At least the police responded to this accident, unlike the British lady killed in the hit & run in Kamala Phuket a couple of weeks back where the cops couldn't be bothered.

Further police investigation revealed that the deceased had overstayed his tourist visa by more than five years. He was known to have lived in the Thai Mueang district since 2016, where he sold clothes door-to-door on a motorbike. Looks like it's only Western looking farangs who get squealed on for overstay. This guy had a good business going as well, which must have kept him in cash for the 5 years overstay. Unfortunately, a bad ending. RIP.

He was subsequently taken to Patong Police Station, where he was charged with using fireworks without the necessary legal permit and causing noise pollution. The main noise pollution in Phuket & has been for years are the motor bikes (minus exhaust). The authorities just turn a blind eye to it. If you want to arrest people for buying fireworks (let's face it you are going to set them off sooner or later) and for other minor things like going topless on the beach etc., that's fine, as long as you headline it in the broachers, so people can make their own minds up if Thailand is for them.

Why didn't we see that video from the very start when the cash was handed over. The videos obviously been cut. Have a few doubts about whether this is a scam gone wrong.
