed on the back for my next bike, why? Beats the hell out of me, just seems like the thing to do because my riding buddy has 9.
  20. I was under the impression that Amazon adds taxes/duty in an estimated (usually high) amount an charge you when you order. Is 10 USD like a flat fee for shipping and no additional duty? If so maybe I need to go back to buying from them again. I haven't used Amazon since I left USA.
  21. I think it depends on the customs officer or something, in my experiences 100 USD seemed to be when I had to pay more "duty" most times. Some things I order get dropped off by the mail man and sometimes he brings a paper and I have to go to the post office and pay more. I asked at the post office and they said loosely translated that it depends on the mood of customs in Bangkok.
  22. Not for me, In America a person can't afford insurance and can't afford not to have insurance. I know people paying 1500 dollars a month for insurance. I couldn't afford to live there anymore, and wouldn't want to leave here anyway. Maybe I'm still in the "honeymoon phase" since it's only been a year that I'm here but can't see myself leaving.
  23. I found that some thing, I brought a supply of generic Excedrin with me from America, and found that it is unavailable in Thailand. Currently looking for a substitute.
