  1. A committee? Hardly very unbiased. Why isn't the investigation forwarded to the Department of Special Investigations(DSI)? from Wikipedia: "DSI is a department of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand. It operates independently of the Royal Thai Police and is tasked with the investigation of certain "special cases". These include complex criminal cases, those affecting national security, those involving organised criminal organisations and those potentially implicating high-ranking government officials or police officers." Sorry, but a committee selected personally by a minority-elected PM doesn't give off a feeling of fair and transparent investigation. It doesn't project being judicially competent.
  2. A very interesting limitation, certainly might restrain the wealthy who can afford endless petitions to give judicial equality regardless of wealth (ie., billionaires in the US) or political influence. But this is Thailand. Defendents or plaintiffs apparently can completely bypass the whole lower court judicial process to take their case directly to the highest court I the nation - the Constitutional Court. And apparently because there has been no development of evidence through the judicial process before the CC, the CC has the ability to conduct its own investigation to establish a judicial foundation of evidence used to determine innocence or quilt. Given such ectraordinary judicial power, the CC can be exposed to political and/or financial corruption so as to not render a fair and transparent decision by wealthy or political influencers.
  3. They will be deemed "illegal," thus criminal. Thailand doesn't typically adhere to international refugee standards. At best they'll be allowed to remain in Thailand as stateless people with virtually no future.
  4. "Korat women’s right group" aka "Group of Karens."
  5. TerraPower has received $2 billion from the US Department of Energy. Nice and the US gets a demonstrator. Should it prove better economics (ie., higher burn efficiencies, lower waste generation) for commercialization, the $2 billion should be repaid.

  7. "a large portion of recent and future expected migrants are believed to be between 25 and 54 years old" Decreased birthrate, Midicare and social security funding solved.
  8. I wonder how the 10-year 50,000 baht Long Term Resident visa is doing. With multiple re-entry, annual resident notifications and airport Fast Track access Thailand can become a travel hub for foreigners.
  9. Politics puts everything at risk.
  10. And many more! This is a female that should birth 90% of its offspring with albino traits. And that is reflected in its price.
  11. Two-month stay is fine so long as the PM organizes a trade team of senior trade advisors and economists to present and receive foreign trade offers. There is the Minister of Commerce Wechayachai who surely can recommend such a team for PM approval. Once trade outlines are established, the PM can travel to negotiate and execute MOU's to establish specific treaty language for ratification by respective national legislatures.
  12. From AQI "The current PM2.5 concentration in Bangkok is 5.5 times above the recommended limit given by the WHO 24 hrs air quality guidelines value." Will a mask even help?
  13. A crackdown also can protect long-stay expats too.
  14. And that basket (tourism) is low-value/low income compared to high-value Export of Goods and Services, and Consumer Spending in reference to GDP growth.
  15. Commander didn't know that Exercise Cobra Gold was over. Defending the Homeland the only way he knew how.
  16. Read the article link: "Mrs. Nonglak Jitjaikla, Vice Mayor of the Khao Chi Chan sub-district, revealed that eyewitnesses told her that they saw the victim riding a red-and-black Honda Wave motorcycle along the road. She reportedly suddenly swerved and collided with two other motorcycles." Three motorbikes involved. Do the math.
  17. Not a much as before human global civilizations. "To date (Jan. 2024), the ocean contains 90 percent of the heat from human-induced global warming, and the year 2022 was the warmest ever measured for the global ocean." https://science.nasa.gov/climate-change/faq/is-the-ocean-continuing-to-warm/
  18. No. First was born a citizen of South Africa, mother being a Canadian citizen. Then he moved to Canada to eventually obtain Canadian citizenship. Then subsequently applied for and received American citizenship. All very proper. https://www.biography.com/business-leaders/elon-musk
  19. "When it comes to Trump's mounting legal bills that he's accrued through his slew of lawsuits, Musk said he won't be assisting with any of his debt nor contributing monetarily to Trump's presidential campaign. “I'm not paying his legal bills in any way, shape or form … and he did not ask me for money,” Musk said." from "Elon Musk Insists He’s Not Funding Trump: ‘I’m Not Paying His Legal Bills in Any Way,’ The Wrap by Raquel 'Rocky' Harris March 19, 2024 At Face Value and all of that.
  20. "The Fifth Amendment says to the federal government that no one shall be "deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law." The Fourteenth Amendment, ratified in 1868, uses the same eleven words, called the Due Process Clause, to describe a legal obligation of all states". https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/due_process Remember that before the ratified US Constitution, virtually everyone in the 13 British Colonies (there was no United States) was an undocumented immigrant.
  21. "Reasons" not being an illegal immigrant. For a timeline of Jose Ibarra presence in the US see: https://www.11alive.com/article/news/crime/jose-ibarra-accused-killer-laken-riley-georgia-immigration-system/85-0294133e-f5e1-4e2f-a2df-ab017b498508 His and wife's entry into the US near El Paso, Texas had as Venezuelans "special protective status" in the U.S. But when such immigrants subsequently commit crimes in the US, apprehended by state or local police, they are to be handed over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for adjudication. But when he was apprehended in New York by NYPD, the NYPD released him before ICE could detain him. Further alleged crimes subsequently committed by Jose should have been followed by detention by ICE but there appears to be lack of communication between "local" police and ICE that interferred with his detention by ICE.
  22. Not exactly. The issue is that under the Constitution undocumented immigrants that enter the US (vs documented immigrants entering through US border checkpoints) are guaranteed Due Process of Law. Due process requires a judicial finding of guilt or innocence, ie., under federal laws. Federal laws have jurisdiction over state laws. Which is why there is a separate judicial system within the US Department of Homeland Security to adjudicate an undocumented immigrant's entry into the US. It is why the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has the authority to detain undocumented immigrants found in the US for such adjudication.
  23. With bipartisan support from GOP Senators! Credit to the Democrats AND POTUS Biden. But Trump told House GOP to reject the bill because otherwise Trump had no campaign issue against undocumented immigrants. And the House GOP majority did reject the bill.
  24. "The bus had collided with the rear of a white Hino 18-wheeler." Truck not shown in any photos. Released and allowed to leave without comment? No mention of the truck driver. Appears the police investigation is focused solely on the bus driver and passengers that would imply bus driver potentially at fault.
  25. PTP didn't really "win" the 2023 election, ie., in the Parliament House. Which is why it must go forward with the scheme. Political "honor" is irrelevant.
